  1. @Ejecutor,you have asked and now I shall answer, behold The Mournful Tyrant of Sacramental Delirium Arkhanatem and his Grand Hierophant Seleim-Hotep. These two brothers in undeath rule over the Three Underworlds known as The Tomb of The Great Jackal, and are currently marshaling their forces for an assault on Hysh in the name of Neferata and Nagash.D6630C18-B346-4A7E-8490-6ADF597356B7.jpeg.d4705d60ab51b1f419d2acf3fe898186.jpeg58D0D24D-E0D7-48E2-BC93-DE06CDE506F0.jpeg.ed0ba3f656d9567eec452c80cd6301c3.jpeg9C9E7060-5C01-4CAA-848C-3316C95945DF.jpeg.eaa8eebd742e1efcc447c6bb7355005d.jpeg

The Ironweld thread in the Order subforum is the best home, as this is my personal blog it'd be hard for multiple posters to get equal headroom without lingering in my comments sections :P Atleast using the Ironweld Thread it's in the right subforum and anyone can post to it without it being retired to comments.

    understood

@khadgar567 @S133arcanite if you guys want to help out writing an Ironweld Battletome I'd be more than grateful for the help, mixed viewpoints will do well to ensure the theme is conveyed through rather than my own personal perceptions filtering how things are viewed. Would be nice to get some collaboration going as the Suneaters on my own was a fair amount of work and still fell short of where i feel it could have reached.

@Melcavuk, can I help as well?

I've got two potential avenues I could take it in and currently being at the crossroads is a headache:

    Order(Ish)
    Base faction: Kharadron Overlords
Origin: The Menders Conformation true origins lay within Duardin of Ghyran, they came to turn their talents to mining life, the most precious material in any part of any known realm. Their picks have long since been dicarded instead replaced by duardin axes to cleave limb from body, their engineers as skilled in taking part and reassembling a living creature as they are at tending to the massive spiderlike machines that carry them to war. These menders have taken up residence in "The Under" a void of darkness and cold, living beneath the realmplate far from the light of Hyish, such a place is beyond the knowledge of mortal men and lesser Duardin, to have tunneled beyond rock and dirt and emerged into the madness beyond. Here they have long since warded their mighty cities against the gnaw of skaven seeking to use the Under to tunnel beneath the cities above.

The Menders profit from the sale of Organs on the blackmarket, plying their trades of longevity and healing in order to keep their holds filled with currencies of the realms.

Here I can use the decent varieties of the Kharadron heroes to produce various Physicians, Alchemists, Diviners and Warriors. And with the Variety of ships on offer and create a number of unique looking Mecha-Spiders to carry them to war.

Models: Solar Auxilia torso and arms with Arkanaut grand company legs.

     Chaos(ish)
    Base Faction: Nurgle
Origin: High in the peaks of Ghyran the Menders of old were left defenseless to the encroachment of nurgle upon the land, with all the ravages of chaos pillaging below none sought to look high above the clouds to the secretive creatures that called the peaks their home. For centuries the envoys of the Menders grew silent, and then seemingly without ever having missed a beat resumed their macabre visits to the field of battle to revive those on the bring of death and harvest those who had fallen. They infiltrated the cities of men as healers, wisemen and sages always hidden behind sinsiter marks as they plied their trade. As they march to war however the true nature of these Nurgle ridden Menders in unveiled, tattered robes giving way to plague ridden flesh, vast vats of pestilent decay suspended in glass orbs to spread contagion on the field of battle.

These Menders seek only to ensure life flourishes, by whatever means, cultivating the plagues of their god to spread life beyond reason through the realms.

Here I can use Skaven weird sciences along with the plethora of Nurgle scrolls to create tough, unique looking models.

