  1. In my opinion Khorne has the coolest range of mortal followers of all the Four Ruinous Powers, and that Skullgrinder guy bodes well for the warband. Really eager to see what the rest looks like.
  2. The Scuttleboss is resin thou. Maybe they'll replace that?
  3. I think they put themselves on a corner when they based the teaser on square bases. There's nothing wrong with good ol' rank & file by itself, but it's an ill-suited system for the dynamic miniatures GW does nowadays. I'd be ok with ToW using the AoS ruleset, the same way HH used to play like the 40k edition that was current when it was released, as I care for the WHF setting and not for the rules (which where fun for sure, but not peak design), and that could be the best option for its longevity. But GW sailed that ship with that teaser, and there's no turning back.
  4. He's not the jolliest rumor monger, but isn't he generally right? IIRC he was one of the few who knew about the end of warhammer fantasy and the new game (four-page rulebook, round bases...)
  5. Yeah, I don't want to be a party popper, but I don't see the Old World staying in the market that long with the model business Hastings was describing. I just can't, as much as I want to believe.
  6. Yeah, these models have personality, something I personally didn't feel from the ones for 40K. On another topic, Warcry seems headed towards a new edition, I'm really curious about the scenography that will come with the new box.
  7. I really doubt we get another verminlord kit. The current one is relatively new, still cool, and already includes a neat eshin option.
  8. Looking at the silver lining, this is probably the best developing besides having an actual BT for chaos dwarfs. It pretty much confirms they're gonna be a thing, and doesn't soup them with punny humans. But I can see how that wouldn't be enough after the long wait chorf players are enduring.
  9. Yeah, I don't think HH would provide a good comparison, is poster boy vs. poster boy. Less units and more profit. ToW can't compete! For which armies could they release rules as they already have the miniatures? Off the top of my head: Skaven, Lizardmen, Ogres, Vampire Counts(?) and the three chaos armies (sorry, not dwarfs included). Not bad, that's half the armies we had, right? And then many of them are halfway there (Greenskin only need vanilla orcs and goblins, for example) but not sure how interested GW would be in new sculpts when the main target already owns the old ones.
  10. My point is, TOW being a mass-battle game, it needs a bigger inversion than other specialist games. If army composition is anything like old warhammer editions, a single faction would need as many kits as BB got released during its first three years. Cross-compatibility would ease this: You may use some AoS units you already own to save money, or maybe buy some new ToW kit with great value because you would be able to use it on AoS and Warcry too. And GW wouldn't need to invest as much to complete factions like Vampires, or goblins. That's why I think cross-compatibility could be determinant on the game longevity. Even if many players don't care about both settings.
  11. It requires more time and money from GW to make it feel supported, and more time and money from us for properly support. I think that can make it short lived (I just wrote about some of my worries in The Old World thread, we can follow up this discussion there if you want)
  12. (This will feel as coming out of nowhere, but there was some talk about TOW in the rumour thread, and I thought my rant belonged here rather than there) Without cross-compatibility with AoS, I fear for the longevity of the game. Most HH miniatures are usable in 40k, and even if they're were not, marines are popular enough to sustain the game by themshelves. The Old World won't have that luxury. With the focus on square bases and rank and file, perfectly fitting ranges like the Soulblight Gravelords are practically unusable. There're may be ways to mitigate this (like using bigger square bases to fit the round ones) but rumours -and familiarity with GW- suggest they're not interested in "solving" this.
  13. YES! New eshin sculpts!. Skaven seem to have a new sculptor but they still look like themselves (not in the box art, they're ugly there, but that's irrelevant). These new minuatures look great, maybe even too dinamic for my taste, but still love them.
  14. I'm not sure what those egg-laying albino rats are. An invocation? Creatures from the maze? I don't think they're a warband, thou. And let's not forget we have a classic eshin teased a few days ago!
  15. There was a skaven armed with claws in Spiteclaw's warband, but he doesn't look at all like the one in the pic (he wears armour instead of ninja-rat outfit). Also, I don't think that kind of set would be as appealing as new stuff, ad GW knows that (specially if they keep charging 80€ for it!)
  16. I think it's more likely that they saw the success of kharadron and though that giving squats another shot could be worth it. I don't think KO fit in 40k.
  17. A multi-kit that let you choose between helmets or ridicously tall hats. Here, you have two armies for two different systems, and everyone is happy. You're welcome GW.
  18. Agreed. They could have done something better for such a cool concept. For reference, this was FW's one:
  19. I always loved special characters in Fantasy. Never used them, as I prefer to play with "my dudes", but they add relatable faces to root for, and insight about different aspects of their factions. So yes, AoS could use more named characters, specially from the not-a-god tier. They don't even need to create minis for them nowadays, as Bael-Grimnir shows. Just write a cool backstory.
  20. This is from Bob, the guy at War of Sigmar when asked why does he think the Chaos Tome will be Khorne instead of glorious Skaven: Summer or not, we may get Clan Eshin updated this year!
  21. For me, being able to use Magmadroths as battleline makes the idea of collecting fyreslayers much more appealing, compared to painting 50 clonic naked dwarfs. I still won't, but now it's something worth considering. Wasn't AoS supposed to bring this free and fun approach to list building?
  22. More about Cathay in the Old World...which would be exactly like Cathay 200 years after. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/02/18/grand-cathay-is-mapped-for-the-first-time-in-warhammer-the-old-world/ I liked the mention about hobgoblin khanates nonetheless.
  23. Another vote for the ikea billy. It's what I have and I'm happy about my purchase. Money-wise those are hard to beat.
  24. I'm afraid I'm going to be terribly unoriginal, but my favorite BL author is William King. I enjoy his writing and both his Gotrek and Felix books and the Tyrion and Teclis trilogy are my favorite reads from Black Library.
