At least we know Pyre and Flood will be release either before or around Daawnbringers V. Look's like the Nighthaunt are about to tear The Wheel Cult a new one or two...

They will be out the following week

Because comparing them to the other armies "requesting" wave 2, their AoS models are quite low in quantity. Also, I just listed roughly what has been asked in the thread during the last months and seems more or less plausible.

Agreed on Cities wave 2. There are clearly gaps to be addressed. I don't see it on FEC. Maybe just a kit or 2 light.

Uh, if that's the case and they announce it tomorrow then we could see more stuff than I initially thought from Book VI on the Warhammer World Day reveals.

I mean don't they basically have to announce all the book vi stuff at warhammer world day if 4th edition will be at adepticon? or is adepticon usually just a teaser?

But boy are they still moaning about it. On every GW social media post, AoS or otherwise.

Its so obnoxious and childish. As if that's what I want to see a comment about underneath the latest dawnbringers chronicle.

I love the Dryads. Fun to build and paint and forgiving of my bad technique in both.

As others have pointed out they fit in well with the whole range including the newer stuff.

I don't think they'll be replaced as such, my only concern is they may be dropped from AoS Sylvaneth to move to TOW Wood elves.

An interesting thing about dryads is that they're one of the only basic troops to never make an appearance in an Underworlds warband so we have very little idea what a resculpt could even bring to them.

I think those all getting new kits are inevitable, the question is how long do you want to wait?

To give some 40k comparisons I think it took over 15 years to get new Cadian guardsmen sculpts, and we've just seen the kroot get new sculpts after what 20 years?

That said do minis like witch elves/sisters of slaughter need new minis anytime soon, they aren't that old, compared to the poor skaven, surely any DoK release would be best served as a new unit.

Also to swing back to the Cadian comparison, modern sculpts can be a big double edge sword for horde armies. How detailed do basic gobs need to be?

Skaven definitely need the update more don't get me wrong (and anyways we know it is coming) but I think despite the age the witch elves certainly could use an update too. I think age of kits shows more quickly in human models than others. Even some of the DoK that came out 6 years ago are showing their age a bit compared to newer sculpts.

Not necessarily. They can potentially finish out the crusades in book 4 which is likely with urshoran striking back in book 5 and leading into 4e.  We already know the general plotline of how the ghyran crusades going to go thanks to Warhammer plus.  Maybe the asqhys will succeed in db4.  On maybe db5 makes them both fail.

I think the fact that we know chaos marauders (at least horsemen) and the Lady of Ruin are coming out means there can't not be a book 6. There's no other release window where they'd be able to come since the 4th edition launch set will be the first AOS release after Dawnbringers ends. Also, GW would never announce a final box in a series like this without talking about how it is the final book.

I would like some more units that match the Crone aesthetically especially if they're on the monstrous side. More ladies with feathered wings or even warlocks that resemble more of kenkus would be rad.

Surely she signals there will be a release somewhere down the road in 4th that won't make her totally out of place in their army? Surely? This must be what hopium feels like but I really want this...

  9. I'm curious to hear what others speculate. Where do you think the price point will land for Krethusa. Will she be priced like some of the larger narrative releases (think Belthanos, Ionus, Kroak, etc.) or more like a midsized character (Pontifex Zenestra, Warsong Revenant, Lauka Vai)? Seems like there's not much of a midpoint in between those two groupings.

Just to point out we've probably got at least 4 Warhammer Underworlds Warbands coming inbetween now and 4th ed, these could quite possibly be from one of those (a Nighthaunt warband that specialises in poisons made from the souls of those who tried to use medicine to stave off death could be an interesting theme and very on brand for Nagash and the Nighthaunt)

Just seems unlikely Nighthaunt would be coming again in Underworlds this year. Underworlds has taken to a pattern of hitting each grand alliance with its 4 warband seasons. We're getting our death warband for Deathgorge now, and the previous death warband was Nighthaunt.

Perhaps it could be this year's Warhammer + model?

  11. Something that's been bothering me since the reveal - what could the Nighthaunt model with the posions/potions be for since it wasn't in the Warcry band? It seems those thin wrists are a dead giveaway that surely the advent images were indeed Nighthaunt. Traditionally, aren't advent engines solved relatively early in the year?

  12. Just a few bits of comedy in this review.

    Warcry - "Nagash hates graverobbers"

Underworlds - "here's a necromancer cracking open graves all over the the realm of beasts trying to find an artifact to cure her beloved"

Callis and Toll box - "totally not a cursed city expansion with molded cobblestone bases and loads of critters and keys"

This is kind of uncool. I don’t care about TOW game, but I do care about any new models they get as I could use them for AoS kitbashes. I don’t see why TOW rumors aren’t okay in this thread.

Agreed we speculate on Warcry and Underworlds here. This is all one continuous Fantasy storyline.

Which faction will be for Underworlds, anyone know?

What I had heard was Vampires from the same source that correctly leaked Kruelboyz - not sure what "flavor" and how it may tie in with the since rumored "graverobbers" and this cat on a sculpted base. Certainly the cat has vibes of the new Neferata aligned model but I have no knowledge of if it is all tied together. From Whitefang's like earlier though it seems like the cat belongs to one of the AoS reveals for sure.

Goh, nostalgy doesn't make an ugly mini beautiful. 🙂 I am a huge fan of Warhammer, but that doesn't mean that I want mini's back that I find ugly. I will certainly use AoS or 3D printed mini as much as I can for my ToW armies. I am already bussy at it with the leaks of the armylists. :D

I'm not disagreeing with you but I'm not sure the larger Old World community agrees (or that GW perceived they would agree).

Lol, what nonsense is this. It's becoming a bit childish. A beautiful mini is a beautiful mini, it doesn't matter from which company or for which gaming system it is.

If anything GW doesn't want that you can use one army for their two games. They want you to buy and collect an army for each game. That is probably the main reason that there is almost no cross-over and why there are no skaven, VC and etc... in TOW.

I am excited and very happy that Warhammer is back, even when everything miniatures wise that I wanted + rulebook was sold out  and that after I had to wait for more than a hour to get in the online shop! Lol, I logged in 20 minutes before pre-order. Their underestimating of demand is becoming legendary.

That said I am still very excited what they will do with AoS 4th edition, how the StD releases coming with Dawnbringers will look like. I also can't wait to see that Lumineth warcry band. I am not planning to stop playing AoS, because I finally have a supported Warhammer back.

I will ofcourse have to divide my time and money.

I think keeping the visual identity separate/appealing to nostalgia is a far more likely reason than not wanting people to use their models for both games. The best evidence for this is that they are choosing to use old models even when the AOS released version is not "AOS-ified" and would fit on the base sizes provided for the game (as I'm sure we'll see when they market old Chaos Warriors).

Seems to be rumours about the classic GW letter announcing a price raise. Anyone saw it somewhere else?

EDIT: Link to the video where I sawe the letter and the minute where it is shown:

I'm 99% sure that is last year's note.
