  1. I don't want to go off topic or be political, but I thought this story might be helpful for some people out there who have gone through or might be going through similar experiences. In early 2021 I came out personally and professionally as a transgender woman and have been living full time as a woman ever since. The truth is this wasn't a massive surprise to me. In my teens I'd tried to come out and transition before, but due to various factors and some failings with the healthcare I received I went back "into the closet". As part of that I'd learnt to think that if I could be "manly enough" I could fix myself. When I got back into Warhammer in 2016 I basically didn't have a social life. I was always uncomfortable around people and had poor mental health. I decided to get back into painting models as a way to manage my mental health. It also meant that I had one thing which would get me out the house and socialising (other than work). I later came to realise that painting those little figures probably saved my life. My mental health continued to get worse, to the extent I tried some silly things. During those low periods painting my Idoneth models was an outlet for creativity, colour and passion when I felt so repressed in the rest of my life. Unfortunately, due to internalised transphobia and mysogyny I wasn't always the best person. I felt resentful to ****** people and women involved in the hobby, because that was the life I wanted but was too ashamed to embrace. At times I made "jokes" and comments I'm not proud of, some on this very forum, to try and prove to myself that I could be "one of the lads". However, at the same time as I saw increased representation in the hobby and Games Workshop embracing greater diversity I began to imagine at least one part of my life where I could be trans and still be accepted. So AoS ended up giving me two things, a creative outlet to be completely free and express myself when I didn't have one anywhere else and a safe space where I could still have social interaction when I was early in my journey. I'm pleased to say I'm so much happier now and have a wide range of social relationships both within and outside the hobby. My passion for Warhammer has never been greater and since I started HRT I've painted more models than ever before! I wanted to share this story for two reasons. Firstly, as an apology to the people I may have made uncomfortable with exclusionary comments back when I was a "toxic egg". Secondly, if there is anyone reading this going through struggles around their own identity. The hobby is, and will always be, a place for you. I am committed to do everything I can to make sure that everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or neurodiversity has a place in our game. I'd like to invite anyone who feels comfortable doing so to share their own experiences of how Warhammer helped get them through a tough time. Thanks for reading.

