  1. There's also strong hints of stuff coming in the fall - which makes sense. There's Orktober, AT and such releases coming up and chances are we'll be seeing Genestealer cults end of this month (since Spacewolves took the first slot I'd wager preorders next week are cultist codex and models).
  2. Surprised there's no fantasy news from FW, I'm guessing that this means their new sigmar team must be very new and thus we might not see anything until next year at this rate - a shame but was hoping they might have sneaked a few hints or pre-design stuff.
  3. Well the weekend event only just got started More is likely to come we can hope!
  4. There is still more to come! The Bull hint suggests that we don't yet know who its for which suggests NEW FACTION release or at least big update to an existing one
  5. Yeah they've probably said keep your eyes on the stage and do your blogging and sharing of content after its finished. It's fair to those who have paid to travel and attend the event.
  6. Current time in Germany is 9:36 and Warhammer fest runs from 10-6 today and 10-4 tomorrow. So it starts in just over 20 minutes from the time of this posting
  7. In Summary: Hag Queens and Slaughter Queens know 2 prayers native to them on their warscroll. - Rune of Khaine and Touch of Death. They may gain a free third prayer if there are any Avatars of Khaine in the army (baring in mind that the avatars on a Cauldron also count and require animating just like the freestanding ones). If you are playing a Daughters of Khaine army then they gain access to the Prayers of the Khainite Cult and learn an additional prayer from the table on page 55. This Prayer can only be attempted to be prayed for once per HERO phase (not one per turn) across the whole army. A pray starts when you roll the dice to see if it works so even if you fail the roll you cant' try again until the next hero phase. When they take a prayer from the table they can also pray twice in the same hero phase and can attempt to pray for any of the prayers they know for both of those pray attempts. If they take the Khainite Pendant then they can pray 3 times - not including the additional prayer from choosing a prayer from the table so could pray 4 times! This sounds broken but remember for any one of those 4 attempts to pray if they roll a 1 they get D3 wounds instead of 1, so it can also backfire and kill them!
  8. @JD222 as I was writing a reply a bout the number of prayers a queen knows I was reminded of the animation prayer and it did indeed confuse me for a moment about the limit per turn and was trying to find if there was a reference on that prayer to let it be used more than once per turn, since if it was limited it would make avatars almost useless if you had more than one. You are indeed right that its the Kult prayers that are limited I'm going to stick this one in the FAQ/Index thread because it has some potential to confused and its a good reminder
  9. Ahh I misremembered casting! That being the case then yes I'd agree that they can only attempt to pray for any particular prayer once per turn, so even if you fail to ask a prayer you can't then attempt to pray for it with another priest. However that still leaves DoK ahead because their prayers can't be countered by enemy wizards; so you're really only up against the dice gods in terms of if it works or fails.
  10. Its not in the Designers commentary though I always thought it was similar to spells in that it refers to the successful prayer having its effect. So if one unit prays and fails another can instead pray that same prayer. That would be my interpretation; the book complicates it because unlike spells, there is no specific wording to divide attempting to pray with the success of the preying.
  11. Also just saw that the warscrolls and dice for DoK are no longer listed on the GW UK store and the collected dice scrolls and codex collection is discontinued
  12. It's £630 direct from GW. That assumes not a single Witch wasted/lots otherwise it goes to just over £700! In contrast you can build 75 Melusai for £450 and then only need one cauldron kit for the Bloodwrack and have a full 2K army - and it works! Kind of mind boggling that the most basic troop costs more to fill out the army than the elite troop choice!
  13. Considering its Warhammerfest tomorrow we might hear more than just greenskin news (although considering Orktober is coming up too I'm guessing its going to be pretty green all round!)
  14. Brave and loyal fans of Sigmar - Generals and Troops I come to you with a proposition! You might have seen the cheatsheet/reference guide that I've started recently, both for Age of Sigmar core rules and for the Daughters of Khaine faction. I'd like to invite you not just to contribute to the core rules thread (by posting in it with details and references) but also to ask if one of you might pick up the torch and manage a similar thread for Stormcast. As I don't have their battletome nor collect/play them I can't really manage such a thread with any level of quality as I can't even check basic references or such. However if one of you wants to start and help out please do - it would be a great thing not just for new players ,but for experienced ones too and can help cut down on repeat questions requiring long answers For reference the two threads in question are: Core rules https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/19353-age-of-sigmar-reference-and-cheat-sheet-tga-project/ Daughters of Khaine Example https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/19358-daughters-of-khaine-reference-and-cheat-sheet/
  15. @Rekmeister The more info the better. I might split it into to parts so that the "index/cheatsheet" part is separated from tactical ideas/choices/bonuses etc... Especially as some areas, like temple selection, almost require a thread of their own since whilst some are more easily powerful than others, most do still hinge on the context of the army choices, player tactics and even opponent.
