Old style Ork Warriors / Archers work well using Ork boyz bodies with Savagr Orruk weapons, assuming you can get a few older Ork boyz
-
Makes sense! Will have to have more of a play!

Have built myself a fun conversion to use with my Kruleboyz army. The concept is a Monstrous Monster Hunter, who tackles the more dangerous beasts that are in demand.
Have created two versions of rules for them, using the Anvil of Apotheosis based off a Dragon Ogor base model with keyword changes.
One is a "generic" hunter template, and the other is a named character version, the best hunter in the Mortal Realms
What do people think? Does it work as a concept?

Found a better theory instead of lawsuit as to why Cursed City disappeared.
Rule of Origin
Brexit has caused some pretty big problems with what you can, and cannot class as "made in the UK", and I'm betting cardstock, rulebooks etc. are printed in China.
Getting this wrong can add huge costs on the import of goods, enough to make a product unviable.
-
Late to the party so probably don't have a huge amount to add. However I'd like to see shooting reduced somewhat in effectiveness. My prefered route would be to limit shooting in combat to heroes only, so a ranged unit doesn't get two chances to wound an enemy unit. Instead buff their melee profile a little to make them closer to a dedicated melee unit but not quite as good still.
I'd also consider a -1 penalty for not shooting the closest visible unit, with some elite units ignoring it.
-
Can't imagine they've got any choice, sounds like something went wrong with Cursed City and on top of that trade sales has been very close to the wire.
All points to IT and distribution issues, potentially too production issues on top (cardboard being one of the things impacted by Brexit)

HELL YEAH. Ive actually been brainstorming the "flamelings", which are basically the flames of aqshy that the fyreslayers tried to contain but it just helped them be able to roam free. Its nice to see someone with similar ideas!
Funnily enough, in the years since I posted this, I refined the idea.
Chaos Duardin, aka the Legion of Azgorth, where the race serves as a dark mirror to Teclis's Lumineth.
Rocky skinned armoured warriors, fire breathing, fire winged duardin, shapes of poisonous vapours that were once slaves but now transformed and imprisoned by sorcerers or steam powered constructs.
Ties back to the artifice and cleverness of the Legion but wholely twisted elemental magics

I'm looking at Sons of Behemat differently
I'm seeing them as an experiment by GW, they're testing to see what people's single model price point tolerance is, and whether there's demand for big monster armies. This I suspect is a follow on to Beast Claw Raiders and the Thunder Lizards style armies that generated a lot of talk on social media when they came out.
If the concept is a commercial success, particularly if Mega Gargants start turning in in people's armies then we'll get more models. Almost certainly another type of Mancrusher-sized Gargant, maybe even a kit that themes them along the lines of the respective tribes. If not, maybe some gigantic pets instead. There's also scope for variants based on an additional sprue or Forgeworld based add-on parts.
Right now, yup the army isn't a big deal. You can collect a whole army in a few months and be done with it as a complete force (no need to go to 3k+ worth of models) but I suspect in time we'll see more IF it's a commercial success. -

We have official Gargant Merchandise now Shame it's mostly feet.No socks? They've missed a trick!

The UV set resin from Green Stuff World works well and is slightly flexible so shouldn't break.
Takes colour well from paints like the Citadel Contrast range or the Forge World clear air paints (which can be brushed on)

This is AoS
All the Lore crazy fantatics died with the Old WorldOnly cool people left who'd say "go for it"

GW resellers are definitely getting less stock as the production is focused onto keeping the webstore up and stocked a lot of the time.
-
Getting used to saving up is my suggestion
If you'd buy a £35 box a month collecting a normal army, put that money aside and spend it in 2-4 months time on the model. It's tough but the prices aren't going to drop any time soon

Does anyone have good links for painting flesh on large models? I’m realizing my techniques might have to change on such huge tracks of land. That and tattoo freehand are gonna be a must to give some nice color breaks. I just don’t have much experience with either.
Drybrushing has always been my go-to for large fleshy areas
Base Bugman's Glow
Layer on Cadian Fleshtone
Wash Reikland Fleshshade
Drybrush Cadian Fleshtone
Drybrush Kislev Flesh
Though tbh, having done a GUO using Darkoath Flesh Contrast paint I'm likely to do just that, and then use Drybrushing to vary the colour a bit

Overall, you won't save any money. You could achieve similar armies by investing £32 a month in the hobby for the 2+ years it takes to get everything via a regular trade seller who offers a bit of discount.
Also bear in mind that Hatchette have absolutely terrible customer service, with the 40k version, the Customer service team and Community team had to step in on several occasions to resolve missing or forgotten orders

These look wonderful, can’t wait to see the Knights that go BOOIIIIINNNGG when they are all completed. I love the color palate that you’re running with as well
Each Knight will be different, either in layout or colours or both

I'm not sure how close I'll come to the official board as I want to mount mine on squares or rectangles with a magnetic underside, so I can paint and base them to match my Aqshy themed terrain and then attach it to a magnetic whiteboard.
Idea being to be a little like a Zone Mortalis board and be able to move pieces around but have them firmly held in place

I'm liking Zarbag's Gitz as a core force,
3 x Shootas
1 x Herda
1 x Netta
2 x Squigs
Add to that a Boingrotz Boss and it feels like a "knight" and his hunting party, leaving another 170 points free, for a couple of Stabbas or a 3rd squig.

I came here to cite Sir Terry as the definitive system for cardinal directions on flat worlds, but you beat me to it!
Same! Pretty much what I'd use though maybe with some more Mortal Realms style names
Nexus / Realmdust for middle and edge, since they don't spin something like Suntrack (for clockwise), and Widdershins for anticlockwisw

Loving the hyper realistic colour scheme you've used

I've got to get a wiggle on with the Knights that go BOOOINNNG
Got 10 Bretonian Knights of the Realm heads ready to cut up and Goblinify to use on the models

I've been using the racks from TT Combat
Warscroll Changes vs Points Changes
in Age of Sigmar Discussions
Posted
Biggest problem is that points changes are basically a page from a book changing, a Warscroll change invalidates the whole army book (or requires a supplement book release)
So as much as I agree, GW needs to sort the rulea distribution problem out by modernising their distribution
