  1. Going to have to get creative! I'm trying to figure out how to fit Teclis into my lists and still be competitive. AOS2 list went up 250 points. I don't believe the point increase makes us irrelevant. Looking forward to seeing/hear what others are thinking. I wonder what others perceive our new strength as. I keep thinking of lists that would include Gotrek or a Mega-gargant to throw in some more monsters and smash with some shooting behind.
  2. Not that I saw. Looks like we are stuck w/o it.
  3. So playing around with the idea with running a triple maw list. List: So thinking here is to not take a warclan to get the free mighty destroyers. Any ideas on how to make this better? Could always drop goddrak for a regular maw and switch out for some pigs and ironfist to get the extra mighty destroyer move. List 2: Thoughts?
  4. I do not believe so. I wouldn't do this in a casual game but in a tournament go ahead! Might not get a good sportsman score though :P.
  5. I will have to check that out, sounds awesome!
  6. @Malakree, I think you may be on to something with Big G. I ran him in a small tournament this past weekend. I went 3-0 against Tzeentch, Legion of Grief, and then Gloomspite. The list was: Big G, Maw w/ hulking muscle-bound brute, and then 5 units of 3 GG with bloodtoofs, ironfist, and 1 CP. My take on Big G, yes he is expensive for 560 points. Regular Maw is 420 so for an extra 140 points we get +2 attacks, 18 inches 3 dice charge, one more wound and a better attack profile. An attack is 50 points apiece if you use the same conversion for the WAAAGH ability. So with the leftover 40 points having a three dice charge is worth it. If you can line it upright, you can have your maw crushers smashing into backline heroes with ease. I just wanted to say I think you are the right track and I am excited to try the list again. With all pigs, it does seem to bog down into hordes, so I need to watch out for that.
  7. Fellow Bad Moon lovers, I would like to get your opinions on what route I should go to update my list. I have won a tournament and placed 6th with the best destruction at a GT with this list: GHB18 List: I would like to update that list and bring it into GHB19 with the new faq changes. I was thinking of a few approaches. Approach one, keep the Gobbapalooza. I like these little ******, they give a bunch of buffs to your grots which can be helpful at times. Also, people don't seem to know what to do against them, and it is just target saturation for the enemy. However, at 310 points, I think I could find more utility in my army in its current configuration. In the spirit of keeping the Gobbapalooza this is the updated list that I have been running since the FAQ: Approach number two, maximize the effectiveness of the grots. Instead of dropping the extra Loonboss I keep him, drop the palooza, two units of 60 and two units of spore splattas.List: The third approach is to add some rock-loving trolls into the mix. The question here is, do I get more by including 6 rockguts or a loonboss and extra grots. I want to include the rockguts, but I don't know if that will make the rest of the list suffer. Additionally, I could drop the 20 man unit of grots for a squig herd and add purple sun in.List: Overall this is a long post, but I would like to get everyone's thoughts or if I am just crazy on some mushrooms.
  8. How would you optimally deploy your Loonshrine during the Starstrike Battleplan? This analysis is my take on an optimal Loonshrine placement that does not take into account terrain nor tournament specific rules preventing terrain placement close to objectives. Do you choose placement A or placement B? Placement A provides you with more board control by placing in the middle allowing more flexibility to adjust on where the stars may fall. While providing you with 6" buffer if the second round star falls in the center, and 2.75" buffer on turn three if the objective does not land center on your side of the board. Or do you gamble and choose placement B? Placement B gives you 100% coverage on two possible star falls, but can leave you out of position should the start fall on the opposite side you place on. I believe placement A in the clear optimal choice to place the Loonshrine, however, depending on terrain and tournament rules we may be forced to take the less optimal placement B and hope Gork and Mork are smiling favorably on us. What do you all think?
  9. Hey, all, I was looking at doing this for myself and wanted to see if anyone else wanted me to do a write up on what I think an ideal Loonshrine deployment would look like based on battleplan. Attached is Battle for the Pass with a perfect Loonshrine setup with the 12" battle-shock bubble overlayed with the 6" range from the objectives. Deploying a little off center of the objectives will allow a little over 2" buffer with the shrine. This setup does not take into account terrain or some tournament rules of terrain pieces not being allowed within 1" of an objective. I want to start a discussion on optimal Loonshrine placement and what others are doing to optimize the 12" battle-shock bubble and unit replacement.
