  1. Yeah, concussors are best for all round battle. Fulmenators are awesome if you get the charge in and go first.
  2. Beautiful paintjob. It looks great!
  3. Really cool stuff! The gryph chargers look ok'ish, but difficult to tell from the picture. Their axes seem very light compared to the stormcast. The balistas look awesome. Must be awesome in gameplay as well(?) 36" range(?) The general is cool although I still like the battlecat better so far.
  4. F-ing Awesome! Really like the look of the lighter infantry and the gryph hounds. The new cavalry sounds great - cannot wait to see it. Chapter tactics are cool. Looking forward to see the new battletome.
  5. I have played some with artillery. The artillery is defintely vulnable to fire and especially units dropping down or entering from any board edge. However, artillery is also quite powerful and still has a role in many armies. It is normally quite easy to keep crew out of range from non artillery handguns, arrows etc. Range is normally to short to hit the artillery until round 2 or 3. Plus some artillery is indirect fire, which allows it to be in cover from shooting - and at least the crew get +1 armor save by hidding behind their warmachine. Also note some crew are quite numerous - trebuchet crew is five if I recall correctly. Not that easy to kill for smaller units. obviously 2 person crews are super vulnable. Artillery can also move and shoot. That sometimes allows them to get out of charge or shooting range - essentially buying them another round of shooting until they are attacked. Everything can be killed, but I feel most Order artillery pieces are useful for matched play although some might not make it to Tournaments as value vs. points is low. Still fun to play with though.

Beautiful paint job! The white is great as already pointed out. You can rightly be proud of this one.

Impressive work! Great inspiration for my own army. Thanks for sharing

Awesome comversions! They look really nice and fit the theme great. What kits have you used as the basis for the conversions?
  9. Thanks for the insights, guys. Really helpful. I am going to convert one of the reavers into an archmage by combining two models from the spire of dawn box.
  10. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I do not think the elves (in their various forms) are a powerful army. I do think it is pretty versatile though - and that counts for a lot when it comes to having fun games. A lot of the magic and spells are army wide which makes it easier to combine units across the many smaller factions of Elves GW made when transitioning to AoS.
  11. Very interesting lists. Thanks for sharing. They are great inspiration. I have shared three spire of dawn boxes as well with friends from the club. I am aiming to test out the army before starting the momentous task of painting the full army.
  12. As pointed out you will need at least a unit of retributors and a unit of judicators with bows no matter what. The castellan is also a safe choice. Consider some cavalry as well for some counterattack and to grab distant objectives. The teleport banner is also very powerful and will help you move units around if you lack mobility.
  13. I tried this just when the judicatory set came out as I had a number of basic starter set liberator troops left. However, I had no luck (or enough skill) to pull it of. I hope you will succeed and then I will shamelessly steal your tricks Good luck - please keep us updated.
  14. Aggesut, I believe you are right. I doubt that is how GW wanted it to be played/paid for, but you are probably right in that it is the way to interpret it as things stand right now. In that sense the phoenix with annoited would cost 560 points, but only regenrate itself on 4+. Makes the whole thing kind of broken and an almost useless model in matched games. In other words it would be much better to have two phoenix from the beginning of the game for 280 and just not make the 4+ roll at all.
