  1. Thanks. The bases are Agrellan Badland texture, with a thinned Agrax Earthshade wash before a heavy Baneblade Brown drybrush then a light Pallid Wych Flesh Drybrush.
  2. Having finished up the DoK warband, I moved on to another. I decided to make a Tzeentch coven to be able to use some disc riders, so elected for the Flesh eater Courts rules. As such, switched 2 disc riders to 50mm bases and made a leader with Kurdross' floating chair and legs since I've had them a while and a regal floating guy seems fitting. They'll count as the Crypy Flayers or Horrors. For ghouls I opted for Blue Horrors to match base size, and got one done and a few more in progress.
  3. Item sold, cheers.
  4. Thanks! I've since painted up the last 2 harpies as well as finishing the final mook.
  5. I've been busy again! This time round I took some older models I'd already painted and did some weapon/head swaps then repainted the weapons and armour (plus new bits) to match what I'd already done. So that's 1 more Melusai rebased and redone, as well as 7 Witch/Warlock Aelves of warious weapon loadouts done! The 8th Witch Aelf sadly still needs her new head painting, but I needed a break. All I have left now is 1 more Khinerai to finish painting, then 1 more Melusai and Khinerai to build/paint and I'll have all 15 models done for a well rounded roster.
  6. Thank you! Since it's almost been a whole day, I've managed to rebase the original Lamia, paint up antlers and finish the first khinerai too. Also built a second khinerai and painted her head before finishing up the first. Bit hard to see as it's basically white on white, but still -
  7. It has been a while! I moved on to other projects, most notably a pretty chunky Titanicus Legio with a host of Knights, then a second smaller Legio for my wife. With the advent of Warcry I figured I'd give it a shot even though I wish it had a more in depth campaign system. As I liked some Chaos models from each warband but not a whole warband, I figured I'd convert up one, and settled on this as the starting inspiration from my Chaos army - So, "Chaos" Daughters of Khaine it is, a la Realms of Chaos once again! I started on a couple more members, a khinerai and another melusai, painting the heads first to get a feel for them.
  8. Cheers guys! The horrors will likely have their upper faces smoothed away, so they just have mouths. Generally I plan for them to be inky dark like the other I've done, yet with luminous teeth. The Brimstones wouldn't be converted, as that would be an utter faff. I did manage to get 2 more disc riders done as well as another disc. This leaves a rider for that green disc plus the Gaunt Summoner conversion, and a Stormfiend for skirmish, to paint up on my desk. The Blue Scribes and some familiars should be arriving Wednesday so I can put the purple and yellow scribe on that disc. After that I'll only have the Lord of Change and a hell of a lot of horrors to paint so of course I'm now in the middle of converting a Chaos Lord on drake - I still need to bulk up the base and sculpt a saddle.
  9. Another one down. I worked out, for my target 2k DoT army, I'd in theory need to paint - 2 familiars Gaunt Summoner Lord of Change 2 Enlightened on discs 20 Pink Horrors 40-60 Blue Horrors 40-60 Brimstone Horrors Now the first 6 models, not so bad - fair enough. The remaining 140~ish? That's somewhat of a bad feeling, especially as I'm trying to work out how to keep some individuality to match the rest of the army.
  10. Thanks! Been working on some disc riders and got several finished up.
  11. Cheers! That old bone model used for the moonface guy is indeed a Khorne champion I believe. I finished up two more models who I'm pretty happy with, the lantern wielding warrior, and the lamia.
  12. Cheers guys. It's Kabalite Green shaded by adding in some dark blue. Only painted a disc in the last day or so, but I've been getting a bunch of models ready for the painting queue. Aside from these there are also another 4 or so, plus yet more discs.
  13. Well not exactly many comments it seems, but I've painted up another disc rider who I quite like. I really do like the combination of old RoC era miniatures on the newer aesthetic discs.
  14. Another quick one finished up, this guy is very likely going to go on the blue scribes disc when I get it.
  15. Been a while! I've been spending some time painting Adeptus Titanicus and now that project is essentially done till new models come out, so back to the Chaos skirmish I go. Finished up this new guy yesterday -
  16. Hi guys. Recently started again on my skirmish Chaos stuff and it's resulted in me considering my Tzeentch army again. Currently I was thinking of this - Allegiance: TzeentchGaunt Summoner and Chaos Familiars (180)- General- Trait: Arcane Sacrifice - Artefact: Wellspring of Arcane Might - Lore of Change: Tzeentch's FirestormLord of Change (380)- Lore of Change: Bolt of TzeentchThe Blue Scribes (140)- Lore of Change: Tzeentch's FirestormTzaangor Shaman (180)- Lore of Change: Fold Reality10 x Chaos Warriors (180)- Hand Weapon & Shield10 x Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (200)- Lore of Change: Unchecked Mutation10 x Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (200)- Lore of Change: Fold Reality9 x Tzaangor Enlightened on Disc (420)Balewind Vortex (40)Chronomantic Cogs (60)Soulsnare Shackles (20)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 106 Not sure if massed acolytes for ablative wounds and staying power is worth trying over using pink horrors really, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
  17. Cheers! Managed some painting today, so the next disc rider is done. These guys are fun to do, but my currently planned Tzeentch army only has 3 enlightened and I have quite a few more discs to do...
