  1. The spells have a different icon, it looks like a Trivial Pursuit game piece with 1 pie piece in. You can see it at 15 seconds in the reveal trailer As for how it works, I don't know. I expect it to work like a ploy as it would be strong as an upgrade... perhaps it gets shuffled back into the deck once its attempted?
  2. It might not be an armywide ability. If anything, I'd expect something like this to be a batallion like what happens with Ironjawz It looks like a flaming skull inside some sort of halo thing.. I'd be more likely to say something to do with Sisters of Battle if anything
  3. That would make that frog nearly orc size then which is massive. There are 3 troggoth base sizes in that errata document they did. 2 out of 3 are 40mm so I think its not unreasonable to think it's 40mm. Either way.. I wants it. I wants it. Give to froo.
  4. Well if you look at the squig at the base of the cave shaman, it's still recognisable as a squig. It has spores on its top, but it's also a spore squig in its ruleset. I'd say its a safe bet to not be worried about GW ****** with the squig recipe too much.
  5. There's the base, which will give you an exact size reference. As this is for WUnderworlds, the base is either 40 or 50mm. Given how much of the base he's taking up, I'm probably leaning towards that base being a 40mm base and him being slightly bigger than an Ogre when you factor in the fungus. The only downside to this potential new art direction for Moonclan might be is not enough badgers
  6. With the Aetherquartz Brooch & Mighty Waaagh, I've been toying around with this list as an extreme Alpha Strike list. Looking for some thoughts. Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: HyshLeadersMegaboss on Maw-Krusha (440)- General- Trait: Prophet of the Waaagh! - Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch Fungoid Cave-Shaman (80)- AlliesBattleline3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)BattalionsGorefist (190)Endless SpellsChronomantic Cogs (60)Total: 1470 / 2000Extra Command Points: 11Allies: 80 / 400Wounds: 93 The idea is that you'll get on average 15/16 Mighty Waaaghs off on a turn one charge and then be fishing for 6's to beef up those Waaaghs. The shaman is not necessary, but I think would be useful to help the Goregruntas get an 8" charge.
  7. One of them will probably be Warhammer Underworlds given last year it was released Octoberish
  8. Well, I don't want to be that guy, but keen eyes viewers will notice that those grots have 6 limbs while the silver tower scuttlings have distinctly 8 limbs which would suggest insectoid rather than arachnoid. Tinfoil Hat time, perhaps they're thinking about some crazy insect based chaos grot thing. There were hobgoblins that served the Chaos Dwarves backs in the day, so there is precedent if they wanted to explore that idea.
  9. Regarding the Aetherquartz Brooch, I've got a real dumb question. Can you take more than 1 brooch and then roll for each brooch? I'm leaning towards no, but I've been unable to find where it says you can't. The wording on the brooch says that you receive 1 command point, rather than get that command point back each time you roll a 5+. If my assumption is correct, in theory this could mean getting more than 1 command point each time you Waaagh! It's especially dirty once you add Prophet into the mix and with GW specifically saying IJ can Waaagh! multiple times. EDIT - nevermind, found it in the core rules. Would also be nice to have had it duplicated in the artefacts of the realms section
  10. I think this post about Dragons probably has more to do with them selling the 3 elf dragons for the next week.
  11. Sometimes yes, but it only affects your movement characteristic, so one can run if needed, or because movement is after hero phase, I've started dispelling them if I need too (I've only ever done it once to ensure a charge with some riders) As for dudes on foot, I've seen some people buy bits of the crew from Arachnaroks as their gitmob. I've personally bought the Grot Scuttlers from Silver Tower from a local bits seller on eBay (he still has about 60 available left iirc) - but the riders might work too. Another tarpit could be Snotlings. You can use the little spiders off the Arachnarok kit and mount them on 50mm bases to theme it if you want.
  12. For 1k I'm running Big Boss Arachnarok with Shaman 2 x 10 Spiders 1 x 40 Gitmob with Bows Soulsnare Shackles The gitmob are MVP for this list. I've had them tarpit so many things while I go and clean up stuff with the rest of the army. Soulsnare shackles are quite in theme for the list as they act like webs (mine are covered in GreenStuffWorld's Spider Serum to make them into large web tokens). Slowing down people is useful for quickly snagging objectives and the fact that they work every movement phase can catch people unawares if you get unintended mortal wounds. Worth the 20 points.
  13. I would have loved to do this, but alas being in Australia the cost of shipping from bits sellers is prohibitively expensive (its like $25 shipping on a $10 purchase each time). There has been a dude locally selling the Silver Tower bits, so I just grabbed as many as he had. I've been giving serious thought to using them as Moonclan and converting a couple to be netters with spiderweb nets as my tarpit.
  14. I have over 100 I'm using as Gitmob Grots. I'm also using the spare Shaman's from the Arachnarok kit as Gitmob Shamans. Similarly I'm using the Arachnarok Flingers as Rock Lobbas. Basically my army is "If it's mounted on a spider, its spiderfang, if its on foot, its gitmob" - people seem to understand fairly well
  15. I've been utilising the Soulsnare Shackles as kind of a "web" endless spell - it certainly plays like it. I'll be converting mine by adding some structure between the various links with plasticard rod and spraying it with some Spider Serum from Greenstuffworld to make it more weblike before adding some spiderlings from the Arachnarok kit. Anyway, it got me thinking. If GW ever does do another pass over the grots and is looking for supercharged faction specific versions of endless spells like they've done with the Nighthaunt and Stormcast, I'd like to see a variation of the Soulsnare Shackles for Spiderfang as I feel its quite thematic. As for how to supercharge it? I've got a couple ideas. Perhaps a 4th model that is placed 6 inches from one of the second placed ones might be cool to give you some interesting shapes, or perhaps add +1 to the roll for each additional web model in range which would account for how dense the web is. In either case, I'd like to see Spiderfang immune to the movement part of the spell but not the mortal wounds roll because I think thats funny and backfiring mechanics are very thematic. Just wanted to put this out there.
  16. I'm going through the Warscroll Builder on Warhammer Community and I came across some interesting interactions that caused me to look at GHB17 and GHB18. If I take an Arachnarok without a shaman riding on his back, Warscroll Builder says that its not a behemoth. I thought this was a bug and looked at the GHB and the entry says "Leader, Behemoth if carrying a Spiderfang Grot Shaman" although it says "Behemoth" in battlefield role. Does this mean that the Warscroll Builder is correct or is 4 the absolute maximum one could take in a list? If anyone else has looked at this in more detail than me I would love to know as I'm only just starting out in Spiderfang and would love to somehow shoehorn 5 of these things into a list (I am really creeped out by the model and thats cool as heck to me to get a visceral reaction to a model midgame) Cheers!
  17. I've just bought 40 of these to use as basic Gitmob Grots to essentially hold objectives.