  4. As many of you are no doubt aware, Games Workshop has been taking player feedback increasingly seriously over the past few years. This seriousness was particularly evident last Autumn when GW began soliciting general feedback from the community on point values and balance in Age of Sigmar. In addition to this general effort, the design team contacted a group of people around the world in order to provide focused feedback that would then be used along with the general community feedback to help guide the team's decisions for GHB2019. I enthusiastically accepted the opportunity. Now that the GHB2019 points changes are generally public, I'd like to take some time to reflect on the experience. This is going to be a bit of a long post, so here is a summary of what I'll cover: My methods of analysis A summary of my recommendations My thoughts on the changes that were actually implemented ___________________ PART 1: Methods For those of you that are not already familiar with my contributions on this forum, I'm something of a numbers guy. While I certainly don't love math, I have found that a basic understanding of the mathematics underlying strategy games like AoS is absolutely fundamental to any kind of cogent analysis. I've done a lot of work trying to understand the nuts and bolts of Age of Sigmar, and I saw this area of expertise as my major opportunity to contribute to the GHB2019 project. There were plenty of seasoned gamers also providing feedback, and I felt confident that they would be able to provide plenty of gameplay-based nuance that I could support with my basic math. With this in mind, I set a very ambitious goal for myself: nothing short of a complete mathematical analysis of every warscroll in Age of Sigmar. I ended up having to pare back a bit on this, but I was proud to compile spreadsheets covering every faction with a "modern" battletome up to that point (so every faction from the first Sylvaneth tome up to that point) as well as every faction that showed up as either significantly over- or under-performing in the Honest Wargamer's faction ranking table. I provided a feedback document to the team with an analysis of each of these factions based on the fundamental math (focused on defensive and offensive efficiency ratings) and a concrete list of recommended points adjustments for each warscroll in these factions. PART 2: Recommendations In general, I recommended relatively conservative nerfs to over-performing warscrolls/factions and relatively aggressive buffs to under-performing warscrolls/factions. My rationale behind this was simple: the overall competitive metagame is actually reasonably healthy with quite a few armies performing well. At the time, DoK did stand out as a big outlier but even with it's gaudy win percentage it wasn't prevalent enough to create a truly toxic dynamic. People generally do not like it when their army gets nerfed, but in some cases nerfs are necessary both for external and internal balance. That said, I strongly believe that these nerfs should likely be modest as I do not think the gap between the top performers and the next tier is all that large, and furthermore the likelihood of the metagame diversifying as new tomes release is significant. In fact, that is exactly what we have seen happen. While DoK was the bogeyman at the time, we have since seen Skaven and FEC rise to the top of the heap. Furthermore, people generally like buffs. For that reason, I took a more buff-focused approach to my recommendations and suggested some pretty dramatic points changes, particularly for factions like Ironjawz, KO, and others with really dismal performance. I'm not going to go into exhaustive detail about exactly what suggestions I made, but suffice to say that when I learned about the team's decisions I found that they generally agreed with most of my nerf suggestions (although there were a couple of things that surprised me a little), but generally implemented much more conservative buffs than what I suggested. PART 3: Reactions At first, I was slightly disappointed by the list of changes. I thought there were a few misses on things that needed a small nerf, but more importantly that the points reductions to struggling factions wouldn't be nearly enough to make them competitive. In general, I stand by these beliefs and I think that the community largely agrees based on the reactions I have been seeing. That said, I have since come around to believe that the changes that were implemented were largely correct given the accelerated pace of new releases and general developments in the game over the past six months or so. I know that sounds like a bit of a contradiction -- that I stand by the belief that a lot of warscrolls were under-buffed, but that I think this decision was likely correct. Hopefully I can explain my reasoning, as I think that it's something that is very important for the community to consider when reacting to the GHB2019. When I was working on my spreadsheets, I spent a lot of time looking at warscrolls. It became immediately apparent to me that there is a pretty wide gulf between old warscrolls from the early stages of AOS and ones that have been updated or written more recently. Not only do more recent warscrolls tend to do more, they also seem to have different baseline expectations about what level of efficiency is expected. I did a lot of number crunching as far back as the original GHB, and while defensive efficiencies have largely stayed similar to what they were back then the same cannot be said for offense. Competitive levels of offensive efficiency are basically 1.5-2 times as high now as they were in 2016. I use a system that I call WDR to compare offensive efficiency regardless of the rend level of the damage that a warscroll does. Without getting into the nuts and bolts of it, a WDR value of .1 was really good in 2016. Only the absolute cream of the crop reached that level. A WDR of .07-.09 was enough to make a warscroll quite efficient on offense, whereas the more "defense only" warscrolls were typically in the .03-.05 range. Nowadays, most battletomes have units that are well above .1 WDR at baseline, and it's not uncommon to see WDRs of .15 to .2 in easily achievable situations. It's not uncommon for relatively defensively efficient warscrolls to have baseline WDRs in that .07-.09 range now. While these offensive changes have stayed relatively consistent for a while now, the last year or so has seen an incredible amount of design space open up. AOS 2.0 battletomes just have so much going on in them compared to even "modern" battletomes like the old Sylvaneth tome, Bonesplitterz and BCR. With new magic options opened up