  1. Does Kragnos stop you from taking allies? I know his warscroll says you can't take any other mercenaries, but but are mercenaries and allies classed as the same thing?
  2. If I have 2 Mega-gargants and Kragnos. Can I technically get the Linebreaker Battalion if I make a Mega the general instead of Kragnos? Because to my understanding Kragnos is a leader alongside whoever is the current general. Meaning I have 2 leaders and technically only one Behemoth that isn't a leader.
  3. Hi all, For 3.0 I am looking at running Kragnos with my SoB. What I am trying to decide currently is whether to: a) Run a Kraken Eater, Warstomper and 2x Mancrushers alongside Kragnos. OR b) Run a Kraken Eater, Gatebreaker, 1x Mancrusher and Emerald Lifeswarm alongside Kragnos. OR c) Run 2x Gatebreakers, 1x Mancrusher and 1x Emerald Lifeswarm alongside Kragnos. In my head, Emerald Lifeswarm alongside the new ways of healing for simply being a monster/ hero (can’t remember which) seems to be really effective but I bet the reality of it is disappointing.

  5. Did “Da Bossfist” warscroll battalion ever get released? I cannot find it on the Azyr app.
  6. The multiple Durthu's come in the sense of a themed army I am doing, with large nurgle-like troll conversions. They can run as: Great Unclean Ones, Troggoth Hags or a twisted form of Sylvaneth in the form of Treelords and Durthu's etc. So I know the list will never be top tier, but it would be fun to be somewhat competitive, hence three Durthu's and Alarielle. If I take Winterleaf, do you still think I should take Chronomantic Cogs? Forgot about the generic command abilities, so yes I will remove The Burning Head, thanks for that. So I would be looking at something like this: Allegiance: SylvanethMortal Realm: GhyranGlade: WinterleafLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- Spells: Throne of VinesBranchwraith (80)- Spells: RegrowthSpirit of Durthu (300)- General: My Heart is Ice - Artefact: Frozen KernelSpirit of Durthu (300) - Artefact: GhyrstrikeSpirit of Durthu (300)BattlelineSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Warscroll BattalionsOutcasts (100) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsChronomantic Cogs (80) Spiteswarm Hive (50) Malevolent Maelstrom (10) [Because I had 10 points] Does this seem more what you had in mind? What do you think of swapping out a Durthu for a Treelord Ancient, or do you think Alarielle is the weak link here overall?
  7. Thanks for the reply! Looking at what you've suggested, does this look any good? Allegiance: SylvanethMortal Realm: GhyranGlade: NoneLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- Spells: Throne of VinesBranchwraith (80)- Spells: RegrowthBranchwraith (80)- Spells: TreesongSpirit of Durthu (300) - General: Warsinger - Artefact: Ghyrstrike Spirit of Durthu (300) Spirit of Durthu (300)BattlelineSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerEndless Spells / Terrain / CPsChronomantic Cogs (80) Spiteswarm Hive (50) The Burning Head (30) Gameplan: - Deploy everything as close to the back of the board as possible around some woods with Spite-Revenants and Branchwraiths for objective control. Sit Alarielle as close to their line as possible. - Throne of Vines and Verdant Blessing a wood into their back line with Alarielle, casting anything else that is necessary. - Cast Chronomantic Cogs and Spiteswarm Hive with the two Branchwraiths. - Spirit Walk the three Spirit of Durthu around the woods that is in their back line. With the aid of Chronomantic Cogs, Spiteswarm Hive and Warsinger charge your three Spirit of Durthu into whatever you see fit. They should be in range of the woods for Wrathful Guardian. - Alarielle can do what is needed with her fast movement and high damage. She can also use Navigate Realmroots if need be. - Going into next turn, you have Chronomantic Cogs, Spiteswarm Hive and Warsigner to help your Spirit of Durthu travel the board. Extras: - The Burning Head can help with re-rolling ones for your Spirit of Durthu. - The Branchwraiths can heal, move forests and summon dryads for more objective control/ board control. - Alarielle can fill many roles. She can support, be a damage dealer or keep the board under control with mobility. As for Chronomantic Cogs I am not sure as to what to replace it with. What do you think of The Burning Head as well? Is re-rolling ones needed here? If need be, I could drop one Spirit of Durthu for a Tree Lord Ancient, for a guaranteed woods at the start of the game. Grove wise, I could go for Winterleaf but then I lose out on Warsinger. What are your guys and gals' thoughts?
