But if you finished the paragraph, its already happened. Even the newest game in the series launched nearly 2 years ago now, and the first part of it is as old as Age of Sigmar/End times. Whilst people are still playing it, most of the things i hear about the game recently are about scummy DLC practices?

Im not saying its impossible but i dont foresee a huge number of people who played the game, got really excited about trying it on tabletop and then waited years to do that?

Then why is gw bothering at all to bring back a game they went to astonishing lengths to kill? They have to think there is new worthwhile profit somewhere to bring it back and warhammer total war is the only thing that has sparked interest in players old and new who would be blissfully unaware of the end times/how hard gw nuked it. For the record yes I believe it should have stayed dead.

    What happened

Well I watched the stream after the reveal one and what he said in that was someone referred to the realms of ruin game as being for the worst game they’ve ever made and then people just started attacking tow fans. But that’s third hand from a stream the day after where Valrak hadn’t seemed to have slept much so the retelling could have been off.

I do wish AoS got more recognition, feels like everytime I bump into someone who's into the hobby it's 40k

Apparently AoS fans didn’t exactly cover ourselves in glory  in Valraks stream of the reveals. I didn’t see it but apparently some AoS fans went rather nuclear!

I think they were going for a more 'Feral Centaur Oberon' with his design. The art makes it look like he has a bear face, like a
Horse-bear-man? The model however looks more like a beastman than anything else.

As an aside, I do like how his story starts out with him essentially getting exiled for pulling a Nagash.

    Man bear pig?!

I have not looked into the specifics for a bit, but in general for named characters you only get what's on the warscroll. They don't get artefacts or command traits to uplift them and are frequently subfaction locked. Sometimes, that just means they should be cheaper than the generic version, even if their warscroll is stronger in a vacuum. And for generics, you basically always have to point for the best use case if you want to balance for competitive play, so even if the VLoZD is not that good in most subfactions, the fact that it is really scary in Legion of Blood means it needs to be pointed for that role, sadly.

I only play Kastelai so he gets the buffs from that which I may be putting too much stock in.

  6. Also raises a question I find amusing but can’t one army be allowed to be good? Especially a death army as GW LITERALLY DESTROYED OUR GOD in the broken realms lore and no other faction has been shat on that hard one n AoS.  If anything f it actually ties into the lore of the vampires being off the leash and striking out hard. But it’s okay because thankfully we’re undead yet seemingly even non undead characters can’t die anymore. Sorry for the rant it just got to me a bit.

  7. Spirit gale was good but as I said in the rumour thread unless your flinging it around with Nagash I fail to see it doing the sort of damage people are saying. I may just roll poorly for spells but if I roll one 9+ for any spell in an entire game it’s a godsend!

Luckily I only need to make minor changes to my suspect Kastelai list due them putting grave guard up. :(

So due to one Nagash combo and someone who spikes Spirit Gale everything had to be kicked into the dust. I hate it.

The VloZD was questionable at his first point value, only LoB abused it a lot. Awesome he‘s now even worse fir every other faction.

the same goes for zombies - simply prohibit two reinforcements.

It‘s such a big pile of bs, every single change.

I don’t care about too tables or netlisters I care due to this nonsense making my fun games way less enjoyable.

Seconded. Outside of taking Nagash for pretty much half an army’s worth of points I fail to see how spirit gale was that problematic. Let’s not forget Gotrek still exists and every experience I’ve had of him has been npe even when just trying to stay out of his way. Nagash is also reasonably easy to kill. I’ve done it with Vhordrai in every edition without too much trouble.

I’ve been watching AOS coach and Vince Venturella’s review videos of the new book, which are interesting, but both report finding Kastelai to be a poor sub faction choice compared to the others. I find myself agreeing with the majority of the points they make, but it makes me sad that it no longer seems considered to be particularly good.

Well I guess that’s true but if the dice gods are with you and you play super aggressive I think Kastelai are still good. Vhordrai still slaps possibly harder than in the last book.

    It’s a fun sub faction.

  10. I know it may have been asked already, but I just got my book and putting some lists together.

can Cado and the Crimson Court gain dysnasty abilities? As the wording seems to indicate they would gain the keyword much in the same way the askurgan trueblades would. Thanks in advance.

I just hope the upcoming SBGL BT won’t be one of those Copy & Paste Tomes

I fear it will be. Obviously the new units that have been released since the previous one will be in. Not getting my hopes up about much else though.

Clearly I don't think so... In the same way I don't think there will be a model of the Emperor in 40k or of Chaos Gods...

Surely they have to release a model of the Emperor if they plan on seeing the Horus Heresy to its conclusion? And Malcador for that matter.

  13. So underwhelming that soulblight got the named character for Vykros. What other factions have had a named hero as their pity release?
Agree completely on all points raised.
Interested to see what they change in both books though. At least Nagash won’t have a warscroll change between the two books though, god knows what they’ll change with him this time.

I have to admit I'm disappointed that the Soulblight hero sounds like they are another named character in a battletome already full to the brim with them, and which is one of the few that actually feels lacking in generic hero options compared to the number of warscrolls in the book.

Having said that, she does look fantastic though.

This! Soulblight really don’t need anymore names characters! Can only hope Ossiarchs get their rules tidied up and there wasn’t too much wrong with soulblight, perhaps the heavy hitting units get an extra bit of rend to accommodate the access everything has to save buffs.
