  1. Absolutely, going by the pricing of Stoneguard. Losing a wound, and rend ignore for 5 models. I cannot imagine them being much pricier than 100ish points.
  2. Going by the sunmetal greatsword profile that came with Myari's Purifiers, its likely their attack profile is 2 attacks, 2+/2+ rend -1, 1 damage, they will also have sunmetal weapons for mortals on 6's. With good movement, 1 wound, a 4+ save and being a wizard unit with at least power of hysh, I'd easily take this unit at 100 points for 5. And that's assuming they don't even have some other special rule like stances, or the old deflect ranged shots from swordmasters.
  3. I really hope they're not 2 wound, or alarith lose some of what made them special. Aelves don't feel like a race that should have an abundance of 2 wound infantry. These bladelords are Vanari, so at the very least wizards. a one wound wizard unit with decent weapons is a big enough draw, without stepping on the toes of the Stoneguard. I don't want our battletome to end up like stormcast where we have a bunch of different units that do basically the same thing. Alarith are a nice anvil, with 2 wounds and rend ignore. Bladelords being swift foot wizards would make a nice glass hammer unit which we lack outside of cavalry.
  4. If this is what @HollowHills is talking about, It happens for me occasionally when I try to click on a thread to read. This is an example when I clicked on this thread, from the forum page. This issue first appeared for me starting yesterday. To be clear, it's not always ad's for this company, I've had several different ads, but they are all like this, full page that you have to click out of to continue to the thread.
  5. I don't really buy that though. Yeah they look broadly similar in terms of warscroll, but for 60 points more, the Myrmidesh bring: better movement, better weapons with 3+/3+ that comes with a -1 rend, a more reliable save with constant rerollability, not tied to unit size. And mortals on 6's. That's just their warscroll in a void, they also have the hedonite keyword which chaos warriors in a slaanesh army wont have, so access to all the hedonite buffs that heroes command abilities and spells are throwing out. Best of all, they get euphoric killers for exploding 6's. Non hedonite mortals miss out on that too. All of this seems like a great deal for 60 points more considering the rest of their warscroll is at least on par with chaos warriors. SO again, my point is warscoll to warscoll comparisons between armies is a poor metric for whether something is overcosted, because it doesn't include comparisons like all of the above. Internally to the slaanesh battletome, this unit looks just fine.
  6. I get that points look high in comparison to similar units in other battletomes, but that is a false equivalence. In addition to more mundane allegiance abilities like exploding 6's, Slaanesh now has one of the easiest summoning points mechanics in the game to achieve. One of the most appealing options in summoning here is a unit of 30 demonettes, for 12 DP. With the proliferation of large threat range, shooting units in the army, its not unreasonable at all to expect 24+ dp over the course of a game. That's more than 600 extra points a slaanesh army can bring to the table with relative ease. Nothing in the this game is free, you pay for allegiance abilities in the points costs of your units, and so the higher points for these mortals seems perfectly fine, considering the ease with which you'll be brining in summoned units.
  7. Rather than a new nation with a wind temple focus, I think we're getting a rework of Ymetrica. The new named wind spirit Sevireth, Lord of the Seventh wind is actually briefly mentioned in the battletome as being from Ymetrica. It mentions Aelves following the Seventh wind of the Sarior Plateau which is located in Ymetrica. The new wind temple models and Sevireth are also painted in Ymetrica scheme, and GW doesn't mess around with paint schemes not matching subfactions) Now currently, Ymetrica does nothing for anyone but Alarith, and if the current trend stays unchanged, that means the 3 of the next 4 Great nations will have to each be locked to focusing on 1 temple, and that just doesn't feel likely. SO, I think Ymetrica might be instore for a change, either we get an alternate Ymetrica for each aelemental temple to choose from, or Ymetrica might change from giving a specific temple a buff, to broadly buffing all Temple units. Remember that Ymetrica has been set up as the "ultramarines, or the Hammerers of Sigmar" for our faction and it would be pretty weird if our flagship subfaction only benefits 1/5 of the army roster (alarith)
  8. When Broken Realms: Morathi came out I was certain that AoS 3 was coming this year (considering it's release date lining up with a similar timeframe to the start of Psychic awakening), but considering how large the gap has been between Morathi and Teclis (best guess is a March release) I'm starting to doubt that GW will be able to pump out all the Broken Realms books/Battletomes due before the next edition, by the end of this year. I'm starting to think Broken Realms could be spread out over the whole year, and we wont see AoS 3 till next year.