through endless spells, an expanding repertoire of out-of-sequence actions, and an increase in rules and abilities that interact with the table in some way (including both faction scenery and the Gloomspite bad moon mechanic), new battletomes just have an order of magnitude more depth than most of the old ones (not to mention factions that don't have battletomes at all!). It's rapidly becoming apparent that trying to balance old factions through points adjustments alone is just not a viable approach. I suggested some pretty aggressive points changes, and as I was making those suggestions I thought to myself that GW will likely not implement these changes because they simply don't make sense on a basic level even though the underlying math is sound. Even in the second half of 2018 it was apparent to me that some warscrolls were beyond fixing with points adjustments simply because any adjustments to make them competitive on offense would require making them absurdly cheap. Remember, when you change the points value on a warscroll you affect both the defensive and offensive efficiency at the same time. Suffice to say, finding the sweet spot that would allow these warscrolls to be competitive in the environment of late 2018 would be incredibly difficult, and in many cases it would require pointing warscrolls at a level that does not at all make sense for what that warscroll is supposed to represent. You'd see a clear difference where recent models would be pointed at a certain level, and then old models would look like they were pointed on a completely different scale. From a mathematical perspective this makes some sense in that these older warscrolls were designed on something of a different scale. But from the perspective of the game world, it really doesn't make sense. This problem would only be further exacerbated in 2019 where more of the power of top tier armies is coming from their battletome rules rather than the warscrolls themselves. Fortunately, Games Workshop has shown a remarkable dedication to updating old factions as quickly as possible. Some of these tomes are effectively expansions (such as Gloomspite) while others are simply updates (FEC, Skaven). Both strategies have clearly demonstrated viability for bringing an older army back into relevance. If GW keeps up with its current pace, every struggling faction could be updated within a year or two at most. So why not give these factions some aggressive buffs to get them back in the game while they wait for a tome? To me, that was the key question. There is a clear answer though: whiplash. Let's say GW is planning on updating an army within the next year. In order to make that army relevant in 2019, the points on many warscrolls might need to be cut by 25-50%. People will be stoked to play that faction. Now everything is way cheaper and actually decent! Of course, you'll need to buy a lot more models to fill out your army list now. Skip ahead a year, and now the battletome is dropping along with updated warscrolls and a suite of powerful new abilities. Suddenly the whole army needs to be dramatically re-pointed again, only this time the point values are going to be going way, way up. Suddenly all of those models that you just bought can't be put on the table at the same time anymore. Yes, you have access to a lot of new abilities but now your 2k army is a 3k army and you need to make drastic cuts. If that happened, players would be LIVID. And justifiably so. People love to complain about power creep and suggest that GW is intentionally making new things overpowered in order to sell more kits. "Of course they don't buff old things! They want the new things to be great so people will buy them!" It's certainly possible that there is some truth to this, but people forget that GW can just as easily push sales by buffing old kits as they can by making new ones. Every time an update tome comes out, GW has difficulty keeping popular older kits in stock. Clearly buffs drive sales of old kits just as much as they do new ones -- and old kits don't have the same added development costs that new ones do. If GW was just pushing profit, wouldn't they be more incentivized to make existing kits OP to move their already extant inventory without incurring new costs? That's pretty much exactly what would happen if GW made aggressive point changes to old warscrolls in the months preceding a battletome update. They'd sell a bunch of models, but players would rightly be furious at what would amount to a pump-and-dump strategy. So in retrospect, I think GW had two possible strategies for making the old armies viable in the game. They could create a two tiered pointing system with new armies having lots of bells and whistles but a much higher points cost per model and old armies having great efficiency but few interesting abilities, or they could commit to updating the old armies as quickly as possible with new rulesets that would bring them up to speed. I very firmly believe that the second option is a lot more work for GW, but it's a lot better for the game. I am glad that this is the strategy they seem to have chosen, even though it does mean that old factions need to wait a bit longer than the GHB2019 to get up to speed. Hopefully that explains why I ultimately agree with the choices GW made in the GHB2019 point values despite the fact that I still think that the buff recommendations that I initially made are still "correct"! The other major concern that I see a lot is that these yearly points updates are not enough. I do agree with this criticism, which is why I was very pleased to see that GW will be issuing a supplementary points update in July to cover more recent battletomes. I think this sets a very good precedent for the future. Hopefully we will see these supplementary updates once or twice a year in addition to the GHB. Overall, my participation in this process has left me with quite a bit of confidence that GW in on the right track. EDIT: I just want to add a note as I think some people might be getting a slightly incorrect idea: I am not an employee of GW or a member of the development/design team. I was selected to provide focused feedback, and I can only speak to my own thoughts and experiences. What I post does not necessarily reflect the views of the development/design team or GW as a whole. SECOND EDIT: I would really appreciate it if people refrained from using this thread to discuss why this or that unit is pointed incorrectly or why the GHB is terrible etc. etc. There is already a thread for GHB2019 thoughts and feedback. If you'd like to respond to my arguments specifically I'm absolutely happy for that, even if you disagree with me.