  8. Context: I am working on some big conversions. These conversions are giant ice trolls (Around the size of the troggoth hag/ great unclean one). Anyway, the "trolls" can run as: Great Unclean Ones, The Glotkin, Troggoth Hags, Treelords and Alarielle (In a twisted form of Sylvaneth). Where the forefront of my mind is on the cool, it would still be nice if the list was still somewhat strong. As such, the trolls would run as Treelords or Spirit of Durthu(s?) and Alarielle. List 1: Allegiance: SylvanethMortal Realm: Ghyran Glade: WinterleafLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- General- Spells: Throne of VinesBranchwraith (80)- Spells: Regrowth Branchwraith (80)- Spells: The Dwellers BelowSpirit of Durthu (300) - Artefact: Frozen KernelSpirit of Durthu (300) - Artefact: Ghyrstrike Spirit of Durthu (300)BattlelineSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Spite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Warscroll BattalionsOutcasts (100)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsEmerald Lifeswarm (50)Malevolent Maelstrom (10) The aim of this list is to slingshot as many Trees (or trolls, in this case) into the enemy as possible and just... well kill. Spite Revenants hold objectives or flank where possible and the Branchwraiths act as supportive as possible with summons. The Emerald Lifeswarm I am not 100% on. I thought it would be good to keep my trees alive on top of Alarielle doing it as well. As for the Malevolent Maelstrom I just had 10 points to spare. In which case I could drop both endless spells for Geminid. List 2: Allegiance: SylvanethMortal Realm: Ghyran Glade: WinterleafLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- General- Spells: Throne of VinesBranchwraith (80)- Spells: Regrowth Branchwraith (80)- Spells: The Dwellers BelowSpirit of Durthu (300) - Artefact: Frozen KernelSpirit of Durthu (300) - Artefact: GhyrstrikeBattlelineSpite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Spite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Spite-Revenants (60)- ShadestalkerSpite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Spite-Revenants (60)- Shadestalker Warscroll BattalionsOutcasts (100)Outcasts (100)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsChronomantic Cogs (80) Same gameplan, just with more battleline available and one less tree. The Chronomantic Cogs aid in keeping the trees as mobile as possible since their weak point is them being so slow. Now, I have never played Sylvaneth. I do not know what is a good battleline, what is a bad battleline and what the general game plan of Sylvaneth is. Hence why I am here to ask for help. The minimum requirments is Alarielle and two other big things. The max being Alarielle and three other big things. Thanks in advance for any help!

  10. How come it is so bad? From what I've seen many people seem to think it's a great addition to a list.
  11. Hi, Thanks for the detailed reply! I am more heading for the cool end of the spectrum, but would like a fighting chance against other semi-competitive armies (Not too bothered if not). I like the lists, it does seem more reasonable for more bodies, especially with the loonshrine. What are your thoughts on Mork's Mighty Mushroom & Emerald Lifeswarm in these cases? I have another list which works on endless spell spam with the Loonking at the back line being annoying: Allegiance: Gloomspite GitzMortal Realm: GhurLeadersSkragrott, The Loonking (220)- GeneralTroggoth Hag (380)- Artefact: Gryph-feather CharmTroggoth Hag (380)Troggoth Hag (380)Battleline6 x Squig Heard (70)6 x Squig Heard (70)40 x Shootas (240)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsMork's Mighty Mushroom (90) Scrapskuttle's Arachnacauldron (40)Balewind Vortex (40) Emerald Lifeswarm (50) (Or Geminids) Malevolent Maelstrom (10) The Burning Head (30) Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 0 / 400 Do you think endless spell spam is any decent? If so, which endless spells would serve a better purpose in this list?
