  2. I think you’re looking at this incorrectly. You should be asking your friends to prove that it doesn’t affect the mount.. the text as written affects the unit with the Vampire Lord keyword, that’s the entire profile. The only rules we have against that, is what’s stated by GW in that Command Traits and Artifacts do not affect mounts unless otherwise stated. Favored Retainers is an alliance ability, not a command trait, or an artifact.
  3. Part of the new "Forbidden Power" expansion. Supposedly they are for everyone, representing the realm of Shyish. There is also a new terrain piece that anyone would be able to use. Think that is about all the info we have now?
  4. Correct. Spectral Lore (Assuming thats what you mean) only returns slain models, as does everything with Nighthaunt, it does not summon new models. So you would not be able to increase over the original starting size of the unit.

I believe per the Core Rule Book, that Command Traits, and Artifacts do not affect Mounts, while everything else ( unless otherwise stated specifically on that Command Ability, spell, ect ) does. Since Unholy Impetus is a Legion of Night Command TRAIT, I would say it does not affect the mount and thus only would buff the Lance.

  7. I would probly lean towards List #2 myself, as I haven't had much luck with banshees without pouring a lot of CPs into them to give them more attacks, and lots of buffs. Only thing I would change is using a Midnight Tome over the Pendant to give yourself a second caster for the Pendulum to come out of. I think the GoS would be better off rezzing every turn and casting Shademist when its not needed. That being said, I tend to look far more for the competitive side of things.

  9. I’ve actually been running Chainguard and Shroudguard recently myself. List comes in at 1950 so starting with three CPs has been great. Brooch, Pendant, and usually Wychlight for Artifacts. Have switched to Midnight Tome instead when I know my opponent doesn’t have a lot of dispels anyway. I love it.
  10. Haha Don't worry, Ive done a TON of testing. Just trying to get some other opinions. I found a similiar issue with the Black Coach, I don't take it at all in its current state, Also don't run Revenants over 15. I haven't come down from the 30 Reapers yet because them seem to be doing really well for me at 30. Already dropped Lady O just because of how fast she dies. The real odd ball for me is the Banshees to be honest. On paper them seem like everything I want, but Im having issues getting them to work right in games. the 18" unbind instead of 30" just sucks, and they are SO damn squishy. Only way ive found to get more attacks out of them is with the Vamp. Don't think ive ever got a solid buff out of the unbind yet or the endless dispell.
  11. Thoughts on dropping the Banshees, Adding the Lord Ex with Gildenbane, bumping 30 Horde to 40, and changing 10 Rasps to 3 Spirit Hosts? I only have 40 Horde and hate to buy 10 more but can if you think 10 Horde > 3 Hosts for baby sitting a home objective

From my understanding, if I summon the pendulum and move it into base to base contact with whatever I want, then no matter what that monster is going to be hit twice in the situation I described. Since the Pendulum reads anything within 1” of the Pendulum at the end of its movement. So even if my opponent gets to pick the Pendulum to move ( ie I go first ) the opponent can either move it over its monster, thus triggering it, or not move it at all ( which means moving it 0” ) so it would trigger anyway, and I’ll probly put Gildenbane on my Spirit Torment to hit a monster with the 15 Revenants and Torment to try and Gank it.
  13. This has been a main thought for me too. Reik with a Pendulum is good for things weak against MWs, esp if I can get the double turn of 2d6 with it (Cast it bottom of a turn for immediate dmg, and then it immediately does damage again at top of next round), and against monsters weak against Rend I can have the Banshees with atleast +1 attack from Vamp? Think its worth throwing a Gildebane on the Spirit Torment or Harrow just incase? Open to ideas for sure.

I don't want to get the Harrow into combat which is why I didn't go with an offense Artifact like Balefire or Gildebane. The GoS will go with the 30 Horde and Reik to offer split pressure. Banshees, and Vamp will follow the reapers to offer a second Hammer and more regen/buffs. 10 Horde just sit on home objective and try not to draw attention. Can always use Harrow to get back home quick with a hammer. Pendulum is to give some more MW output for Reik after he drops Cogs. Looking for advice on other artifacts to think about, alternatives to maybe the Banshees+Pendulum? Thank you guys!
  15. This was my idea, make Grims lose their discount bonus, so 420 for 30, then make all Nighthaunt an Ally in LoN. This prevents LoN from running 30 of them ever. *For Standard 2k play*

  17. That was a headache to read! I think you learned your lesson. Don't attack Enlightened unless you are absolutely sure you can either a) kill them, or b) defend against their counter! Not having a hero near your units for the Deathless Save could of made a big difference, or a KoSos to give them +1 Attack.
  18. Quoted directly from rules: A WIZARD can attempt to cast spells in its own hero phase. You cannot attempt to cast the same spell more than once in the same turn (even with a different model).

Its not from the same source, its from different Guardian of Souls, the ability specifically reads "Add 1 to wound rolls for attacks made with melee weapons used by friendly Nighthaunt units that are wholly within 12" OF THIS MODEL. that means if a unit is wholly within 12" of multiple models, then it benefits from +1 Wound for each unique Guardian of Souls. If it say that models wholly within 12" of "A" nightmare lantern get +1 Wound, then it wouldn't matter how many lanterns, it would be just +1 Wound
  20. It does stack for each Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Lanterns you have wholly within 12” of the unit. Not sure where you got the within 9” tho? Must be old.
  21. I'm seeing a lot of lists popping up with both a Lore of Fate and a Lore of Change for one model. Is this a thing again? Thought FAQs eliminated this?
