  1. To me, personally the NPE of Lumineth does not come by strength, but by the huge amount of core-rule-elusion. Games have a certain flow, and any disruption to that flow has to be justified. In that sense I'm also not sure how much NPE there is in the new Nighthaunt. But at least they mostly keep their strange interactions to their turn.
  2. So criticise GW for overreacting or something, but don’t tell folks to not raise their concerns. That’s my whole point. I agree that the SCE book (and to some degree the warclans) falls short of the quality the rest of the third edition books have brought. Many units are redundant & kind of a dead weight. There should be a conversation evolving around that! A path forward. Just, aim it at the right people & don’t vent at people that have had no say in the solutions.
  3. As someone who has dabbled in Grinnin' Blades quite a lot in the last few months, I'm pretty certain that those two changes will do a lot for us. There is a list that dealt with shooting armies pretty well and that just got better. A lot better, especially as magic is also affected by the special rule. I'm hopeful!
  4. So everyone raising concerns on the performance of some SCE units is guilty of a possible overnerf by GW? I don‘t think so. Pointing out mistakes and being happy about overnerfs are two totally different things. Collective guilt is rarely the right answer.
  5. I think correcting mistakes (like the NPE of the Lumineth) benefits everyone and should be considered just as much as releasing new tomes for underserved armies. It sounds strange at first. But personally, I'd profit much more from a better designed Lumineth book, than from blades of Khorne or Gits. There just seem to be more Lumineth players around. This line of thinking however changes drastically when it comes to proper releases aka tons of new miniatures. Here the LRL just like some other factions have had it pretty good in the near past and should make room for Ogors and the like who've so far gotten very little since AoS was first released.
  6. Don't forget that the 3.0 books will most likely all be mentioned in the accompanying FAQ. So Kruleboys not getting any changes doesn't mean anything just yet.
  7. Now imagine that instead of Kragnos we got Kurnoth als the destructive aspect of nature (and life) along with the Kurnothi as a wild but not brutish Destruction faction. Like... destruction-wild-elves with satyrs and the like. How would *that* edition would have played out. I would have everything. Storytelling, a new destruction faction, some actual sense, an unhealthy focus on aelves! Best edition ever. Instead, we got a goat that screams every time it gets hurt. >.<
  8. To be fair, so far the 3.0 books don't look that bad. Even more so, when compared to one another. Doesn't mean that Skaven have to look good. SCE, another book with a plethora of options was also underwhelming design wise.
  9. Man, I never new... I have a bunch of those at my parents, sleeping soundly in the attic.
  10. Wait. So the weapon teams & rat ogres from that isle of blood (or something) set aren't the standard nowadays?
  11. I agree. The lists I really love to play are a bit "Jack-of-all-trades"ish. A good mix of everything so you can use the full toolbox. And it really kinda feels like Kruleboys were designed for that. Sadly the boys are a tad too weak in... basically everything then. Is really fun though against lists with a similar approach. I do however think that a points drop could really benefit those types of lists. (But would probably benefit a more specialized one more).
  12. I'm honestly not sure either, @Ganigumo. But in the current state it's not so much "which army works best" for me, but rather "how do Kruleboys work best." I like the models and how they play too much (and I've frankly put too much time into them) to just not play them. And so far they've worked better like this than boltboys-spam does.
  13. It's just a hunch. Maybe it's finally giving up on heavy bolt boys and switching to a wound heavy army. There's something there, I just haven't figured out exactly what.
  14. I had a game with a list not unlike the grinning' blades list a few posts above vs. MSU Nighthaunt and absolutely slaughtered them. As it stands a high wound count list vs. a low wound count list works pretty well, when the latter is very susceptible to high volume attacks and mortal wounds. I'm kinda getting the vibe that the more 3.0 books hit the shelves, the better Kruleboys become.
  15. That’s what my opponent did, but as it happens I‘ve started to experiment with „msu-like“ kruleboys myself (hence grinning blades) with lots of hobgrot screens, 3 times 10 Gutrippaz. Msu boltboys and basically the NH units just folded. Not on their turn but in mine. But we’ll see. Was his first game as 3.0 NH, so there will be a learning curve. And personally I don’t look forward to playing against Emerald Host.
  16. So, to share some perspective. I recently had a game not as NH but as Kruleboys against NH. I played a body heavy grinnin‘ blades army with only moderate shooting against Scarlet Doom with MSU and all in all a low wound count and absolutely smashed the living spirit out of my opponent. I expected a different outcome but it seems that high volume attacks with some mortals output absolutely wrecks MSU NH. We‘ll play a few games over the course of the next weeks, but so far low wound count seems to be problematic for NH armies. Saves are still good with 4+/5++ but super swingy. Too swingy imo. A block of „something“ seems to be needed to not lose the center and much needed board presence.
  17. Wasn't there a post about a sewer leak & that they had to throw away stuff?
  18. Mancrushers should get updated first. A third size of Gargants can wait 'til AoS 4 ;). It's not like I'm unreasonable =D
  19. SoB are essentially a thankful army to update. Just two new kits and they’re done. Small Gargants, Big Gargants, Mega Gargants & a shift from 4 megas to something like 1 Mega, 2-3 big ones, 6ish small ones.
  20. I thought it might be Necromunda Squats. But whatever the case, like KO it looks not!
  21. Let’s not forget, that StD could come in like January. It is entirely possible for us to get a new starter box with the horns vs „something something order because order“ & get those legionaries and a destruction warband as an addition.
  22. I don't want to judge its strength, but I do have to say I love the implications. The whole rule basically forces DoK to play aggressive. Let's hope the rest of the book is finely tuned.
  23. Don’t forget that Dreadblades can only copy the General‘s command. You’re probably aware and are only mentioning that for the free commands, but I wanna highlight it a bit.
  24. Well, if it helps, you got me into NH as well.
  25. What I would love is elves, dwarves and other races sprinkled across ab otherwise human faction. To show the other races are there, they‘re just way less common. A bit like the *really* old empire books worked. If they could translate that spirit into a better themed book (aka Dawnbringer Crusades) it would be aces!
