I might just skip the rest of this edition and go play 40k for a bit. The new Eldar and chaos stuff coming up seems a lot more exciting. The last thing I need for my Idoneth is a random foot hero. I've already got 4 random foot heroes that don't see much play.

I don't think anyone really expects that. I think it's more hope on the basis that Fyreslayers could really use some unit variety and Deepkin are quite a high concept army that has a lot of potential.

They haven't even bothered with a trailer, let alone some rumour engine pics, we're getting a trash box 😂

Let's be real, it's going to be one hero each and a new book. I've already made peace with it, just have to hope it's a book that is more Stormcast / Warclans than Nurgle.

A playtester once gave me a subtle smile when I said about how cool a giant crab model will be. Don't stop believing (but it will probably come out in like 4 years).

Could this be rumour worthy? Probably not, but we can hope!

So excited for my generic foot hero and then no releases for 3 to 4 years. Thanks GW! In all seriousness though she looks fairly cool. Hopefully Fyreslayers get some love.

Looking at it I'm pretty sure it will be twin swords on the back and they've just edited out the model. Don't know what the new hero unit will be, I was expecting an Ishrann Embaillor but they use a weapon called a pain staff in lore.

It's going to be the one new model for Idoneth in the battlebox.

Just going to put it out there that it could be crab or crab related.

Seems plausible. GW like campaign books at the moment. We know chorfs and Malerion are coming at some point. Only thing I'm not sure on is the combined dwarf book. I'm sure Whitefang is hinting at Fyreslayers.

That would be super cool, but I feel like Fyreslayers is probably more likely than Chorfs.

I do think Whitefang was hinting at Idoneth vs Fyreslayers. 1) Ages ago I mentioned the idea of a Nurgle vs Idoneth box and he said "choose your opponent. 2) I specifically asked him for a reason to feel hyped and I'm a well known Idoneth simp. 3) He posted about their being precedent for a same grand alliance vs grand alliance battlebox. 4) He reacted to posts about Fyreslayers getting a foot hero. 5) He told me to be less pessimistic about GW hating Idoneth. To me an Idoneth vs Fyreslayers box does make sense. As they are both relatively older tomes, didn't receive any new units (i know slayers got some terrain and spells) in 2nd and have yet to appear in a battlebox. It's also reasonable to think GW likes the pattern of releasing new models in battleboxes accompanied by books as this has been used for 40k 9th as well as AoS 2nd.
