  1. Oni Frostlord on Stonehorn Starting to look the part! Gonna give him a samurai esque backbanner and sculpt some more on the "quilen"'s face. C&c appreciated!

  3. Hi Everyone! I always see such lovely models/armys paint logs around here and those got me inspired to try to make one myself. I recently got some second hand Skaven models, that will become my second army, so it seens like a good time to do so! The first thing I wanted was to explore other colors with them, and as my first army is an autumn colors Sylvaneth, I decided to avoid earthly/dirty tones when possible. Well if i'm not going for they shadow look, why not try to go for a "light" look on them? Thus the Hysh-ish Skaven were born! I'm still brainstorming some of their lore (like aet

  4. Regarding new releases. Gw was closed for two months, but new 40k jumped the queue and was only a month late. The Stormcast and nighthaunt battletomes were released in August so the 40k codexes in October is back to being two months behind schedule. It looks like gw is going to take the 9 weeks between now and October to release the other models they previewed during the lock down. So that means underworlds, 2 Warcry warbands, Escher Necromunda, bloodbowl treeman and snotlings, Eomer for Lotr, Lumineth and of course Sons of Behemat. They will probably also release the easy to build 40k models

  5. Heres my 3 ghost dwarf heroes. Part of my never ending quest to bridge Total Warhammer and AoS. I tried my best to make rules that will play out like Clan Angrund's ancestral heroes. Any proofreading appreciated. Belegar is pretty much a thane. Just an extra tough dwarf tank with only a couple leadership abilities. Grimm is the engineer. I wish i could buy an arty buff for him but Lead the Attack will have to do. Other than that he's just a sniper. I gave him extra shot to act as his shotgun. I could cut his 2-handed cog axe for a couple extra points but I chose to stay lo

  7. Next 2 up. Went 1-2 again unfortunately.. all explained in the reports. Needless to say I'm happy to be taking a break from Skaven (aside from 1 or so a week for the next tournament) and focusing on something that plays a bit differently like Tzeentch or Fyreslayers. People seem excited about the 4 Doomwheel list so I'll probably be testing it out some this week.

  9. The first installment of 'Eavy Contrast for Age of Sigmar is here! And what a wonderful sculpt to start with too, probably one of the most beautiful Miniatures GW has ever made, the stunning Light of Eltharion. As always everything made with contrast paints and Highlights. Hope you guys like it!

  10. To be honest, I don’t think GDubs or Forgeworld have an internal logic to those things... All this is massive speculation with too many unknown factors to really mean something. I don’t have any sales-revenue numbers on the costs of keeping an army alive, but tomb kings or Bretons were very liked around here. Especially TK had a very diverse line, so there was an incentive to buy more after your necropolis knights with necrosphinx army was done, you maybe tried out some chariots... same for 30k, it seems to be selling well, then it gets faded out. And if something like that

  13. So i made a troggoth hag kitbash using one of the maggotlords and spare dankhold bitz and wanted to share it. It is real easy to recreate and probably alot cheaper than the fw model.

  16. The additional 6 completed Badfangs brings the warband to Warcry size at last! They were painted with a combination of Contrast and "traditional" Layer paints and I'm really pleased that they match the older models in the warband pretty well. ║╪ ╢╟║ This will be my warband for the Animosity II campaign. You can join this campaign too! The campaign website is here Animosity II – The Burning Winter

  21. Hey everyone, So a while ago I set up a blog on here to log my progress with my Beastclaw Raiders. With that army largely finished I've been on and off with some warcry and some 40k but with the sweet new Sons of Behemat model previews I've decided to jump back on the destruction train for starters, here are some pictures of my Aleguzzler gargant with a giants causeway themed base. I need to do a few highlights on the banners and shields, maybe I'll try some freehand. I've also got some more Mawtribes, Warclans, Rippa's Snarlfangs and even some Fimir on the way. Let me know what

  22. I think just the two 40K novels and the 40K art book unfortunately. I was hoping for new novels for Age of Sigmar. Seeing as it's the first week of Augusts release that means that the 2 Warbands are either going to drop in 1 weekend or theyll be separated. With the Lumineth dropping September I would hope the Sons can now drop in August.