  12. Hi all, I am currently in the works of heavy conversions for an ice troll theme I am going for. In this case, the trolls are bigger and... well uglier than normal. It is my hopes I can still use them on the tabletop. Currently the only things I can see them being are Great Unclean Ones (or something big and Nurgley) and something Troggoth. Size wise, the Troggoth hag. Making four of these models, would it be possible to make them 3 or 4 Troggoth hags into a playable (and actually decent) list? Here is the one I have so far: 2000 Points - Matched Play Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz Realms of Battle: Ghur Leaders: - Fungoid Cave-Shaman /w Low Cunning, Hand of Gork - Troggoth Hag /w Gryph-feather Charm - Troggoth Hag x3 Battleline: - Squig Heard (6) x3 Endless Spells: - Mork’s Mighty Mushroom, Scrapskuttle’s Arachnacauldron, Emerald Lifeswarm 2000 points I am no AoS pro, i just like the lore and making/ painting however I do like a decent list. Does this list stand a chance at all? If not, is there any chance to make it decent with a minimum of 3 Troggoth Hags? Thanks for the read and any help!
  13. Okay, well so far I have seen the light of Slaanesh so the marks have changed. I am also tempted by two units of Iron Golems, they do seem rather sturdy for their price which is nice.
  14. Hi all, Finally I can field my Everchosen at a somewhat decent level. So far the list is: Slaves to Darkness: 2000 points Legion: Host of the Everchosen Varanguard Circle: Sixth Circle Leaders: Archaon = 800 points /w Mask of Darkness & Aura of Slaanesh Battlelines: Varanguard x3 /w 1x Fellspear, 2x Ensorcelled Weapon & Mark of Slaanesh Varanguard x3 /w 1x Fellspear, 2x Ensorcelled Weapon & Mark of Slaanesh Varanguard x3 /w 3x Fellspear & Mark of Slaanesh Warscroll Battallions: Overlords of Chaos Current Total: 1820 Now, I need help with what to do with the spare 180. Another hero? Maybe a sorcerer or some beast running around picking off stragglers? Thanks for your help!
  15. Hi all, Out of the two warscroll battalions in the title, which one do you think would perform the best when running them alongside Nagash?
  16. Hi all, 1) Can Archaon's command ability trigger the command abilities present in the General's Handbook 2019? 2) If I have three Gaunt Summoners, can they each use Book of Profane Secrets to bring in more units, or is it ruled that it can only be used once regardless of how many Gaunt Summoners have the ability. 3) What weapons are best for the Varanguard? I am aiming to kit them with 1 felspear and 2 ensorcelled weapons per 3. 4) Which units are considered "best" to summon via the Baleful Realmgate? 5) Is there a limit to how many Baleful Realmgate's I can bring to a game? Regards, Jack
  17. I’ve never actually read what the Arachna Cauldron does until now, seems like it would serve a really good purpose. I’m assuming I just use the Orruks as the fodder for it?
  18. Hello all, I’m looking at getting into Age of Sigmar and have set my eyes on two factions. One being Destruction and the other being Seraphon. I’m looking at making a Semi-Competitive list whilst also trying to keep to what I love. Big monsters. So, here is the list I have made with the help of some friends: Leaders: Lord Kroak (General) = 430 points Astrolith Bearer = 160 points Battleline: 20 Skinks = 140 points (x3) = 420 points Behemoths: Dread Saurian (x2) = 840 points Endless Spells: Balewind Vortex = 40 points Chronomantic Cogs = 80 points Prismatic Palisade = 30 points Total = 2000 points I’m basically just looking for insight as to whether this list would flow rather well, or if it’s aim is too ‘muddled’. In the end I want my big monsters to be the threat, but my friends pushed me for something called ‘Kroaknado’. Regards, Jack
  19. Hello all, After the drop of the latest General's Handbook it's nigh time I started looking towards the forces of destruction and alas, I have set my eyes of the various monsters of the Mortal Realms. Currently, I am aiming more for a fun list, with I guess the odd few competitive elements but the dilemma I have run into is whether or not I should aim for THREE Magma Dragons or just TWO and ONE Dread Maw. If I run the three Magma Dragons my battleline consists of 3x 10 man Orruk units at 80 points each and and Orruk Warboss for 140 points. With the Dread Maw instead of a third Magma Dragon I have the space for a Madcap Shaman at 80 points. I was just wondering what you guys & gals think would prove to have more impact on a game? Regards, Jack.