  10. @TheWilddog those look amazing. Ok all, playing in a smaller local tournament here. 1500 points. I am experimenting with minimum battleline. So far I've tested the below list against a Gristlegore FEC, and it did surprisingly well. Having the mobility of both the boingrots is significant along with the double threat of the colossal and mangler. I think I have the speed to get to objectives and should be able to take a good hit from a deep strike. With the moon and scuttletide, I can weed through some units and then go crazy with the mangler and colossal. 11. @Malakree how did the spear chukkas and MW spells/distance dmg work for you? in every game with the colossal squig I think I’ve only earned his points back once. Did you find that having lack of bodies is what did you in? Would that have helped negate the priority rolls? Also ty for the clarification about the great unclean one. Last tournament that is how it was ruled against my fight another day boss.
  12. So to piggy back off this. Since all attacks are made simultaneously this applies to saves that do damage back to you. So if you wipe out a great unclean one with the mortal wound bounce all your attacks are susceptible to be bounced back to you even if he is dead.

  14. Yeah, it makes sense as far as what you have painted. I can machine out some models to get the three color minimum, but it won't win any awards. I haven't used the felwaters extensively but I have used the mushroom, and it has been amazing. There has only been one game against Nurgle where it didn't matter much but did achieve some zoning. I think you can take both just for the extra CP generation. In my revised 2k list I am running both Skragott and Fungoid. That is also why I will be using Skragott as the general. People forget, you only get his CP generation ability if he is your general.
  15. @Malakree So the only restriction is that you don't have some models painted or don't want to paint them by the time BOBO comes around? My initial impression is that there's not enough bodies/wounds in that list and it won't be able to hold up very well if you have to hold something. I like the two 3 x fellwater blocks, but I don't exactly like the three rockguts. However, I do like the idea you are going with all the spells and damage at a distance. I will have to look into the list more myself here in a few and see what I would do differently.
  16. I think that is a solid list that should get you comfortable with the army and all its primary rules. You will have plenty of command points with Skragrott and two Fungoids. I would maybe consider taking some endless spells. I plan on trying this list out next with my squigs: Allegiance: Gloomspite GitzMortal Realm: AqshySkragrott, The Loonking (220)- General- Lore of the Moonclans: Itchy NuisanceFungoid Cave-Shaman (90)- Lore of the Moonclans: Squig LureLoonboss on Mangler Squigs (300)- Artefact: Ignax's Scales Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig (110)- Moon-cutta24 x Squig Herd (280)18 x Squig Herd (210)6 x Squig Herd (70)10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)Grot Spear Chukka (120)- AlliesGrot Spear Chukka (120)- AlliesMork's Mighty Mushroom (80)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 240 / 400Wounds: 178 As far as squigs and trolls go, I have not tried a list with them. I would maybe consider getting rid of some boingrots because I don't think you could use both.
  17. Played DOK today and I think it went well but lost. Played THE BETTER PART OF VALOUR Battleplan and I had way more drops than him and he was able to complete a witch charge right into my Colossal Squig and a 24 size herder unit. They obliterated the herders and put 12 wounds on the Colossal. Sadly they had more models within 6" of the objective and burnt it to the ground. On my turn, I was able to cast mushroom on his 30 size sisters of slaughter killing ten of them. I countercharged with my boingrots and loonboss on mangler. They crushed some witch elves, after the combat phase they had about six left. I was also able to get squig lure off and charged up the middle to barely capture his objective and burn it down. At that point, he had a couple of options if he was to get priority for the second turn I was out of position to counter it. So I took my chances burned down my objectives because I wouldn't be able to hold them and then prayed to Da Badmoon for the double turn. Sadly he beat me on on priority with my sweet roll of a one and lost. If I would have gotten the double turn, I was in prime position to burn his last two objectives which would have secured me the win, in the second turn while slaughtering some more elves, but that was not my fate. I think they are viable if you are incredibly aggressive with them. You can't hold dickall with the squigs which I believe is the problem. Right now you have to be able to survive the double turn, always strikes first, and screams. Squigs get boned on all of those fronts. Stabbas with nets can hold off at least a few of those, and if you can get Itchy Nuisance off it helps even more. As far as the Squig Stampede Battalion, I do not like the idea of spending 140 points to reroll movement, and it annoys me that the Loonboss on Mangler isn't included in that. I do think the second mangler is a healthy choice over the Colossal Squig. However, I think I can get a better result from the 300/240 points. @kamuffinz After six-plus games with the list as mentioned earlier, I do not feel all squigs list is the best competitive option. I agree with Malakree about the spear chukkas and Skragrott. However I do not believe that three 24 squig herd units will outperform 60/40 stabbas with nets, and if you add a Loonboss, it makes them scary. I saw an example of it again today with the witches obliterating that squig herd unit and gaining control of the objective, I don't think I would have suffered nearly as many losses with Stabbas with nets. There is another GT a few hours away from me in a month, and I need to decide if I want to run the same list or make some tweaks like adding Skragrott and Chukkas. @Malakree any suggestions/thoughts on how to optimize the squig list w/o Colossal? I think the boingrotts are doing a hell of a job, but I need to be able to survive on these objectives.
