  1. New Khorne looking pretty good in the tournament scene over the weekend picking up 6th at South Coast GT with over 120 players (3 BoK in top 20), and 9th at BrisVegas Open with over 90 players. Not all doom and gloom then Lists over at AoS Shorts if anyone is interested. South Coast 6th place featured an interesting Archaon + dark feast list! Definitely some variety there, check it out for some list building inspiration!
  2. I was hoping that some of the units, namely skullcrushers, bloodwarriors and skullreapers would get quite a big points hike and profile boost to make them more ‘elite’ and allow for Khorne to field smaller more elite armies as a play style. Unfortunately not the case but I am glad that skullcrushers got a 3+ save. Does make me recall their glory days back in warhammer fantasy of being heavily armoured Killy juggernauts. I have quite a number of blood warriors in production on the paint table because I was anticipating quite a decent buff. Alas I do love the models so I will still enjoy fielding them. Looking forward to new combos and list building. Still overall positive about the changes!
  3. Unless you’ve already tried every list combination and battalion against every other army in a competitive environment (after 2.0) and recorded your data, then I don’t see how one can already assume things are grim so early on in 2.0? FAQs for Khorne and / or some of the top tier armies could still change the whole meta overnight (a meta which hasn’t even established itself yet imo). You don’t have to have the strongest book in the game to be a competitive army, if Khorne is good at beating Nurgle and death (as mike found at 6 nations), and those armies are considered strong, then khorne will be good in that meta. If you only see fyreslayers then you might have a tougher time. Really depends on your tournament scene / gaming group imo. Maybe we have different ideas of the word grim. In your opinion do you believe Khorne is a decent mid tier army or are you saying you think it’s one of the weaker bottom tier books? Or do you think it’s mid tier but mid tier isn’t competitive? Im not saying your opinions are wrong (though I do still think it’s a tad early to know for sure) I’m just curious to know what makes you think that.
  4. We are a few weeks into the new format with only 1 major tournament so far, I think it’s a little early to be asking / saying how many competitive combos there are as people are still tinkering with lists, there hasn’t been many tournaments to test said competitive lists, and FAQs are likely still coming. At least this is a little improvement from the 0 competitive lists “Khorne is dead” stuff people were saying prior to the 2.0 release haha. Every list I have built so far has indeed included gore pilgrims but I have faith that some other options will emerge soon enough from the top level guys. Edit: spelling
  5. Thanks for the write up Mike. It was a great read and even better to see some optimism in this thread for a change haha. Congrats again on the great result!
  6. @Mikeboll congrats on team Sweden taking out 2nd place at the 6 Nations event! Would you mind giving us a brief recap of the games you played, how the list performed, what you liked / didn’t like etc? I would be very interested to hear your opinion. From what I’ve seen so far more people seem to be moving in the direction of taking more/all Khorne mortal units in 2.0 rather than the daemons. Your mixed list looks quite interesting.