  20. Hello all, here I have 2 lists themed around the Monstrous Arcanum, thus using the Grand Alliance: Destruction rules. I know I should play for what I enjoy, but I like the sound of them both equally and cannot decide, so I'm putting it forward to you people and with being relatively new to AoS I was hoping to get some criticisms on the lists relating to competitive play and how they would perform. List 1: Allegiance: Destruction | Realms of Battle: Hysh Leaders: Grot Shaman = 80 points - General | Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch | Command Trait: Ravager Battleline: 20x Grots /w Jabbin’ Spears and shields = 100 points 20x Grots /w Grot Bow = 100 points 20x Grots /w Grot Bow = 100 points Behemoths: Magma Dragon = 540 points Magma Dragon = 540 points Magma Dragon = 540 points Total = 2000 points Game plan: Magma Dragons: Fly around as a pack, or individually if required and roast anything within range Grots: Hold objectives and pick off any stranglers that may be lurking too close for comfort to the Magma Dragons with their bows. The ones with spears and shields are simply a screen Grot Shaman: A source of magic, be it for defence, offence or something else. ——————————————————————— Now, the next list is more themed and probably less competitive but here it is. List 2: Allegiance: Destruction | Realms of Battle: Ghur Leader: Fimirach Noble = 140 points - General | Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm | Command Trait: Wild Fury Madcap Shaman = 80 points Battleline: Fimir Warriors x6 = 280 points Fimir Warriors x6 = 280 points Fimir Warriors x3 = 140 points Behemoths: Magma Dragon = 540 points Magma Dragon = 540 points Total = 2000 points Game plan: Magma Dragons: Fly around as a duo, or individually if required and roast anything within range. Fimir Warriors: To hold objectives/ provide support for the Magma Dragons or pose a threat, since in comparison to the Grots they hit a lot harder, and are a lot harder to get rid of. Fimirach Noble: Sit around the Fimir Warriors and use his command ability buff all the Fimir Warriors.
  21. yeah sorry, just opted to type out the list instead >.< Thanks for the swift reply.
  22. Hello all, I was just looking at getting into destruction, but wanted a more 'mythical monsters' themed list and opted for Fimir. I vaguely remember a pdf saying that if you had the Fimirach Noble as general, then the Fimir Warriors became battleline. Using the Azyr app though, when I select the Fimirach Noble as a general the Fimir Warriors are not a battleline option. So I was just wondering if I could get any clarification on this at all. If they are battleline, this is the list i was looking at going for: Play Type: Matched Play | Game Type: Battlehost | Grand Alliance: Destruction | Allegiance: Destruction Realm of Battle: GHUR, The Realm of BEASTS Leaders: - Fimirach Noble = 140 points - General: Gryph-feather Charm & Wild Fury - Madcap Shaman = 80 points Battleline: - Fimir Warriors x 6 = 280 points - Fimir Warriors x 6 = 280 points - Fimir Warriors x 3 = 140 points Behemoths: - Magma Dragon = 540 points - Magma Dragon = 540 points Total = 2000 points
  23. Hi all, I'm just curious if it's possible to make a (somewhat) successful Troggoth list, using the Troggoth Hag as the general? If so, how would you go about doing it? I really like the idea of troggoths, so I was just curious.