  18. @Malakree sounded like a bit of an up and down tournament for you. What armies did you face? I do like the reworked list, what are your thoughts with the troggboss and trolls? You said the chukkas did well, that is good to hear, I plan on bringing some. I went 2-1 in the small ITC tournament this last weekend. Was playing for 1st against another Gloomspite player but I made some mistakes, and he was the better player and took advantage of the openings. I won a close game against a good Nurgle list, crushed dispossessed, and I believe I was in control of the match against Gloom till the last turn. I struggled killing things with this list, except for the dispossessed, I don't know if I am just spread out too much or if I should mass one side of the board and bomb everything with squigs. I have a game against DOK today, so I'll try to be hyper-aggressive and concentrated. I felt like my big issue was bodies and being able to withstand and hold an objective effectively. In two of the three games, I mostly lost everything to keep the objectives which put me behind in kill points. Not being able to sustain long enough, potentially lost me the third game. The list I used:Mortal Realm: GhurLoonboss on Mangler Squigs (300)- General- Trait: Fight Another Day - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)- Lore of the Moonclans: Squig LureFungoid Cave-Shaman (90)- Lore of the Moonclans: The Hand of GorkLoonboss on Giant Cave Squig (110)- Moon-cutta24 x Squig Herd (280)24 x Squig Herd (280)6 x Squig Herd (70)10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)Colossal Squig (300)Mork's Mighty Mushroom (80)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 190 I like running squigs and have a lot of fun with them. I think I am going to try and be a bit more aggressive and see how that plays out. Swap Hand of Gork with Itchy Nuisance. Regardless of how much I love the Colossal Squig, I think I can get more out of 300 points. Any suggestions on how I should be using my squigs?
  19. @Okonomiyakimarine, @Malakree Helped me with the list. Just some other thoughts along it though. If you are thinking of clammy cowl just take gryph-feathered charm. They do the same thing but you gain an extra 1” move. And just like Malakree said I think the squig herders are better as a battle line. I get more wounds and I find them more reliable in combat. In my opion I don’t think 140 points just to help my boingrots move is worth it. The battalion doesn’t help either of my loonbosses that is also why I am taking the loonboss on giant cave squig to give everyone that extra 3” move. Now If I wasn’t going to run the colossal squig I’d probably look into squgalanch and bring a second mangler. Then I could make everything one drop if I didn’t take any magic. I don’t think it is worth it just for that though.
  20. Just me, but at 1k I would drop the fungoid, skuttletide, drop the 60 unit to 40 and add some trolls. But if that is all you have ready for the table then hell yeah! Maybe consider bumping it down to 40/40 instead of 60/20. I have yet to see a unit of 60 get wiped out. I like Gryph-feather Charm on the Loonboss, his job is to stay alive and buff the stabbas, any artifact that does that has my vote.
  21. I am playing in a small tournament I. Denver Colorado. It’s only three rounds and two hours a piece. Not sure why it is that way but I’ll see how the list plays out in some blitz games. @kamuffinz I’ll have to make sure I jot some things down so I can do a cliff notes of each game. Hopefully I get to use sword of judgment one of these games.
