  1. I think though that where lies the question, was Anvils of Heldenhammer suppose to be the shooty stormhost? Because other than it's CA (which I'm pretty sure they would have made it only be a Melee Double Fight in a newer book) all the other abilities don't really do anything with shooting. Now to be fair the Stormhosts are a hot mess due to them somehow shoving down 8 in a book (I mean BoC can't even balance 3) and the mere existence of Staunch Defender. So I think one stormhost being rebuilt from the ground up to be the "shooty" one would be a possibility.
  2. Maybe have it limited to short range shooting? Like enemy is within 8" or so? So it's more of a "Shoot when you see the whites of their eyes" kind of command rather than a 40k Firebase. Plus then you can't combo it with the Deep Strike without moving.
  3. That actually already exists in other armies so it could work. Orruk Ardboyz are only Battleline in A Big Waaagh army when there are 10+ models and Ogor Leadbealchers are only Battleline if you have a Gutbuster General and they have 4+ models. So Dracoths could have a 4+ Model limit. Another option would be maybe a rule where only 1 Unit of Dracoths (or insert other unit here) may be taken as Battleline. Kind of like some old 40k/fantasy rules. While that currently doesn't exist in AoS, Cities of Sigmar has a somewhat similar Retinue rule that only affects 1 unit in your army.
  4. I mentioned this in other topics but the theme of each city doesn't exactly fit each realm. While it may be hard to recton everyone to be everywhere else, I think it should be allowed for particular cities to have access to other realm items due to Trade, Treasure Seeking, or Personal Preference of the leaders. (Lets be real here Hammerhal probably has relics from every realm, but I'm not going to touch that. Instead the gold boys can take their own things, or is that too much?) Hammerhal: Sigmar's Chosen - Stormcast Eternal Heroes in this army may take Artefacts from Battletome: Stormcast Eternals. Anvilgard: The Port of Shadows - This army may also be chosen to be from the Ghur or Ulgu. In addition 1 in 4 units may be Daughters of Khaine or Idoneth Deepkin. They gain the Cities of Sigmar and Anvilgard Keyword. Bonus Rule idea! Serpentine Tamers - This army may include Carmine Dragons, Basilisks, and Merwyrms. They gain the Order Serpentis, Scourge Privateers, Cities of Sigmar and Anvilgard Keyword, and may be chosen to have a Drakeblood Curse. Basilisks and Merwyrms gain the Order Keyword as well. Tempest's Eye: Chamon Traders - This army may be chosen to be from Chamon. Bonus Rule idea: In addition one Tempest Eye Skyvessel may take a Great Endrinwork from Battletome: Kharadron Overlords. Hallowheart: Seekers of Knowledge - This army may also be chosen to be from Hysh. The Living City: Wild Hunters - This army may also be chosen to be from Ghur. (also I was thinking of a rule that if you had any Sylvaneth Heroes, then you could set up a Wyldwood. But that sounds a bit much.) Greywater Fastness: Masters of Metal and Fire - This army may also be chosen to be from Chamon or Aqshy. The Phoenicium: The Cycle of Rebirth - This army may also be chosen to be from Shyish. Honestly this is mostly for flavor, not really game balance so disclaimer!
  5. How about Knight Questors going to 90pts and, much like Grimwarth Beserkers/Doomseerkers, do not count as a Leader? I think then it might be worthwhile to have 1 or 2 running around your army. I just like the idea of having a wandering knight on a quest doing stuff in the army.
  6. You know while Brag has been regulated to being just another Maneater, doesn't he make an excellent Butcher stand in? I mean his entire purpose back then was to be an Ogre Executioner. I'd say Mid to Mid High Tier depending on how you go with them. They're no Skaven or FEC, but I think GW has done a pretty good job of making 2.0 books at least mid tier.
  7. Well for better or for worse I don't exactly expect Nurgle to get updated for a few good calendar quarters, so I picked up a pretty pristine copy of the book at a HPB for $5! Strangely it was $8 normally (then I added a +40% coupon.) Meanwhile they still wanted like $13 for the classic beasts of chaos book. Time to spread the rot!
  8. Go full dark souls and put a sack on their heads!
  9. Are you allowed some non GW stuff? Titan Forge has pirate themed ogres that may also make a good mix.
  10. I think thats Warhammer's "thing". Each writer sort of gets to do whatever they want. Or at least it was far more prominent back then. Remember when Space Wolves got Free/Discounted Special Weapons? Almost no one else had that rule!
  11. Well technically all Brayherd units can ambush in BoC allegiance.
  12. I know Brother Vinni has some, but be warned most are topless females so you may want to get those covered up. I mean great for slaanesh or dark eldar, but may not always be tabletop friendly.
  13. I think Orruks and Cities of Sigmar also have that as well. But I haven't checked. Seems weird that OM would be signaled out unless they simply forgot to put that text in.
  14. Usually Warscroll is is a day or two after the book is out.
  15. I'm curious if theres going to be much fluff about some ogors turning to nagash and joining the FEC. I mean Crypt Horrors are basically Ogor Ghouls.
