  1. People keep talking about spirit gale doing 2 mortals a turn but that’s only on a 9+ so it’s fairly unlikely? Or am I missing something
  2. Fiends can certainly do work, especially in invaders. I had 2(!) almost single handedly take a great unclean one with +1 attack and fight twice from the keeper for a majestic 8 stinger attacks.
  3. I struggle with units like painbringers and twin souls. I just want a “block” of something that doesn’t come with a downside or need massive synergy, and there doesn’t seem to be much out there. The closest thing to a damage dealer in this book seems to be slaangors, and they’re a pain to make work.
  4. Syll’esske has a great warscroll, though I need to try a practice game to see how workable his amazing buff is in practice. I do worry for his health at 9 wounds with no ward, but perhaps for his cost that is fine. As for the Keeper, the aforementioned utility is great, but it can output some serious damage with buffs and net you a very mobile killer who can also hard farm euphoric killers. I had one game with him and he really pulled his weight (note, it was against a karadron army that double turned me, tho he elected to take out easier targets than the mystic shielded finest houred5+ ward guy.
  5. Hi new thread, have some twinsouls and painbringers! It’s such a beautiful army to paint but boy I feel like it’ll never hit the table at the rate I’m going.
  6. The shield edit- though if I’m summoning a keeper then other weapon options are viable. You can’t risk just being shot off the board with no ward early game.
  7. The mirror was also very good! here’s the list for the above post. Army Faction: Hedonites of Slaanesh - Army Type: Invaders LEADER 1 x Keeper of Secrets (400) - General - Command Traits: Best of the Best - Artefacts: Icon of Infinite Excess 1 x The Masque (140) 1 x Lord of Hubris (135) 1 x Contorted Epitome (190) - Spells: Lash of Slaanesh BATTLELINE 11 x Blissbarb Archers (150) 11 x Blissbarb Archers (150) 20 x Daemonettes (250) ENDLESS SPELL 1 x Mesmerising Mirror (60) OTHER 5 x Blissbarb Seekers (200) 6 x Slaangor Fiendbloods (290) TOTAL POINTS: (1965/2000) Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App
  8. My hot takes, though this is mainly a keeper post. If people want some insight into how I found a way to make the keeper do absolutely insane damage, here is the list. This won in a knife edge game against karadron. My keeper managed to do around 35 damage to some endrinriggers and blew up a 3+ save ironclad. How you ask? Well, invaders is the subfaction if you want some ridiculous keeper damage. +1 attack from icon, +1 attack from the command trait, then choose the -1 save command trait during your hero phase and copy it to someone else (in my case the epitome - who also shuts off commands). The ironclad was hit with -1 save from the epitome, +1 wound from the epitome, -1 save from the keeper, and -1 save from the blissbarb seekers for claws that were 2s and 2s with -4 rend and 4 attacks. The sword was 6 with 3 damage from flaming weapon. If this sounds like a Johnny pipe dream of stacking buffs once in a blue moon it really isn’t. All these buffs are very easy to pull off and really makes the keeper the damage dealer you want it to be, as long as you keep another fast hero (hey epitome) close to give the keeper +1 attack and another -1 rend. There are many other hot takes from the game, including the masque who did no combat but sat on an objective forcing the karadron player to divert precious time and effort to killing it. I will say blissbarbs do seem very strong, and while I do not wish nerfs upon our long suffering beloved faction, lists which take a great deal may be a problem (though they do die to a stiff breeze and more than 22 do clog up the board and make positioning kind of awkward.) Epitome is also so, so good. I will say also that depravity dice was not fun for my opponents, the charm wore off after the first turn in the games I’ve had, turns out people really don’t like being given a constant barrage of devils choices throughout an entire 5 turn game! So far really enjoying the book, the melee choices do seem techy and strangely underwhelming, but time will tell.
  9. 1” is tough to pull off if it’s the opponents turn - if he’s cheap, say 90 points, I can see a use for him. As it stands a unit of the unmade or any cheap screen performs this role far more reliably.
  10. Are they really making it square bases again. Big put off having to rebase!
  11. Back on the slaanesh train after a hiatus and burnout due to belakor! Completed five twinsouls: Almost finishing up on five pain bringers: Need to do bases and NMM weapons on them now!
  12. Painting up belakor for my first osl based model, and learning a lot in the process! Hopefully done by the end of this month so I can paint up festus for a friends Christmas present!
  13. I've never summoned one, but it looks an interesting piece nowadays with endless spells being a big part of the meta. As for Endless Spells, obviously purple sun is out of control right now, but I also really like Dreadful Visage. Strike last is fantastic and opens up a lot of plays which I really have come to like.