Base Models: Necromunda Cawdor for marauders and marauder horsement, Genestealer Aberants for Blight Lord, weird science machines to flesh out Chaos Warshrine and monsters.

the Nurgle Idea sounds pretty interesting

Cheers, I wanted the first prophet to be suitably hefty in terms of the Lore around him, I can envision art of his cell being a rocky chasm, vast torrents of steam pouring upwards as three waterfalls descend on him, all illuminated by the undying glow of his gods power eminating from within him. Aelves literally used a Realm to keep him locked in place, resculpting a whole valley just to tether him down. Unfortunately the Age of Chaos meant they never made the god killing weapon to finish him off, his resurgence will be destruction on a whole new level and brings the faction full circle to wage war on Order as they were first concieved.

In terms of wounds and save he's the least resilient of Monster heroes but his damage output is lethal, which fits to my mind what an Avatar of destruction is all about, essentially a Beserker who fights without regard for personal safety.

I agree with the last part, but this begs a question, are the Exalted Volsungr on their way to this or are they more like Daemon Princes?

Completely different model, the first prophet is unique in having drunk deep in the blood of Vulcatrix, he has also never gone into the long rest to await the final battle so his form hasnt entirely shifted to stone. Instead he is very much awake and very angry.

     Base model:

    Head:

The shield will be formed from the Rogue Idol mask, and then armour converted to more Ogoroid armour.

the picture in my head of Surt'ar, can be labeled either badass, metal, or f@#$in awesome! Also how are the Nomads coming along? while im not a huge aelf fan, they sound pretty interesting.

Cheers, I'll look to see what I can do between painting and writing. The Volsungr holds alot more sway because he's got alot more going up in his mind, the Exalteds ascension to warrior of stone is not just external, they're still "waking" currently, slow witted but massively destructive entities that embody the wrath of the Suneater but lack tactical accumen.

That makes a lot of sense, and thanks!

    Bit o' Background:

Some call them Wanderers, Nomads, Forest Aelves, it is said within the borders of Ghyran their name has been struck from every record in that woodland realm. Those that call them wanderers know little of the reason why, of the darkness that took root in the very souls of these forgotten Aelves in times long since past, over the disease of the Wyld that now lurks in every drop of blood coursing through their every changing forms. It is said that these Nomads travel ever onward not because they wish to, but because they must, every footprint seeds the nightmarish plants of the Wyld land, a curse that travels with them wherever they go.

Born once long ago to the Goddess Alarielle when all of her Aelven kin sought to take their share from the gullet of Slaanesh, they her loyal huntsmen within Ghyran. Born children of Kurnoth and Alarielle both these Woodland Aelves found the forests of Ghyran their sanctuary, stalking beasts that upset the natural order of their home and enforcing the will of their Goddess upon all who strayed within her sacred borders. Their lives were full, peaceful and safe in the knowledge that their Goddesses powers within the walls of the forest were absolute, it was this knowledge that led them to rebuke Sigmars offer of sanctuary when the tides of Chaos first began to encroach upon the realms. It is said that these Wanderkin stood as Alarielles sentinels on the very edge of her forest kingdom, keeping watchful gaze across the horizons for any sign of the tide of chaos. Few know what shook the faith of these Aelven hunters, perhaps the sanctuary they had become accustomed to had softened them, perhaps they knew not the true savageries of war, whatever their reason when their faith was tested it was found wanting. In the dead of night these Nomads abandoned their posts at the edge of the forest, fleeing with all speed from the tide of darkness that had drowned the horizon and blotted out the stars themselves. The wrath of their Goddess would send tremors throughout every root within the Realm, every tree shook with her rage, her children had forsaken her.

These accursed Wanderers fled, the tide of chaos ever at their heel as the forests they once knew as sanctuary became drowned in an onslaught of flame and axe. Finding all gates to Azyr sealed to them they took the only route that had been left open, travelling through the Primal Gates of Ghur they fled beyond the very edges of the mapped world, into the swirling madness of the Maelstrome at realms edge. Here, amidts the shifting Wyld winds that ravage the very distant corners of Ghur they found sanctuary… for a time.

I think unusual is relative, one of my Ogor is literally a massive volcanic rock fueled by a gods energy and with a grot priest chilling out on his shoulder :P compared to that a centaur is logical.

I meant you doing anything involving Order. I honestly thought that these dudes were destruction aelves, then I saw the Warscroll