  9. Its important to note that the LRL battletome describes zenith in a fair amount of detail. It's also described as the "perimeter inimical" and is basically the edge in any direction of a "realm." Of course this means the highest part of the sky, before you reach the aetheric void, but it also encompasses the horizontal "edge" that one could theoretically walk too. In fact, Tyrion did walk to the Zenith, It blinded him, and that's when he met a/the light spirit. He didn't fly up into the sky to reach the zenith, he was able to walk there. Much like realm magic is weakest at the center of a realm and strongest at the edge, the "illumination" radiating from Hysh, comes from the perimeter inimical. SO Zenith in Hysh isn't so much the sun, or even sky, but light itself. They are one and the same.
  10. I'm a bit salty I bought warscroll cards for half a faction. But I don't really feel cheated by the new lumineth. realistically, any player who collects and games with an army featured in a Broken Realms book is going to pick up that book. So, I'm not upset that I have to buy "battletome 2.0" in the form of Broken Realms: Teclis, I was going to end up buying their BR book anyways, and pairing it with meaningful new rules and a huge miniature release just makes it even better value.
  11. Yeah, this character was based on a Chinese river deity called Gonggong. Which I think would fit the weirdness of Lumineth aesthetics nicely.
  12. We know we will, it was in the trailer. The one featured in the preview is the named character like Avelanor, in the trailer we see the alternate build generic version.
  13. Its worth mentioning that the Aelemental temples are found in all the realms, not just tied to one. So there are Mountain, river, wind and zenith temples in the Tyrionic and Teclian Nations. You might also find it interesting that the lore blurbs we have in the battletome mentioning a wind temple places one in the Zorostramaran Desert in Ziatrec. Additionally, the named Wind spirit from the preview is called Sevireth, Lord of the Seventh wind. The battletome describes Aelfs who pay homage to the "Seven Winds of the Sariour Plateau" which is actually in Ymetrica. It makes sense since the named wind spirit is painted in the GW studio army scheme, and the studio scheme is for Ymetrica. ++++ Its actually interesting if Sevierth is from Ymetrica, he would have the Ymetrica keyword, which currently does nothing but help Alarith. It might mean we will get a change to Ymetrica great nation abilities to benefit all Aelementiri, or we get an alternate Ymetrica allegiance focused on Wind temple.
  14. Yeah guys, anyone on the "Tyrion is coming soon" train is overhyped and setting themselves up for disappointment. They will not release Tyrion in book called Teclis. As @Luminethmage laid out, Vanari are the generic troops of both Tyrion and Teclis, but the Aelemental temples and mages are pretty much all Teclis' sphere of the Lumineth. Not a single thing teased has the look of being anything other than Vanari/Aelementari. For that reason alone Tyrion wouldn't make sense being shoehorned into a release with no supporting miniatures outside of those he shares with his brother.
  15. I mean Hysh is literally breaking apart due to the spirefall, which was caused by Teclis's creation of the Lumineth. So in terms of actual Broken Realms, I'd say Teclis is already winning compared to the other gods. They really need to up their game.
  16. ITs worth pointing out that the next Lumineth Black Library Novel "the End of Enlightenment" is scheduled to be released in February, and from its blurb is all about Lumineth Vs. Death. I imagine these releases are meant to coincide, so late February for Broken Realms Teclis seems possible, if not downright likely.
  17. Totally agree. For more proof of this, last year GW had record shattering profits. This was in a year with pretty much no tournaments, or organized gaming due to covid. Competitive players are barely a drop of water in the ocean of GW's profits.