  16. DoK players please take note and help contribute : @Chris Tomlin could this please be added to the first post?
  17. Honestly I think a lot of DoK players miss that comment because (like a lot of sigmar rules) its not where you expect it to be and where you expect the info to be actually says only once. I think we need to produce our own "cheat sheet" for info like this in the DoK battletome for players to reference whereas otherwise its info so easily overlooked. (for reference its found in the Prayers page in the Battletome - essentially if you are playing a Battletome DoK army you get to pick 1 prayer from the prayer table (like picking a spell from the lore) however if you do pick a prayer from the table you get an extra pray per turn (which is in counter to the "Once per turn" limit stated on the Priest Warscrolls - which is where 99.9% of people will look for that info). Two Prayers a turn changes their versatility a LOT and it wouldn't even surprise me if GW even forgot that rule when pricing the Hag Queen at 60 points
  18. If I recall right December can be a bit slower as GW tends to focus fully on production of existing lines to meet the Christmas and New Years buying demand - though army deals also appear for select armies so it can be worth holding onto some budget as if you are lucky your might get an army deal to bolster or start an army. Plus there's the natural slowdown over the Christmas to New Years period - although if memory serves whilst GW does get holidays they don't slow down that much. That said the new year is hinted at being the Slaanesh release (we know its coming as there's at least one rumour model with very slaanesh style design) since for the last 3 years its been one of the four chaos gods and, unless they pull the Horned Rat surprise, its high time for Slaanesh to get a turn (it would also be a neat point to advance the Sigmar Storyline some more and have some major event surrounding the Prince and his Prison)
  19. Yes and no. I honestly think the best approach is to keep several of them and flesh them out like Daughters of Khaine and then have a couple that are gathered up as an allied force so that they remain viable but are either allied together always (so they can take each others units without the allies limit hurting them) and so that other factions can still use them. That is the best of both worlds - keeps the faction numbers down and yet keeps things in the range.
  20. Age of sigmar needs a series of big releases; they've split the Aelves up so much that they've got to get several full factions marketed out there for them. They didn't "have too" as they could have put them back together and had the old armies back; but if they stick to split Aelves they've got to be bolstered. Same for the human factions. Now Darkling Covens could be bolstered up fairly well with only one or two new models and a bit of marketing focus (of all the old Dark Elf groups they have the most units)
  21. No deal with @Positivevictim was reached so Reavers and Seaguard added to the first post for sale - prices and photos edited into that post as well.
  22. @Positivevictim Good news! I found 20 Sea Guard (14 regular, 2 standard, 2 horns, 2 champions) and 10 Reavers. Note that the reavers are not assembled though a handful are lightly pushed together and would only require a bit of careful prising to separate (or can be push fit together with a bit of glue and then cleaned up) I've not shown the square bases for them (I'm assuming you'll put them on the rounder bases for modern AoS use?) but if you want them I can dig out sufficient bases for them as well. I would say £20 for the Reavers and £25 for the Sea Guard and (as said above) Skycutter £32 Total 20+25+32 = £77 and I would say £82 including paypal and postage. If that sounds fair drop me a private message and we can chat further.
  23. @Aspirant Snaeper I just sat down and worked out the difference between each level and it looks fairly solid with little waste over time; however I'd encourage you to consider adding a second Cauldron kit earlier rather than later. That would give you access to more hag queens as my feeling is that you're undersupporting your army once you're going past the 1500 points and getting into 2000 points. I know a cauldron is a big addition (cost, time, paint etc...) but I think it would be worth it.
  24. Darn it stop making me want an army of snakes too!! Someone quick do an army of khinerai!
  25. @Positivevictim its all new in the box unless otherwise stated (photos in the spoiler- they are a touch old so show a few things not up for sale) - the content isn't the Isle of Blood but is the old Battleforce set. However now you mention I do believe I have some reaverss and might have some seaguard (I'd have to dig through to find out if I've got the latter).