  16. Don't you mean Halfling Proxies?🤪 It's feasting time boys!
  17. Hello, I just wanted to share my ideas on making the gargant (of both varieties) a bit more attractive model to use. What do you think. All Gargants Change Drunken Stagger to “If a charge roll for this model is a double, this model’s charge move is half of that result.” (I didn't want to completely remove the "weakness" of the gargant, I figured having it having a shorter charge move is better than none. Of course I suppose in a perfect world gargants shouldn't have this rule.) Change Timber! to “If this model is slain, before removing the model from the battlefield pick a point on the battlefield 2" from this model. Each unit within 2" of that point suffers D3 mortal wounds. This model is then removed from the battlefield. (Now you can tactically make this guy fall over without making it a cruise missile for your opponent. Should there be a "dodge" roll though for balance? Like units roll on a 4+ to get hit?) Change Stuff ‘Em in me Bag to “Each time this model attacks, you can pick an enemy model within 2" of this model after all of this model’s attacks have been resolved and roll a dice. If the roll is equal to or greater than that enemy model’s Wounds characteristic + 1, it is slain.” (The current rule is very unreliable, with 2 wound models ignoring it 1/2 the time. Meanwhile the Ghorgon has a very similar rule but with no added benefit to wound characteristics, but only with 1" range. I went with the middle route, so 1 wound models still have a chance to get out, but you can potentially snipe 5 wound heroes). Gain Yell and Bawl ability After this model attacks an enemy unit, that enemy unit suffers -1 to their Bravery characteristic in the next Battleshock phase. (Added in an old favorite of old giants. I'm surprised at the lack of fear/terror from monsters) Gain Object Throw attack Range 24” Attacks 1 To Hit 5+ To Wound 3+ Rend -1 Damage D3. (I figured gargants throw things like troggoths or cygors. This gives them a slight ranged threat, albeit unreliable.) Aleguzzler Gargant gains Too Drunk to Care At the start of your Hero Phase, roll a dice for each of your units with this rule. On a 4+, the gargant temporarily forgets all the battle wounds that have been inflicted on it. Use the top row on that unit’s damage table until the start of your next Hero phase. (I wanted to give the aleguzzler more character, and this way you can potentially have a fully effective gargant in combat). Chaos Gargant Change Whipped into a Frenzy to include Mortal Heroes. Gains Godmarked When adding this unit to your army, you may choose to give it one of the following Keywords: Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, or Tzeentch. (These two rules allow the chaos gargant to be much more buffable in non BoC armies. And chaos loves their buffs.) And that would be all for the core gargant profiles, however I also made some (probably not balanced) Realm rules for Gargants, like Order Battle Wizards you choose where your gargant came from and they get a new corresponding ability. I figure with all of these changes, maybe Aleguzzler would be 180-210 points and Chaos would be 190-220 points? Gargant Realm Origin You may pick a Gargant to be from a specific realm, gaining the corresponding ability.
  18. Also Bullgors somehow still hit on a 4+ yet the party beer bellies hit on 3+.....😜
  19. I think GW is very afraid of making Artillery too powerful. except skaven I mean the Khorne writer was 100% intentional that Wrathmongers affected Skull Cannons supposedly. And then the FAQ shot it to the ground. And Greywater is seen as one of the weaker Cities of Sigmar. That being said, come on a book is better than no book! I get it, people want to be up there with FEC or Slaanesh or Skaven, but as a BoC player (not slaanesh beasts mind you, I know I can abuse that!) I'm glad to have a pretty chunky book with all sorts of things to play around with. And it looks like Ogors are also pretty chunky. I mean it could be worse, like using all your swifthawk agents as proxies!
  20. The CoS models went last chance way before the book, like in september (and also it was very last minute so many people in the america's lost out). Though CoS is a unique case since many models I suspect were removed for "redundancy" in the eyes of gw. Not to mention quite a few were even 8th edition plastics. Though for the most part honestly, resin figures don't go OOP unless it gets replaced by plastic. I mean skaven still have to rely on resin/metal Gutter Runners, Acolytes, and Weapon teams! All 3 wizards for Bonesplitterz aren't plastic. Then theres the mess of BoC... I think Sourbreath Troggoths might be one of the few that did lose out (though one could argue they got replaced by the plastic rockguts), yet the Madcap Shamans (who still come in a two pack) stuck around. All in all GW is weird with their resin/metal policy. Yea I do think old Cauldron Boy may get removed, GW seems keen on making sure particular models are "out of the box" ready to play. It's "confusing" to buy a model without the parts to build the other option. Unless Cauldron Butcher becomes a completely unique warscroll.
  21. Is a Lord Celestant on Dracoth with some other Dracoth units worthwhile in hammerhal? Seems like a nasty hammer with blood of the twelve+twinstone, but has less bodies than Demigryphs.
  22. Though speaking of models, I'm curious if all the resin models are still in. I assume so since you can still buy them? As opposed to the great cleansing of Cities of Sigmar which now has occurred several long weeks ago.
  23. I mean at least theres a new tyrant. Meanwhile my BoC haven't gotten a single thing, other than the underworlds warband which came out a year after the BoC book. Still have to deal with the Shaggoth that doesn't fit the other dragon ogors...
  24. Great work there! Bit of a shame ever since the move to All Plastic that special characters have been very limited to actual models.
