  1. I think it should be 1500-2000 max, but I prefer 1k points as far as actually bothering to play this game. I don't really like it when games get huge it gets clunky and messy.

    AoS 2 - Nighthaunt Discussion

Yeah that is what had me worried, but the grimghast appear to be different...notice the death bell the leader uses. The differences are subtle but their description points to them being slightly more customizable.

    The Rumour Thread

I get a saturday morning cartoon vibe from the nighthaunt spells, and not the horror vibe I would want from anything added to the death faction. AoS really feels like their most kid friendly game, a lot of this stuff would have looked way out of place in WHF. But oh well, just gotta pick and choose the stuff I do like I guess...maybe a good paintjob will save some of these.

    AoS 2 - Nighthaunt Discussion

Do you guys think nighthaunt will get a multi part chainrasp hordes kit? I mean considering they are the main battleline unit and you would kinda want to run 20-40 of them I would hope they would give us more variety than 10 duplicate basic sculpts in the starter set. They look kind of bland cause they are all floating to their right, heads angled to the left.

    AoS 2 - Nighthaunt Discussion

Yeah hordes are off putting to me simply cause I don't like moving so many models during a game, also painting and storing them. I mean a blob of 30 skeletons or chainrasps is okay. But if you double or triple that then its too much for me. I'm kinda waiting on the actual nighthaunt battletome to see if they are an army worth investing in, I want to see what 1k-1500 point lists for them will be looking like.

I agree, I hope they get at the very least a small wave of models sometime before the end of 2019. I love the look of the Varghulf, it's just a shame it isn't plastic if they did a plastic one with the same look and 2 head options i'd be thrilled to run two of them. Plus another ghoul king on foot would be nice, hopefully with a more unique design. 1-2 new units couldn't hurt either. This is really the army I want to collect this edition, but they need a small wave of figures to round them out into a range of models that doesn't feel so cobbled together by old figures. I'm thinking about collecting them anyway and just running 1k points, and that's it..until they get more love later down the road.

Plus the varghulf is still resin, something that they need to change. I quite like the look of this army, they are in the top 5 i'm considering for the new edition. But the sameyness of the kits..eh, I don't think i'd collect this army past 1000 points, 1500 might be pushing it. The units look really good together on the table, and there is a coherent look to the army, but they really need 2-3 more kits including a plastic varghulf.

    AoS Wish For 2018

Most of the stuff i'd want is phasing out resin models from the death lineups, plastic varghhulf, vampire lord on foot, plastic bat swam in a similar style to spirit hosts but bat flocks instead. And if we can have multiple stormcast models representing a castellant or whatever I wouldn't mind seeing another necromancer, just more plastic death models. Even with the full nighthaunt release it doesn't 100% make up for years of neglect and I want to see those resin models go bye bye.

    Age of Sigmar: Second Edition

Well the stuff that was catching my eye aesthetically was all the undead stuff. Not too keen on stormcasts, ogres, skaven etc. There's just something about classic skeletons/ghouls/wights and stuff. I had no interest in ever reaching 2000 points to begin with. It makes sense that undead would be able to re animate troops already fallen in battle. As opposed to Seraphon who could or should to some extend be able to 'will' more soldiers onto the field. I'm probably just going to have to wait and see how the nighthaunt turn out.

    Age of Sigmar: Second Edition

I was kind of thinking of diving into AoS with the new edition but i'm not liking what i'm hearing about the summoning and stuff. If this becomes a bad thing might have to consider lowering the points level of standard games. I figure if i'm fielding more than 100 models then the game is getting way too big. I prefer games that are a bit bigger than skirmish, but not huge. And this summoning stuff seems like a way to bloat the game and make you buy more models. I also kind of liked the simplicity of how AoS seemed over 40k, but now GW seems to be making it more complicated...or at least that is what its sounding like at a glance.

    Let's chat Kharadron Overlords

I was kind of torn on picking between KO and Deepkin for my first AoS army. Are the downloadable warscrolls for the KO current/updated? I can't imagine why they wouldn't simply update those and reupload them to the site. Nobody wants to be hauling around faqs and errata n stuff to play games, makes me wonder if the battletome is worth the money if its so outdated.

    Lets Chat: Idoneth Deepkin

Probably just alternate builds, the initial teaser video for the deepkin didn't show the generic arkhelian king or the storm eidolon builds. I was thinking about starting this army at a lower pts level like 750-1000 pts, I guess I couldn't do wrong getting the battletome and a namarti box until I get more money. I just have no interest in running either of the eidolons in my army, the model is a bit much for me.

    The Rumour Thread

I'd rather them have at least some downsides or not be good at everything, or basically be overpowered. Otherwise you'll get people playing them who don't even care about the army, just the power gaming aspect.

    Do you like the lore?

I find it's a good setting for games, and fantastical visuals/ideas. But as far as being invested emotionally/into themes and characters it kind of falls flat. I know they've explored more stuff in the novels but I feel like good lore should also be in the battletomes. Luckily it seems to be improving over time with the more recent battletomes being pretty decent.

Certain arms go with certain bodies, legs are in locked position. They are about as customizable as those newer death guard kits. So heads are mostly interchangeable along with a couple bits n bobs but they aren't as customizable as say DE kabalities or empire state troops. I was hoping I wouldn't need more than 20-30 of these..but I plan on playing 1000-1500 pts not 2000. Hopefully GW updates skirmish mode later in the year with deepkin rules.