  14. Just wondering why you’re paying 140 points for a lord of pain just to make your twinsouls take double damage?
  15. The reason I don't pick Painbringers, despite them being the best models in the range, is that they do way less damage (even with zero rend Twinsouls will outshine them), their +1 to save is only in melee and it's a 4+save +1, not a 3+ save, they have 2 attacks each and only with 1 range. This means that unless you put them as battleline (removing the whole point of them being 'tanky' as they're now vulnerable to bouty hunters), they won't be able to get all 10 of their models in. Twinsouls with good planning will also be more tanky with a 5+ ward, get all their models in to fight, and with a good roar / purple sun will absolutely smash most units. They also move 8" which is huge. You can take Painbringers, but I'd rather take Slickblade Seekers or Painbringers. They're not bad in themselves, but the other options are better for my taste.
  16. I’d pour one out for the daemonettes but I’m out of bottles
  17. My issue with the 5+ ward is your main beneficiaries already have it! Glutos, Sigvald and Twinsouls are all the units you want in melee and yet Slaanesh, the glass cannon of all the gods, does not gift its 5+ ward to them. The rally and move is actually really good for our newly buffed infantry. 10" move twinsouls have a potential 22 inch threat range, Blissbarbs with a good run roll can move as fast as cavalry, and Seekers moving 16" is a sight to behold. Also, Rally works exceptionally well for our blissbarbs, twinsouls and blissblades. Slaanesh has received a bunch of buffs, directly and indirectly, this season. Here they are in no order: 1) Points decreases. Self explanatory. 2) Tome celestial. 2) Bounty hunters. This universal batallion is a buff to all underperforming armies, Slaanesh included. 3) Krondspine. Priced without the summoning tax, able to generate depravity and providing a tank / dps unit monster sorely lacking in slaanesh's roster? A powerful new unit for Slaanesh for sure. 4) Endless spells. Again, a weaker faction benefiting from new universal abilities. 5) Good battleline units. Sounds odd I know, but hellstriders are good for their points, do not give up GV, and our blissbarbs are great GV units because they die to a breeze anyway.
  18. Finished up a full NMM painbringer. Work being fairly busy made it quite slow, but I started on my painbringer too, albeit with a less lofty painting approach. I’m going to have to change the colours of the gems as red just isn’t doing it for me!
  19. GWs increased level of corporate speak on warcom is giving me NPE lately. every time I see “easier/better/insert superlative here/ than ever before! A part of me dies inside. Does it really have to be in every article and multiple times?
  20. No, but the question raises the new problem with the points changes. 'Why would I take X when I can take more twinsouls' is an issue of internal balance caused by GW pricing them at 130 while leaving other units grotesquely over-costed.
  21. My first cynical reaction is - these look like shades but diluted more? Without the option of greater opacity from the old range which I could thin myself. The concept is interesting though, I'm looking forward to hearing more about them.
  22. Interestingly enough I played a game vs Nurgle yesterday which had a GUO, Spume, and 20 Blightkings. His spume charged those ten blightkings into 20 of my blissbarbs and wiped them, it was looking dicey but he played incredibly scared and ran his GUO away from my Epitome Summoned Purple Sun. The key moment came when my Krondspine and 10 twinsouls charged his ten blightkings. Roar went off and 7 blightkings died to my ten bounty hunting twinsouls and the rest ran away! Roar is really powerful for twinsouls, as its effectively -1 rend for Twinsouls to prevent the all out defence. A funny moment came later in the game when it was decided already, but I charged 30 Daemonettes I summoned into a purple sun debuffed Great unclean one, ready to deal devilish damage with double exploding hits. They did 8 wounds and lost 17 to the attack back xD. What is a weird feeling though is losing 20 blissbarbs and still having 80% of your army left. A novel feeling that feels.. good!
  23. I can see a squad of GG backed by a vampire lord in LoB doing serious battleshock damage to anything from Eels to BKs. Might be worth a shot! Do Black Knights have play now as 100 point battleline that don't give up GV? I think they might. Also four attacks at 2 damage each if they're in bounty hunter...
  24. DoK, Nurgle, Nighthaunt, Seraphon. DoK and Nighthaunt can shut off the extra bounty hunter damage, the same with Seraphon. Nurgle can utilize bounty hunters extremely well with Pusgoyles, and Blightkings seem ready made to take full advantage of being GV. As for my armies: Soulblight: has great potential. Their battleline has the ability to play the GV game effectively. You can summon them from gravesites to avoid bouty hunters, and they'd die in one hit usually anyway if you take them as minimum. Bloodknights are fantastic BH candidates, and other than that you can more or less play the same game as you did before. (RIP Skellies I love you guys. I can still see taking them as 10 though). I firmly see them as remaining mid tier. Slaanesh: Seem in a much better place objectively now with their points drops, there's so many new variables because of this I can't make any big predictions: But blissbarbs died in one hit anyway so their weakness to BHs doesn't mean much. Twinsouls are a good BH contender but I'm looking at faster cavalry options for potential 'hard hitters' (if you can call them that). Maybe they'll be lower mid tier now? Who knows. OBR: I think they're really not in a good place despite their changes. Mortek guard are so vulnerable to monsters, and I don't think their new battleline options have a big place in the new meta. There's too many factors in the army that feel punitive, or the lord gives and he takes, if you'll pardon the expression. I'm more than up for being surprised though. Purple sun and crawlers, or reinforced stalkers might have play.
