  1. Speaking of Be'lakor, how are peoples experience with the resin kit? Is it well cast or, like the few finecast kits I have tried from GW, a nightmare of beard and bent shapes? I like the look of the model but am very hesitant to put myself through the agony of another failcast, even one as awesome as the dark prince. Sadly the metal version on ebay is way too expensive for me.
  2. @TheadTheOgorSlayer If you can only reroll failed casting rolls and the spell has a casting value of 8 or lower (which I'm fairly certain it does) then you cannot reroll it. Rerolls before modifiers, and the Hexgorger Skulls are an effect that takes place after the casting roll has been made. It is not part of the spell itself. Just like you cant reroll your casting roll after the opponent has unbound it to try and get a higher roll. If you can reroll ALL casting rolls however, go ahead.
  3. If he shuts down an 880p model for 2/5 of the game, and adds 2 (although futile) unbind attempts, I think he should be worth the points. If you can fit him.
  4. Indeed, that is correct. Good catch! -Nevermind, as Drib points out below the legion is "Host of the Everchosen".. Does the "Everchosen" keyword even do anything?
  5. 10 Chosen cost nearly twice the points of 10 Grimghast, twice those of Graveguard, and more than twice the points of bestigors. All of which get horde discounts. If you factor that you will "always have a warshrine", you should also factor that you will always have a necromancer for dance macabre on the undead options, giving fight twice in a much more reliable way than our Chaos Lord. Oh, and they also resurrect. The bestigors as you said, are way faster and can often t1 charge, while the Chosen will be trudging slowly across the battlefield or get teleported away from their synergies, and most probably fail the charge. That being said, I am still tempted by them, but what really kills them for me are indeed those resin models. Were they just 20 points cheaper i might have considered converting them from Blood Warriros or such. But then I feel I would have to make entirely different lists to really build around them, and probably ditch all ordinary warriors.
  6. Try comparing them to Bestigors and Grimghast reapers or even Graveguard and you might see why. Those are just a couple examples of units in similiar role. They excel at nothing, and are just not punchy enough to grant them a spot in an army with few points to spare.
  7. This is wrong. It is keyword based, so the Gaunt summoner on foot can be taken with s2d allegiance, in the same way marked s2d units (and Archaon) can be taken as the 4 respective god allegiances.
  8. Would it make sense if Knights of the Empty Throne was StD or at least Varanspire related seeing as Archaon never spends any time sitting on his throne?
  9. You dont have to put SoJ on an actual sword, it would also be used on the axe profile. So the comparison is 5a/rend-3 vs 5a/rend- with D6 MWs vs heroes on a 6. I will be going with the Dimensional Blade on my Crackerjack. And Miasmatic blade on my Sorcerer. (Host of Everchosen)
  10. Yeah i know I wouldnt be able to take the battalion, and I do own some warriors to fill out battleline. I just brought up the current list so you would know roughly what i was toying with
  11. I dont have the BoK book but I'll take your word for it! Speaking of BoK - I'm currently painting up my Archaon and plan on running a rather casual list (I think?) without any Varanguard, going mostly mounted and using the Ruinbringer battalion. Since i plan on marking everything except for my Sorcerer with Khorne mark, I'm kind of wondering if going Khorne allegiance with the same units would do better? As I mentioned I dont have that book so I dont know much about the allegiance abilities. I do have a bloodstoker and bloodsecrator though! My list atm goes something like: Archaon Sorcerer Lord Chaos Lord on Karkadrak 2x5 Chaos Knights 2X5 Marauder Horsemen (Javelins) Chaos Chariot Ruinbringers battalion spare pts for endless spell
  12. 1-3: Yes. (I suppose you mean s2d wizards in question 1) 4: Only the 4 godspecific battalions which all specifically state that they can be used both in their respective god's allegiance and s2t allegiance. This is my perception at least, please correct me if Im wrong.
  13. If you have multiple abilities that trigger at the same time, the controlling player (you) decide in which order to activate them. If the other player also has abilites occuring at the same time, you alternate with the player whos turn is taking place going first. If the first ability takes the unit out of range then the second ability does nothing, although this seems unlikely to happen in most cases with 1-3mw. You could probably position yourself to mitigate the risc, and activate the ability with the lowest mw potential first - so use the chariots inbuilt ability last, just in case you roll yatzee!
  14. Soooo, if it's too oppressive in the meta, the next FAQ update will probably limit the bonus to something like 3 extra mw.
  15. Just got this guy and turned him into a Chaos Lord: https://www.tradera.com/item/341006/381359278/chaos-hero-warhammer-fantasy-age-of-sigmar-9th-age-kings-of-war-mordheim- Was considering using the original flails at first but the resin chains were not of proper length so would have required rebending and gluing 2 together for each weapon, so I used my spare parts to make the superior weapon option instead! Still some work to be done but I need to let the green stuff on the base harden first.
  16. Allying in a tzeentch magister and/or taking their new endless spell the tome of many eyes (could be cast by gaunt summoner or Archaon) would let you lock down enemy units for a turn by placing a Chaos spawn into combat at the very edge of the unit, minimizing the attacks it receives. If im not mistaken Kairos could also turn enemies into chaos spawn and is exactly 400p.
  17. This has been answered before in Slaanesh FAQ, as well as some other places. It generates a normal hit which causes a wound roll as per standard attack sequence. There is no reason to think that the extra generated hit would be a "hit with dice value of 6", its just a "hit". (Fun fact: The same question recently came up in 40k with the new space marine rules sometimes generating additional hits and other effects on hit rolls of 6, which they at first FAQ'ed INCORRECTLY to get all other bonuses on the extra hit, and then had to REFAQ not to do so in order to be consistent with earlier FAQ's on the issue.)
  18. All of the Warcry Warbands have had their AoS rules available as free downloads since they went up for pre-order. It's in the "Downloads" section of their store page, as with all AoS units.
  19. Whether the endless spell is a Slaaneshi one or a generic one wouldn't matter, generation of depravity only depends on who cast the spell, or who got damaged by it. (Either cast by a Hedonite hero and damaged a multiwound target, or damaged a Hedonite hero). The question as to whether the endless spells generate depravity points at all however, is in need of a FAQ for clarification. With the way they work, the actual casting of the spell simply summons a model. It is then the model, not the act of casting the spell, which deals any potential wounds with its abilities. I could see reasoning for GW to rule it both ways but i'm expecting them to say that no, endless spells dont generate DP.
  20. I don't have one myself, but looking at the kit in the GW store, wouldn't it be best to just pin it instead of magnetising? (Drilling a small hole in each surface area and pinning with copper wire.)
  21. ... end result: (not mine, it's actually for sale on ebay right now..)
  22. You do realise that blisterskin makes flayers battleline, right? 😉
  23. They could be protecting their noble kingdom against (and consequently supping on) various greenskin and/or sylvaneth invaders!
  24. Why not? Looks great. The book pretty much states their color adapts according to their delusions and/or feeding habits
  25. In grand court you dont get to pick command trait.
