He brings eyes on it though and does seem to at least enjoy some aspects of the hobby.

Exactly, crimson court as well are fantastic vampire models but their rules are a bit all whacky to say the least. However couldn’t resist them!

Love the models, haven’t looked too far into their rules as got quite a backlog before I buy anything else.

Don’t think this warrants a new thread but wanted to gauge the feeling of others… There should be an option for a vampire lord on nightmare to accompany blood knights and blacks knights right?! It existed up until our new book and the new blood knight models are great so why deprive us of having a vampire lord that can keep up with them without pinions and a zombie dragon? It especially hits hard when trying to run kastelai and keeping a close in range for the perfect rousing commander usage. A different command ability that benefited blood knights too would make them go together even better. what’s everyone’s thoughts? Wave 2 right?!

This is so disappointing, especially as since it’s actual release I haven’t been able to get a copy of the Cado novel so I’m assuming that must have sold well?!

Bring back challenges(ala Cado’s command ability in his scenario) and magic items for a points value. Also as others have said shooting is bananas as things stand. No shorting into combat would be easiest. I also still don’t like how pile in works on the charge although that may just be how the people I play against interpret it.

Also the vlozd, doubles up as Prince Vhordrai and in my experience he’s even better than a regular one.

There aren't many people in the UK who have lived under another Monarch, so it's quite an odd time for us on our little island.

I know we've been through this and his warscroll says he can't gain subfaction keywords etc but according to the warscroll builder he can! Whereas, Manfred, Vhordrai etc don't get the option to. Again I know we've been through it all; just find it very odd and misleading that warscroll builder lets you give him all the naughty stuff we wish he could have!

I tried him in a list not dissimilar to yours. He was the only thing I had left by the end of turn 4, took very little damage but I couldn't cover enough of the board in the remaining turn left to me to complete any objectives. From your game would you say he is worth his current points? I really struggle to see how he is myself, still think 800 would be fine.

I know we are a AoS forum but with all this talk of Horus Ascended at what point do GW release a model and rules for The Master Of Mankind? 💩 Personally not getting my hopes up for the AoS side of Nova. As others have said it's most likely going to be nothing actually new and/or earth shattering. I'd like to be wrong though.

Does anyone have any list ideas for him yet? I was trying to come up with something for him to maximize his damage output but short of Vykros with him and Radukar The Beast bowling around together nothing great.

I just find it odd/amusing given the obscene lengths they went to and number of people they annoyed to kill it off. It also stands to alienate players who have only played AoS or those that use to play WFB and went through the rigmarole of rebasing entire armies to rounds when they could have just waited a decade or so for WFB to make a return; that's a pretty sour taste in the mouth. I'm not against it but I know I'll never play it as my regular opponent has no interest in going back to that.

Unpopular opinion: The End Times killed off the World That Was. It should stay dead. I am not hating on WFB, many of my favorite units in AoS are only so because their WFB counterparts were much better as far as on the tabletop goes (Blood Knights and Vampire Lords really were rather good). I was also a massive advocate of the customization you had in WFB. It just feels like a massive step backwards when they went to such great lengths to kill it off. I'm sure most people at the time heard the rumor GW spent a lot of money to have the Archaon book shipped via an alternative route to make sure it was on sale on time. Why bother just to revive a dead setting years later?

Does anyone think flaming weapon could be a good shout for him? Boosts damage/mortals to 3 per attack. I’m going to try it out anyway.

I think if they had made one of his heroic actions from the battleplan a command ability (probably the first one), he'd be really strong and a really good (non monster) hero hunter! Obviously would need a points increase too though. The model floats my boat and the rules are better than I expected so i'm all in on him, probably pick the novel up too.

The vampire in the last underworlds warband had this version of the hunger too. Hopefully version 2 battletome has this across the board. Vhordrai would be don.