  18. It's not impossible that we get it tomorrow, but I wouldn't be surprised if they choose to roll it in with the Saturday's preview. It's worth bearing in mind that due to leaks, a nice chunk of the AOS previews came out earlier than planned this week, so they might choose to roll the Broken Realms preview into the reveal show to make up for lost time.
  19. I've got no problem with Horses existing alongside weirder creatures in a lumineth army. Classic Dark Elves from warhammer fantasy, used cold ones and horses at the same time for different rolls, and they looked great on the tabletop.
  20. Wouldn't the Serpent's "tide" now refer to the Idoneth, who joined team Morathi?
  21. So unless the wind temple follows a different naming convention, it seems like that "Hurakan" as in Hurakan Windchargers, is the wind temple equivalent of "Alarith" That would mean Hurakan Windchargers, Hurakan Windmage, and Hurakan Spirit of the Wind are our temple units, with Hurakan being the keyword. For a while I've wondered what the other temple names would be, as going from the book, name of the elemental runes, the mountain rune "Alaithi" is at least in the same general area as Alarith, but the rune Oreali, is quite distinct from Hurakan. This means the other temples could conceivably be called anything which I find interesting.
  22. It true that its impossible to fully account for Covid's effect on releases, or hang-ups behinds the scenes but still... The Lumineth battletome was arguably meant for release (in the early box set) back in april 2020, as the army was advertised as releasing spring that year. While there is a single fluff mention detailing the new wind temple units, they are otherwise completely absent from the battletome, no warscrolls, no mention in rules, and no photographs in army shots. Battletomes are completed months in advance of a release which means that GW knew Wind temple wasn't meant to be part of the lumineth initial release by the end of 2019, they would have had to in order to get the battletomes printed and shipped in time for their (expected) spring release. The timeline to argue that there was a delay just doesn't add up. If there was some behind the scenes delay, that still would have left them needing to redesign the battletome to remove art assets that didn't match the new release plan. I think it's fairly clear that the plan for lumineth was meant for an initial wave followed later by additional support soon after.
  23. It does say that the Lumineth founded 9 great nations in the 10 paradises, all save in Hiaxiah. page 10
  24. So it now looks like Lumineth Are getting at least 4 new kits with the upcoming wind temple release (Cloud mage, Wind Spirit, Kangaroo Cavalry, and Mounted Lord) To me this, alongside the large-scale Slaanesh release that is forthcoming, heralds a giant change in the way that GW updates factions. Go back 6 years ago, and factions could reasonably wait 4-6 years for new releases, which were mostly tied to a new battletome every other edition. Over the past 5 years that release cycle has changed to, 1 decently sized initial release, followed by a new battletomb with the new edition and perhaps, new terrain/hero/spells. With the massive second waves of Slaanesh (Less than two years), and Lumineth (less than one year) it seems like GW is changing their release strategy again. I'm not sure how I feel about this. To be clear, I am overjoyed by both releases, I am 100% a Lumineth player, and Wind-Aelf fanboy, these are the models I had been hopping for last year, and I was disappointed by their lack alongside the initial release. I am overjoyed to see them so soon, but I'm not sure sure I like the precedent. For one, it means releases are a lot less predictable going forward, as it seems like large second waves can follow initial releases at any time, with very little heralding. If large waves are no longer tied to battletomes, and instead tied to narrative supplements as seems likely with Lumineth, it becomes really tricky to gage when to reasonably expect releases. Before January first, and the first new lumineth Teaser, my thoughts were that new lumineth before 2023 were a pipedream. Now the future is a lot less predictable, which could be good and bad. It also means going forward it will be difficult to judge whether "that's it", whether everything we get teased for a new faction/release is everything players will be getting, or whether there is more in the pipeline short/long term. This post isn't meant to complain, as again, obviously I'm happy to see these lovely models, but I'd appreciate hearing other peoples thoughts on how these new releases change the precedent of GW releases going forward. +++++++ Also just to say this once. This thread isn't to complain about oversaturation of Aelf release, or a faction bias. But rather, how you feel about the precedent these new releases set going forwards.