  18. Whoops, been a while. I got the banner finished last week and took a bit of a break from painting since there are no looming deadlines. Next is probably going to be a slightly bigger centerpiece, maybe a few more character-esque models.
  19. Cheers Kronos! That's the era of Chaos I love, so that's a huge compliment. Had another day off today, so amidst 3 skirmish victories at the local store where again speed was king, I finished off Slambo and the second jugger rider, aside from the banner itself. So for the skirmish list overall I now only have to paint 1 last Skullcrusher, which will be something quite a bit different to the rest, and work out how to use the last 4 renown.
  20. Cheers Easygrin! Spent some time today working on the next 2 Skullcrushers for my skirmish force, expansions for the upcoming several weeks. Just have the riders to paint and the Skullcrushers are finished - since the pictures I've added tufts and painted the rims black. In the end I decided to go with a retro Alpha Legion-esque scheme and a generic earthy brown for these two. Also got round to taking pictures of the finished Plague Monk.
  21. Cheers guys! Had the first campaign battle against a destruction player, using a Tyrant (using the points formula for renown) and 2 normal ogres. We played the second mission with the treasure hoards, looking for artifacts. Speed was king, as I was able to stay out of range and plink away at the Ogres though his command trait did let him unbind a few spells. Managed a Major Victory with his last Ogre running away from battleshock after the Tyrant died, his last wounds nibbled away by the Tzaangor Shaman's Disc! I only have the Plague Monk left to convert and paint up, he's just due some gap filling around the hood and he'll hopefully be finished before the game tomorrow.
  22. Thanks for the reminder! I've not been painting Order lately, but rather Chaos. Finally started on the Tzeentch army I've had in a pile mocking me. I'm very much a fan of the Realms of Chaos era of chaos warband where pretty much everyone is an individual, so for my Tzeentch Coven they're all unique. Makes for a very visually eclectic army but it's pretty fun converting them up. Also my local GW is running a 2 month long escalation AoS skirmish campaign, so I've also painted up a couple of Slaanesh and Khorne models to flesh out the grand alliance warband. Again, having fun converting them. Currently the starting warband consists of a Tzaangor Shaman (Violet, on the blue and white disc), a Skyfire (Indigo, snake lady on disc), two Seekers of Slaanesh (the snake ladies) and a Horror (the inky amorphous mass) for 48 renown. Next step up is the Juggernaut rider as a Skullcrusher, and week after that is the Wrathmonger (maw spirit thing). For the latter month of the campaign I have another pair of Skullcrushers, one of which is wip above with Slambo on it, as well as a Skyfire. There's another 16 renown I'm playing around with that'll either be a Khorgorath, or another(!) Skullcrusher, Knight of Nurgle and possibly Plague Monk, which would go a good way towards including some Nurgle. My Tzeentch army is also pretty small - 17 models at 1000 points. Of those I still have 5 Warriors, a Curseling, a Tzaangor Shaman and a Tzaangor Enlightened left to paint. Expanding to 2k is just adding a Lord of Change, 30 Tzaangors and playing around with 140 more points.
  23. Hi guys, I was hoping for some expertise since I've not played AoS2: Electric Boogaloo and in fact only had a couple of tiny games of AoS1. I'm planning a 1k/2k list for some escalation style play as I build and paint up the army, Realms of Chaos style (so everyone unique). For 1k points I have - Curseling, Tzaangor Shaman, Fatemaster, Magister, 3 Enlightened and 2 units of 5 Chaos Warriors with some points left over for a spellportal. To expand to 2k I was planning to add a Lord of Change and Geminids, which gives me 580 points to play around with. Since I'm light on bodies I was thinking possibly 30 Tzaangors and maybe some screamers to fill out on points and hunt small stuff, go for objectives and so on. My main question is concerning the Tzaangors - since they're effectively the same points as Chaos Warriors, what would the preference between the two be? Would 30 Warriors or 30 Tzaangors be more useful? I'm not super competetive and the army is mostly a modeling project for me, but it'd be nice to go for the more useful choice if I'm going to spend time converting 30 of these guys. The other choices would of course be going for cheaper and more numerous Acolytes or even Marauders in either half of the army, or even just going for 3 units of pink horrors and dropping the screamers and possibly geminids. Any recommendations would be appreciated, cheers!
  24. Cheers! Managed to paint up a bit more. With the deadline for month 2 of Malign Portents coming up this Saturday, I painted this grot today, though he still needs his base finished - Also worked on the Medusa and ended up finishing her, which is a step closer to the snake army completed -
  25. Finished up the next 7 Witch/Warlock Aelves and the Death Hag. Next up is finishing half the Cauldron, Slaughter Hag and attendants and the Medusa which will complete the big box. Currently order-wise I also have this remaining - 19 Warlock/Witch Aelves 10 Doomfire Warlocks A Sorceress/Hag 2 Vanguard-Palladors 19 Irondrakes 1 Warden King Probably 20 Melusai when they become available. So, still quite a lot to do, but at least it's a finite list for the DoK so it feels like progress is being made.