  22. Yo, apologies on taking so long to get back to you guys earlier with a little write up. Incoming wall of text. I attached a couple of pictures of the deployment, turn two precharge, and charges. We were playing starstrike as the battle plan, and my opponent held his heartrenders in the sky to deploy later when the objectives fall. Since it was an open board, I used my main squig line on my right flank with the loonboss on giant cave squig along with a contingent of boingrots. I didn't exactly know what to do with my colossal but wanted to see what he would do going up against a horde of witch "aelves." I also set up my badmoon in his left corner. My opponent gave me the first turn, I wasn't exactly sure what I should do here, he deployed a little defensive, and I did not want to over commit and get countercharged. I moved up a little giving the daughters a window if they wanted to take it to charge. I also short cast mushroom (only a few more inches to get the majority of his horde) but was able to kill about 8 of his sisters who were nice to get rid of. On his turn, he decided to move back a little more and buff his units. He failed the majority of them somehow and ended up wounding the cauldron of blood by failing a prayer. Mork laughed. Turn Two I won initiative and decided it was time to get a little crazy. The moon moved into the quadrant with his sisters of slaughter and Mouthpiece of Mork hit so I had 3 CP. I tried to dispell the mushroom to push it deeper into his lines but failed, Mork laughed. With that plan shelved I decided to cast squig lure on one of my 24 blocks. In the movement phase, I used Let's Get Bouncing and covered almost my entire squig force but the random 6 on my extreme right flank. I was able to get all of the little ****** into the quadrant so I could run and charge which is what I did. On the left flank, I attempted to charge my Colossal and Loonboss on Mangler into his witch elves. Looking back on this I should have only charged with the Colossal because it would have forced me to attack with my Loonboss first due to his Fight Another Day ability leaving the Colossal exposed. Luckily?... I didn't have to live that mistake because I failed the charge on the Loonboss, but the Colossal made it in. Along comes Gorks favorite phase combat. I started with the Colossal expecting it to pop against a horde of witch elves. He? It ended up taking out 14 of the little blood crazed things after all their saves. The squigs on the right flank weathered the storm from his sisters and only accumulated six wounds per herd of 24. They attacked back and had great results, sadly the sisters have their 5+ save that on 6's do mortal wounds. I believe a lost another 6 wounds due to that after the regular attacks. I lost 11 squigs between the two herds due to battle shock and another couple due to the rebound effect of the sisters' shields. Finally came his witch elves attacking my Colossal who weathered the flurry of blades and surviving with 6 wounds. Also, note that the objective dropped on my right flank his left in the center, so I kept my Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig there to capture. To shorten this up a bit he charged his cauldron into my squigs and transformed Morathi and flew her next to the objective along with dropping some of the Heartrenders to capture the objective away from me. The witch elves went first in combat and tore up the ole colossal popping him, and some little squigs came out. I forgot that the Loonboss had Git Shield so I could have negated a few more wounds, but he managed to kill all but one of the flying beats. Sadly Morathi ate his lunch. Looking back I should have run the random herder unit of 6 over to help capture the objective instead of getting into the combat. On to turn three the objectives dropped in the middle of the board. Sadly real life events came up, and we could not finish the game. I do feel like I would have been able to walk away with the victory. I had more models on the board and in prime locations to capture the objectives and hold them. Overall it was a great game and can't wait to try the list this weekend in a tournament. I know that was a long ass post, if you have any questions let me know. IMG_2216.HEIC IMG_2215.HEIC IMG_2214.HEIC
  23. @Malakree ty. I’m not exactly sure how to posture with my list. I know it depends on what they are bringing but what else can I concentrate on specifically. I’ve been gaming out that I would like to have my colossal, mangler, and possibly bounders with 18” to give them all buffs from the two Loonsboss’s CA. Along with squig lure from the fungoid I could get a T1 charge or counter charge effectively to get behind his line. Use my herds as a screening and chaf force to re direct some of his forces or hand of gork them somewhere he doesn’t want them to be.
  24. Playing DOK tonight. What should I be considering with my list against them? What should I be looking for when deciding if I need to deploy aggressive or defensive? What are some key targets that I need to make sure I neutralize?
