  1. /sadface As a Kharadron player, with 90% of my units have ranged weapon profiles, I think it will be really good for the game.
  2. As @Mutton said, maybe a basic and simple ability could be enough: Hand weapon and shield: add 1 to save characteristic. Double hand weapon: add 1 to attack characteristic. Spear: Add 1 to rend characteristic if the target of this attack made a charge move this turn. etc... Something like that.
  3. Are you saying that my Grundstock Thunderers are not going to have special weaponry? 1 profile instead of 5?
  4. I always envisioned Bravery as a "save roll" for special attacks, instead of a phase with a check to win more or ignore the whole phase. Something like Malifaux, magic and pshiquic attacks can only be "saved" by Willpower, and other attacks can only be resisted by Defense.
  5. I know that I will be burned alive but... I've read the first and second of Gotreks books (don't remember their names). The first one was excelent, small adventures and fancy characters, an "enchanted" tower, a caravan being ambushed, a lovely Chaos story... perfect. It had that obscure feeling that, no matter what you do, it will end badly. The second one... was hard to finish. Didn't like the skaven-sorcerer characterization (maybe I missremember, but I think the villain was Thanquol?) and the book ended like a 80s movies. I have the third one to start, but I need to finish Gitslayer (still early, but I don't like it) and the last chapter of Ghost of Barak Minoz (love it).
  6. So badass! I love him! It works for me! It seems to be a nightmare. I have one waiting at home, but still in the box. But if it's true that a Slayer army is coming in that Arcane Journal, I'll have to force myself to build and paint that little ******.
  7. Are we sure that the Goblin Hewer wasn't invented?
  8. Even if I don't have a lot of problems with priority rolls, I still think that it doesn't bring enough. Yes, sometimes it will be awesome and fun, maybe even make a comeback, but there is a possibility to finish the game, and that's enough for me to know how necessary is for the game. Remember that AoS already has a lot of interactions, synergies, 3 forms to acquire Victory Points, and a bunch of layers of rules. And we still have a lot of rolls to decide things, I mean, all our units battle their own wars with RNG gods each time they cast, pray, figh or charge. Maybe I'm alone, but I thinkt that I don't need more variables tied to one roll that is so powerfull that sometimes can even finish the game by itself. Btw, the double-turn is a 4th edition feature, so let's wait and see how GW is trying to make it less and less impactful.
  9. I think that Chamon is one of the bests realms. Sadly, we need a Soulbound expansion to see a fully developed realm of metal (The Great Patch is awesome, thanks Cubicle7). But we already have awesome hooks like Gholemkin and the ancient ruins of the Khazalid Empire waiting to be developed. I'm still reading Ghosts of Barak-Minoz (a few pages to finish the book), and I must say that it's awesome. One of my favorite AoS books and it reminds me about Josh Reynold's AoS books. It explains a bit how the realmspheres work (hysh/ulgu rotations, there is even an explanation about how Kharadron's count time and space), the death air and the perimeter inimical, but seen from Drekki's crew eyes, that alone makes all the realms a bit more grounded and understandable for the reader. Btw, the Kharadron Overlords longbeards are called oldbeards (because KOs trim a bit their beards). I demand a new elite unit!!
  10. Can't wait to start writting an Imperial list with dwarfs, halflings, ogres and humans.
  11. Yeah, I get the point. But after 3 years, I can't even use my ships in any Artillery Battalion. I was reading the last Dawnbringer V book and it become worst. We waited over 2 years until bodyguard/ward fix!! And I'm not saying that I can't play the game because of that, I'm just saying that the main AoS rules, even if they are not that broken, doesn't feel like they have a solid structure. Note: Btw, I'm not saying that 40k is perfect.
  12. They lost me after the first reading of 3.0 core rules.
  13. I think exactly the same. I just hope that the people above the creative and developers doens't bother with Matt Rose stuff. I know that it will be an unpopular opinion, but I don't see a gigantic amount of changes in that PDF. Not so diferent than AoS, only 1 page of core rules changes (mainly to devastating wounds and a few clarifications or better wording to how can you use the Insane bravery/Overwtach stratas). Everything else seems to be focused on factions, that is expected (if you group up all codex's FAQ's, you would probably end with 20-30 or more pages).
  14. Still reading the book, but it seems weird that Kharadrons can't use the scout and artillery battalions because they don't have any mounted troop (skyriggers doesn't count as having amount) and skyships are not artilley (yeah, it sounds stupid but that's the way AoS is designed). 4oS can't come soon enough... The "siege" rules seems fun and strightforward, sadly, they are only designed to use CoS terrain sets so... big miss buy it's an small step in the right directions.
  15. /OfftopicON (it's soulblight fault!) It's hard to know why silver was believed to be a "pure metal", and I think it's impossible to track when this myth started (each culture having their own vampires didn't help). Juda's coins is a good assumption, but I'm not sure that the cristian mythology was the main source (some say that the holy silver came from the greeks), but it was a nice hook for modern authors.
  16. /OfftopicOn Silver was belived to be a pure metal that repelled impure souls. Part of the vampire folklore comes because ancient mirrors used a layer of silver, and therefore, they couldn't reflect vampires. Vampires that can't be reflected in other surfaces (aka, on a lake) is a twist to classic folklore and part of the popular culture (and a great hook for any modern adaptation). /OfftopicOff
  17. Fantastic list! Remember that your army comes from Barak-Urbaz, take another Article! I'm not used to play with a double footnote, but I think it has a lot of potential with a double-frigate. I'm not a fan of Trust to Your Guns, it seems good on paper but I love to sweep around the battlefield with a 2D6" run. Even our foot soldiers can move fast with this amendment. Good luck with your games!
  18. This remind me about early AoS: "This game will die in less than 2 years..." 9 years later: "Yep, 1 month and it's dead..."
  19. That would be perfect for me. But sadly, 1 game every 3 months means a lot to me and the lack of flavour kills my whole excitement.
  20. I don't think you need to worry for that. We are near 4oS and that's what matter. Just enjoy the ride.