  6. updated September 2020: Please note that this originl post is more than 18 month old but as I expand my Death armies, add stuff to the Nighthaunts and build Shyish stuff, its ll added here. So last saturday about 5 in the afternoon I did it I finally reached a fully painted 2000pt army. I gotta say this was a personal goal I have been wanting to do ever since I was a teenager and now 15-20 years later I finally did it. Specially during my teen years but also as an adult have I started painting at least 10 different armies, but until now I have never completed one not even close. So to be honest I kinda expected a crowd giving me a standing ovation, maybe a small brassband playing: ‘we are the champions’ while someone important held a speach for me but non of that happend. Though my wife to be gave me a: “oh thats nice”, when I ran screaming with my t-shirt over my head and victory signs in the air in circles in our livingroom celebrating like some famous athtlete who just won the superbowlchampionsleaguesomethingsomething. Anyway so while I wait for Nike to contact me on some sponsor deals I thought it would be fun to hear from those of you who like me are grown ups with kids/jobs/lives that allows for very little time to paint, how long does it take you to paint an army, how do you fight the evergrowing feeling of hopelessness when batchpainting large units? Whats the fastest you have painting for a descent result? and serioulsly Nike Ive already got the slogan for you. ’You can paint it’ TM. 😉

  8. Due to some of the posts we’ve seen recently, I think I need to remind some of you what we want to see here on TGA. The reason we all visit this forum, is because we like assembling, painting and gaming with Games Workshop miniatures and playing Age of Sigmar (or a combination of those or some of the other things they do). Now I’d like to think we are all a little bit mature and know that we may all like different things and not always agree on the same things. HOWEVER, some of you have been posting negative comments and if I’m honest, after a long day or work the last thing you want to read is somebody moaning about a hobby you enjoy and use to escape the horrors of the real world. Its okay not to like everything GW does. It’s okay not to agree with what everybody else says. Its okay to be a bit grumpy about something you have been looking forwards to and not have it turn out you would like it. BUT it’s not okay to moan and post negative comments. It’s just not great to read about something you enjoy. We Mods try to lurk in the background and steer things as they need to because we think you all want to enjoy this forum in the same way. We are not saying you can’t say you don’t like something but just be constructive with the criticism. If you are replying to something, just pause and think of what you are writing could be classed as negative. In no way am I saying we are going cancel culture, Woke or whatever you want to call this but I would like to think you could apply some common sense, care about your fellow hobbyists and players and generally keep this a great forum for discussing about Age of Sigmar. Thank You

  17. The latest pre-orders have gone up and as many of us expected free warscrolls are no longer listed for download on the website. Based on reboxing we also know that the warscrolls included only show stats and not abilities. Therefore the only official way to get rules currently is to purchase a full physical battletome. GW seem to have permanently ditched digital books. The official form of digital rules will only be the currently non existent aos app that will form part of the paid for warhammer+ sub. In the transition from 2nd edition to 3rd we have lost the free app, free rules on the website and access to digital books. This during a global pandemic where many people have faced financial challenges and where GW continue to earn record profits. My view is this is incredibly anti consumer and should be met with universal scorn from hobbyists everywhere. I will continue to access my rules elsewhere, but I'm not linking anything as it may violate forum rules to do so.

  19. Same here! I’m building an undersea board for my next project! Will play Tzunki-themed Seraphon on there, modelled to be swimming or clinging to rocks/the sea floor. Will then knock up some Idoneth/undersea Kharadron/drowned undead or the sea Sylvaneth for them to face off against. Just finishing off my Old World temple-city board first but it’s next in line! It will sort of combine those aesthetics with those of my Lovecraftian Misthavn diorama (Innswich).

