  1. Showed these pictures to Phill Kelly at WarhammerFest whilst we were chatting about the AoS community, he thought they were amazing.
  2. Agree with your general consensus that it's certain build ideas that are problematic rather than the entire army. Flesh Eater Courts issue is that Gristlegore armies are almost entirely Behemoth's and has command tactics and allegiance abilities to allow 2 or 3 activiations per combat phase.
  3. See, I'm reading the Mercanaries as "Dogs of War", specific units you can add into most if not all armies
  4. I'm very happy with what they're trying to achieve. It takes the first 2 or 3 steps if a normal painting job in one go. Personally think they need washing and or drybrushing afterwards to bring them back to a normal colour
  5. Yup, those are visually distinct from the front but so feel like the same creature. The darker one feels older, the more ornate howdah befits it's status as the veteran. The younger, lighter one is still settling in, it's crew yet to win many treasures or accolades, they decry the symbol of their master because they're brash upstarts.
  6. See this is where my mind went too. Your favourite elements of the World that Was appear in Shyish, the inhabitants unaware that their world ended. In fact, take it a step further, the souls there because they won't accept they're dead, so they move through their motions of thier lives, tortured by half remembered dreams of their demise until they face up to what happened and can move on.
  7. Would an Aleguzzler or Bonegrinder Gargant work in a Troggoth-heavy list? Had an idea to convert one up as an overly large mutant Dankhold Troggoth Also, Troggoth Hag, useful or would a couple of slave Shamans work better?
  8. No worries! One final thought, I know I said leave the torso line intact but I'd cut the legs off at the waist. Pose those correctly on the throne, and then reattach the upper torso. You can always hide the join with some jewlery chain or plastickard
  9. Funnily enough my coverted Finecast one resembles this new one as I went lance and mooncap over the existing pieces
  10. I'm very tempted by the set. I've got the start of a Gloomspite Gitz army, and the Sylvanneth will fit into my "Garden of Nurgle" themed army
  11. One of the biggest dangers breaking the trope identity is that your other races become humans with funny looking faces. So, take your Orruk trader, what do Orruks actually trade? They're more likely to steal or claim via brute force. Maybe instead of a trader though, you've got an Orruk collector, who gathers various charms. He might "trade" one or two choice items with another Orruk, if he thinks he can't easily beat them in a fight, but mostly he just takes what he wants.
  12. Sites like this have them available https://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/chaos-knights-horses-head-b-p-3113.html
  13. Ok so I do conversions like this once in a while. I'm no @Melcavuk but I do have fun with projects like this. First thing to look at, the posing of the Megaboss, he's leaning forwards. Changing that line in the torso and hips is really hard, so I'd keep that in the overall model. Maybe he's leaning forward and shouting at his minions? Next look at the legs, what's wrong with them for sitting? The main issue is one is pointing back, the other forwards so you'll need to cut and repose the back pointing leg. Take it flush to the torso and use spare sprue to pad the void covered with Greenstuff to hide the space. Lastly the arms. If he's leaning forward then the axe will probably be propped upright, acting as a crutch and the open hand will be pushing off the arm of the throne. Hope this helps!
  14. Love the colour choice! Funnily enough I went with Purple for my larger squigsz
  15. Interesting idea! Going to have to think hard what suits my theme best, as my renowed regiments were already covered by the Shadespire bands, Zarbag's Gitz and Mollog's Mob. Back of my mind suggests either an elite unit of Boinggrot Bounders, the Knights that Say "BOOOIIIINNNG", try and make them resemble a Bretonian Knightly unit Another one would be a unit of animated statues, counts as "Rockgut Troggoths" but closer resemble walking brass statues
  16. I think Age of Sigmar is in a good place right now. Several armies will get "small" updates, one or two will get overhauled and we'll see brand new armies. The biggest "missing" armies right now are Free People, Some kind of Aelves and the Darkoath. The Darkoath feel the most finished, and judging by Warcry's theme, they obviously had a lot more ideas than they could easily use. Free People are surprisingly quiet, I'd have expected *something* by now. Maybe we'll get an Order of Azyr army book instead? Aelves seem obvious where they are going and the return of Slaanesh bodes well for a release in the near future
  17. Yup far too big and unweildy. Maybe cut in half but there's the fun in that?
  18. Compared to the WarhammerTV videos, I thought the painting was more useful but the overall video was terrible. Far far too long and drawn out. Edit it down to maybe 10 seconds per colour. Also, talk about what you're doing or include more text, whilst I'm not a novice, some of the brush work looked odd (were you lifting paint off?)
  19. Almost feel like the second should have a Skullcannon protuding out of the front.
  20. Yup! The Standard Bearer didn't really have a place in the list, so he's pending painting as a Madcap Shaman.
  21. In general, the Ally's in AoS are good for adding in Forgeworld Monsters (though not all!), and for bringing in the handful of mini factions like Death Mages, Eldritch Council etc. It needs tweaking but doesn't warrant doubling the points allowance
  22. The contents of the Soul Wars box aren't well balanced against each other. The Stormcast get a lot more of their toys in it than the Nighthaunt. I'd strongly suggest that you get the AoS app Azyr and look at the warscrolls on there to get some better ideas as to what works well for you and what doesn't
  23. Greenstuff is fine to use in moulds, just brush them with water first and be careful to avoid slipping. Definitely don't pay GW prices if you're using loads.
  24. GW White Primer is infamous for it. Needs a *lot* of shaking to avoid and it's useless in the heat or damp. I've switched to either AdMech grey spray or brushing on Celestia Grey when I need a lighter base coat. Models look good and the theme is fun, keep going!
  25. Really do love it, and great use of the Darkoath Warband for the crew
