  1. You could technically buff them and hope your foe sees a much more dangerous foe in them then in any other units you have.
  2. Like @Kramer said, the rats are ruling the realms right now (they at least feel like it) they are very fun to play, you have a gigantic variety of units you can use, and the thing that made the skaven so fantasticly fun to play is their very strong maschinery that can explode anytime when overused. But what makes the skaven really special is that you can literally go mixed as I’m doing it right now and probaly will be playing them until they somehow vanish (probably never!) or just go for one clan. Warscrollrules have been updated, which made most of the units much better (for example the doom wheel, screaming bell or even the hell pit abomination, which almost nobody wanted to use) and yeah they are a great armie, whith which listbuilding can only be limited by your imagination, and still we have less than those poster-things (soon to be dead Yes-yes)
  3. Hah, so greenskinz still have a existence In the realms.
  4. I can’t really say. the stormfiends have really gotten less interesting since you now have to choose different weapons for each. they have become a jack of all trade unit, which makes them in their own way unic. the Problem just is, why would you want to give a stormfiend a flamer, when you could literally take it’s cheaper cousin the weapon team and just put it directly hidden in a unit of clanrats, which also can be overcharged and then does much more damage? although the flamer seems to be worse than the warpflamer weapon team now, Stormfiends still have the rattling gun and the wind launcher which also got better. Buffed by a warlocks magic and the extra damage, I could see some potential hero killing or even the possibility of destroying big chunks of an elite units. And if needed they will even be ready for combat. but in f you want a unit which intention is nothing but combat, I would take just like you said the rat ogres. buffed by a packmasters, they will be able to hit on that 3+ which will make a big different. Giving a master moulder the crown of something (a moulder artefact) will Garantie that your units of ratogres will be able to wound your enemy. and than casting deathfrenzy or the dreaded deathfrenzy on them will give you a change to hit back even when they die. so if it comes down, Stormfiends are proabably a good unit if you really want to overuse the warpstone shards damage buff. Rat ogres in the other hand can and will tear trough the enemy line, like if they would be made out of paper, and can also be buffed to the prime. in other words wanting to build an armie around melee I would take ratogres as your hammer and the warpflamers weapon teams as a back up for the clanrats.
  5. Yeah so how many died to his 3inch Avalanche of flesh attack in your game?
  6. Well better then trying to steal the black pyramid of Nagash. Oh wait they tried to do that too in some way, never mind than 😂
  7. Yeah you just named it. Stormvermins are very pricey right now (still hoping they‘ll get a bit cheaper) but if it comes down to damage output they are near unstoppable (if buffed). Using a bulk of 2x40clanrats and 40Stormvermin could have potential. I tried a list oit the other day where I literly just had those 80clanrats and 40stormvermins who where accompanied by two flamers a grey seer, Warbringer and the usual clawlord. and well my storvermins did tons of damage. But to be truthfull I only had one game with it, and really want to see how it works against well more tournamanet oriented players.
  8. It looks good. edit: there isn’t much I can say about the skaven right now. but 120clanrats who are protecting you back line is definitely a good start, for the rest I would suggest to you to try your list a few times against some friends out, just too get an idea and feeling for that list.
  9. So does this mean my totally possible to collect, guess is right 😂?
  10. Well, if I’m not mistaken or better said understood him right, he used one of those plastic dinosaurs minis you can usually buy in a museum, and converted it with some parts left over from his seraphon armie.
  11. And hier we have the first turn of my friend ps: sorry for the double post, just forgot to put up the picture
  12. I just played a game of aos 1500we where playing border wars and well He had his seraphons facing against my mixed skaven of. after finishing to set up his u it’s first, he chose to take the first turn, to try and snipe my Verminlord warbringer of the table with the bastiladon, which thankfully didn’t happen, although he still suffered 6wounds. in my first turn I just ran forward and buffed my Stormvermins up with mystic shield and death frenzy. (Which they in the end didn’t needed). the roll of went to the favor of the seraphon player, which he chose to take the turn again, and well started moving towards my unit of clanrats which were nervously listening to the chitter-talk of my Grey seer while protecting two whole warpflamer weapon teams. he then charged his whole army into my clanrats and well killed of 26of them, thankfully my clanrats were all inspired by the robes my grey seer was wearing and so considered to stay in combat. in my second turn, the Verminlord warbringer the elite red guard from Queek Headtaker and the clawlord, charged his bastiladon who dared to eat some of my pity clanrats, before that though my 2warpflamers managed to burn-kill 15Saurus guards which where rocking with the battailon he took and a hero a 2+save, but both died trough the treacherous grey seer, who definitively had his paws on those engines. (I rolled two ones😂) in the combat phase I choose to go first with my Stormvermins who where buffed by the Verminlord and the clawlord, with which they where putting out 3attacks hitting on 3s and wounding on 2 while rerolling wound and got rolled of 1. And well they killed of a whole unit of 5saurus guard who also where rocking a 2+ save ignoring my rend and the bastiladon. leafing only his slann, a saurus hero on foot, and the saurus hero on the carnosaurus. sadly his saurus hero on foot was slaughtered afterwards by my very mad Warbringer who was thirsting for blood, using his commandtrait which gave him +3 attacks to every melee weapon he has. In the third turn, I won priority and chose to go first, which lead to the death of his Slann who funnily said died twice. having only his carnosaurus left on the field, who got stuck in with my clanrats, he surrendered to the might of clan mors and well we shaked hands. thoughts: so I would say that the winners of my armie where the clanrats. I know they didn’t really do much except for dying but, they where probaly the unit who kept my warpflamers alive, who then killed of his unstoppable force of saurus guards. The flamers are nice too, they don’t look like thread but can put a lot and i really mean a lot of damage out, against units that have a wound characteristic of 1-2 and at least 5models. the Stormvermins, are still very costly but when buffed right they will tear trough any units. 2second turn of the skaven 3rd turn of the skaven.
  13. Yeah, well maybe they’ll get cheaper with ghb 2019. Anyways will be trying out a 1500p list tomorrow, and was wondering what your frights where about it. It consist of: 1Verminlord warbringer:260p (General, artefacts, commanabillity not sure yet) 1Clawlord:100p (traits etc. Not known yet) 1grey seer: 120p battleline: 40Stormvermins:500p 2x40clanrats:400p others: 2x1warpflamers:140p
  14. Nah, I don’t really believe stormvermin will be a must take. I can see that will have many options where Stormvermins definitely won’t be needed at all. clanrats do the tricks just fine as meathsields, and when needed a hammer well, we still have other great options like ratogres, Stormfiends etc.
  15. It depends on your own story I guess. for example I’m going for a clan mors themed armie, which has overtaken many smaller clans moulder and Skryre, which is why they all have a unified color in my armie. Edit: if making up a small history of your clan isn’t really your thing, I can tell you that painting the skaven all a bit similar, will garantie you a much easier and faster finish if the models.
  16. Don’t know, it looks good on paper, if you can throw out the damage before you die. but hey I’ll be using two of them tomorrow so, if you guys are interested in how good they were I’ll happily report my battle in her😁.
  17. Well the easiest way for painting clanrats is to just use like one color on the clothing (2 if the primer you used looks ok). It’s a good way of painting your clanrats quick, and knowing what color you want makes it less hard to think and always having to dip into another paintingjug. as for your question, I usually paint them mixed match.
  18. A skaven preview just came out. the thing that I find very, very interesting is this bit: ”Lightning spell can be cast as many times as you like by different Wizards.”
  19. Don’t forget the possibility of taking Stormvermins as battleline.🧐
  20. Ah reminds me of that Skaven army that was showcased in Warhammer Community