  20. This is a joke right? I play Idoneth. And not only do we still have a large/full new range of models released only 3 years ago, more than most factions, we have sat near the top of the meta for most of that time. We got more love in Broken realms Morathi than any other faction, with amazing warscroll updates as well making us even stronger, and more rounded. On top of all that, we have a new underworlds warband coming out in two months. Honestly as a faction we seem pretty spoiled, and the thought that anyone could make a petition like this seems absurd. Lets see Ironjaws, Sylvaneth, Kharadron and Fyrslayers get a big second wave first, then we can talk.

We will not tolerate abusive behaviour towards anyone and there has been some comments made by @MitGas recently as well as in the past, which crosses the line. They have been banned from using the site for a month. I have also chosen not to remove the comments as I try not to do censorship and I want people to see what happens if you behave in this way. TGA is for everybody BUT if you act in a way that is abusive towards anyone, we will react. This is a forum to discuss Warhammer and how much we enjoy it. Please keep it that way Thanks

  35. I am strongly encouraging my fellow AoS hobbyists to avoid signing up to WH+ Reasons 1) There is little to no AoS content at launch. We know there are no AoS animations as part of the launch offering. The only announced AoS fiction for the platform is the Blacktalon animation that lacks any clear release. We know there are two battle reports and two painting videos, it seems likely that one of each will be for AoS. However, there are tons of free painting videos on YouTube (including by GW) and if you are looking to go to the next level I would advise spending the money supporting a pro painter who has a patreon. There are so many free battle reports on YouTube. 2) We have no idea when the AoS app will launch or the state it will be in. Put simply it could be a complete car crash or totally lacking in features. We also have no idea when it will be updated or how much premium access will be included initially as opposed to a free "beta". If you think I am being pessimistic look at the 40k app and how that went. 3) We have no idea how often new content will be added. Very simple. They could add several new episodes each week, or it could be a couple a month. We also don't know how long these episodes will be. For instance, painting videos may only be 5 to 10 minutes. 4) There is no harm in waiting. Give it a few months. You can get an idea of the quality and schedule of content, as well as hopefully see the release of the aos app. If it turns out to be great then you've got a few episodes of different series lined up to binge. If it turns out ****** then you've dodged a bullet. Sure you are going to miss out on some store vouchers, but most countries have access to LGS who offer 10 to 25% discounts on GW products. You also potentially save more money by just waiting. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... 5) Put pressure on GW We should all remember that up until now a lot of the content that exists on WH+ has been available for free. The old AoS app, painting videos and so on. GW is monetizing something they used to give away, and as consumers that isn't a good deal for us. Nor are they actually sticking to their commitments, I.e. including a premium aos app at launch. If the service struggles to attract subscribers at launch do you know what will happen? They will have to make it more appealing to consumers. Do you know who wins from that? YOU! A final word... If you are already using the paid features of the 40k app or are really keen to set aside time to pour through old white dwarf articles, then go ahead and subscribe. I know there will be value in this content to some people. This post is meant to argue that the cost exceeds the value for most AoS players. If you are 100% happy and excited for what's already been announced then I truly hope you have a lovely bug free launch day and enjoy it!

  36. At the weekend I indulged in a AoS palate cleanser and picked up Dystopian Wars 2.0 for the first time in years, playing a soda and pretzels game with my eldest son. The experience was fantastic, probably the most fun I’ve had at the table-top in months, and because of that, quite revelatory. Here we were, playing a game that reintroduced me to table-top wargames again six years ago. And a game that I hadn’t played since Spartan Games unfortunately ‘rolled a double-one.’ These were out of date rules played with out of date models, with passion, and it was so much fun. And so little pressure to play. Less so than Age of Sigmar. So that got me thinking. It wasn’t that Dystopian Wars was a better game than AoS. It’s not, in my opinion. But it’s that lack of pressure on DW compared to AoS that made it more… fun. And what is a hobby if it isn’t fun, or relaxing? One of the comments made to me recently during my AoS 3.0 navel gazing, has been to step back from the hobby. Initially that made me think about hanging up my dice like many have recently, but there are other ways to step back. One of those ways to understand why I’m not enjoying my hobby, and make those changes... GW are, and for the most part since the late 80s, been completely driven as a business to get you to invest in the next new thing. Their priority is for profit, and getting you to buy more models and books is that thing. It’s capitalism dressed up as a hobby. That doesn’t bother me, nor does GW turning a profit; they make good models and product. What does bother me is the relentless marketing, promoting and pressure to buy a product. We are all responsible enough to step back from this, but it’s knowing when to. AoS 3.0’s relentless promotion, divisive rules and points changes, designed to rebuild armies rather than complement them has stopped me in my tracks, I’ll be honest. I’ve pre-ordered Dominion, but that’s with the knowledge that 3.0 will be the last edition I buy. In 4 years time it’s likely I will be doing something else, hobby-wise, once my kids have moved on to other things. I won’t be starting a new army, and I’m unlikely to rebuild the ones I have to fit AoS 3.0. I’ll just enjoy what I have now, and hope I get good games out of them. If not, then eBay will be a busy place for me. I’m at this point because of the aggressive practices from GW has meant an out of date game has been more fun to play (Dystopian Wars) rather than an up-to-date edition for what is supposed to be one of the most popular table-top games out there (AoS). I’ll still be playing AoS, but GW will get very little more from me (I’ve even discouraged my youngest son of investing in 40k – by telling him that an army will cost as much as a Ninetendo Switch and an Xbox!). But you know, the pressure on my hobby isn’t just coming from GW… I’ve said this a lot over the years, but my love of AoS is in the models, the lore, the mechanics of the game. The fun. And yet recently I’ve been embroiled in debates that have been interesting but actually pointless. For example, having debates with LRL players about broken warscrolls and odd points increases across the board, has, in hindsight been a waste of my time. None of my friends have an LRL army. None of them are interested in building one. It’s doubtful I’ll ever play one, so I’m asking myself why debate it? Does it affect me that I think some units are broken? Actually, really, no. Does it bother me LRL might get nerfed or not nerfed in the future? Actually, again, I shouldn't care less, as it it’s not something I intend to invest in. Do I think our debates will impact GW decisions? Again, that’s a no (see previous comments!). So why do it? While this forum has been a great place to get advice, and the debates have been interesting, I’ve found there have been more negative experiences than positive. I don’t mean just from those complaining about their factions being nerfed, but also from those who complain about players who have been on the sharp end of the changes, but whose own factions are sitting pretty. In some respects, behaviours have been entirely selfish, and it’s not something I will indulge further. I am a beer/soda and pretzels player essentially. I don’t do tournaments. I don’t play at the local store (to be honest, I do very little at the local GW store, including buying stuff). I play within a friendship group. However, debates and arguments seem to be driven by those who do play competitively, and like to be loud enough to shout down those who do not. I’ve even been guilty of doing that sometimes. But it’s exhausting trying to be objective when so many players are not even attempting to. Dystopian Wars 2.0 doesn’t have a forum that I know of, and even if it did, I wouldn’t join, for the reasons above. The hobby is more fun without others forcing their views onto you. That’s not a hobby. And it isn’t even interesting, if you really think about it. I’m not laying the blame entirely on the great and good here. GW’s methods are, as we know, divisive (and even when they are not, trust factors are quite low for them – it’s a reputational thing that they haven’t done enough to address). The division spills over here, whether it’s balance, the cost of models, points, rules, models or whatever. That negativity can often drown out the good because you are looking for likeminded people to share your troubles/sympathy/empathy etc. But equally there are those who won’t... Arguably, if this my last post, then really I could just leave quietly. But I'm posting this because some of it might ring true with others on this forum. They might take away something that will help them. Or others might find nothing of use in this post. I love the passion of the players here. This is a good forum if you are coming to it for the right reasons (and only you can decide that). AoS is also a great game if you deafen the clamour coming from Nottingham, to play and invest on your terms, not GW’s. So I wish everyone well with the hobby, whether you’re licking your wounds with AoS 3.0, or optimistic for the next tournament. May the ‘bones’ be kind to you all. Best wishes Mcthew

  38. Howdy folks, Thanks for the invite. I believe someone mentioned this in the Rumour Thread but I'll repost for visibility. My name is Emmet Bryne, I'm a producer with Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Some of you might know us already as last year we released Warhammer Fantasy 4th Edition. We also make the The One Ring and Adventures in Middle-earth RPGs for the Lord of the Rings, as well as the Doctor Who RPG. More importantly, we are currently in development on the Age of Sigmar Roleplaying Game. In the coming weeks we'll have some big news to share about the Age of Sigmar RPG, so if you'd like to keep up to date you can head over to our Facebook page at the link below. I'm also on twitter where you'll find some of my wandering thoughts as I help write and develop the game. And lastly, there is Warhammer Fantasy RPG Discord, and they have been kind enough to create the "aosrpg" room for us in there. Thanks folks. Any questions, pop them below, but just be warned that there's only so much I can answer right now. All the best - Emmet C7 Facebook C7 Twitter My Twitter Ratcatchers Discord PS: I realise this is sort of a "news about upcoming news" post, but I wanted to start engaging with all of you fine folk sooner rather than later. We're starting to build the community around the Age of Sigmar RPG and I'm keen to get everyone's thoughts while we're still deep in development. Thanks all

  40. Not a rumour, but as this is the closest thing to a 'general' thread we have this is probably best posted here. I'll defend the choice to post this as I argue that official statements from GW affects all of us regardless which toy line we like and most importantly this particular statement affirms the official line of TGA (and hopefully ensures this hobby stays open, diverse and without hate) https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/11/19/the-imperium-is-driven-by-hate-warhammer-is-not/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Article&utm_campaign=Hate+group+response,+Nov+19

  41. Sigmar: Grungni!!! Why are my Stormcast dying to goblin knives! Grungni: Why are they fighting goblins?! This armour is made out of gold which is extremely soft and malleable. Sigmar: But I thought it was magical Sigmarite gold. Grungni: I mean it is, but only because you say it is... you just brought me a bunch of gold and called it Sigmarite. Sigmar: What!? Grungi: I thought that was just what we called gold now, like how you just started calling me a Duardin. I just thought you wanted to show off how Stormcast could magically come back to life by putting them in paper thin golden armour. Sigmar: This is bad! Grungi: Well at least my Dwar... I mean Duardin are all fully armoured!

  44. I held little more than cautious optimism for the blackTalon series, but this part of the credits removed any hype i may have had for the show. No names on the animators and showrunners, and unless GW had an A.I write the show, they didn't include the writers either. Credit is required for the creatives, and the way that GW tries to hide them behind a coporate charade is nothing but shameful. I suppose there may be an arguement to keep the identities of the rules writers hidden ever since the Matt Ward incident, but this is simply absurd.

  45. +++ Mod Hat On +++ Just to make it VERY CLEAR for some of you. This is the RUMOUR thread. Any more moaning in this topic about Lumineth Realm-Lords will result in mod action. This can range from points being issued to a cool off period (a temp ban) for you if you moan about them. You are welcome to make a new topic to discuss but it should be CONSTRUCTIVE criticism about them. This forum is for people to enjoy Warhammer, not read about people moaning about it. This is very important with the global pandemic happening around us right now!

  46. I'd still be extremely leery of any reduction of her style to "oh she's a girl, their eyes are like that" when her work is still the result of a lot of effort and craft, there's male painters who work in that same style, and there's prominent female painters whose style is radically different. The chain of 'female painter doing excellent work -> ah, here's a biological reason based on her eyes' seems to me to be a drastic oversimplification of what makes a good painter and what goes into the development of a particular painterly aesthetic. Comes off as a very Just-So story kind of situation. It's also not something anyone would say about a male painter; 'he's a dude, so he can paint like that'.