  23. I have decided that I will try and make Viridian Pathfinders work and I will do it whilst avoiding the usual copy/paste lists 😅 (ok, it's probably going to suck, but it's getting really stale watching the same style lists play over and over). Here's the list, the "back of a cigarette packet" plan follows after. Allegiance: Cities of Sigmar- City: Living CityMortal Realm: GhyranLeadersNomad Prince (120)- General- Command Trait: Druid of the Everspring - Ironoak SkinSorceress (90)- Lore of Leaves: Lifesurge- City Role: General's AdjutantLord-Aquilor (170)- Artefact: Spear of the HuntBa

  24. Been working on my own Arkhan, mount's mostly done but haven't finished the rider yet. So yeah, I wanted *a* Petrifex nerf, if not one this bad, but I'm still quite sad that I didn't finish this project in time to get it on the table in the brief window when he was actually good.

  25. Legion of Night - The Blades Edge - AqshyMy List LoN List T1 As usual, going off memory so I don't take up time by note-taking, IE things may be a bit wrong but the ending score is correct. Also, yeah.. I need to take a picture at the end of each round instead of just "whenever I remember to take one". I win on drops and allow him to take T1. Boring T1 as expected; he moves everything forward and buffs up the right unit of Skeletons. On my turn, I largely do the same but don't bother with MMMWP and Death Frenzy fails to go off on a 3. I do as much as I can to negate the 2x

  26. would you believe I forgot to look at that reference? It is a bit too late with how many paint layers I put onto it, soI may keep it... but I may experiment more. And yea, I like the Azure, but worried it's a bit too magical. I dunno, may try a test of it over steel, but so far I a do love it. I always imagined sunmetal to retain a bluish tinge like the sky, or maybe a white hot style of metal.

  29. Hi, just wanted to ask a question and say good job on this overhaul. In the Order Warband table, several "Hero Elite Retinue" tables don't state that they are at a renown cost of 1. Is this the case or a typo? Again, great work. -K

  31. Welcome @TheRadiant I think if your initial interest lies with the RPG that you should focus on the faction that will help you enjoy that game system more fully. So if you play the RPG using minis I would actually recommend focusing on a faction that would function as your most common antagonist. So if your games typically see you in the woods fighting off Beasts of Chaos, or in mines staving off attacks from Gloomspite Gitz then selecting said army will give you access to a number of models to help fill out your scenarios. I play Slaves to Darkness and most of my Tabletop RPG's now feature

  32. Ggggargant! Finally slapped some paint on this guy. I'm going for a greener skin for this one and the next step is attempting to texture the skin in an effort to represent age (wrinkles etc.) I'm hoping he'll be finished in the next few days. I had an idea for a gloomspite gitz army from the realm of Hysh that used lots of creams for their robes in mockery of the Lumineth Realmlords. This is also the first time that I've used heavy weathering on a model and really like the effect it gives to the cloth and metals.

  34. I have been thinking about it and have about 70 extra points with the changes. I think 10 rat rat screens are a must and will probably do that with the points. I love the point savings for a 40 rat rat mob....but need those screens to ensure your ogres and 40s can get where you want them. Have to think about the warpseer...still think he is worth it for this army due to his battleshock role....but will have to play a bit safer with him as he is more vulnerable than he used to be.

  38. I'd love that. It has been said before: many of us will enjoy being able to play with different hosts/covens/guilds (whatever you want to call them). The thing is, really, that substantial changes to warscrolls are really rare - even in the latest books we have seen, it's not so much about different warscrolls (ok, with some exceptions) but it's about the additional layer provided by these sub-factions, which offer bespoke sets of powerful rules that synergise with the existing warscrolls, resulting in a net boost of the faction power level as a whole. Heck, you could even keep the Stalke

  39. - hosts: looking at newer tomes they all have great diversity depending on what host, lodge or whatever you pick. The competitive tournement crowd will probably still favour a single host but what I find cool when fighting against Seraphon or factions of more recent tomes Is that I never know if I will meet a monster list? A teleporting summoning list, or a melee based Saurus horde list. It would be absolutely awesome if NH could switch powers like that. Say I pick the spookyboohface host these guys are based on reviving lost models. If I instead choose the bedsheet badass host these are al

  40. @Thamalys what can I say? An upperty statement was made, I felt it needed calling out as it was verging on 'gatekeeper' territory, so I called it out (maybe a bit strongly,) and it's been acknowledged and we hopefully just move on. It's the Internet and disagreements happen, it's part of the joys of modern global communication. Do I dislike @EnixLHQ because of the statement, of course not, it's a forum for one of the most sub par armies, with one of the most poorly written and boring books, for a game with toy soldiers that has tiny global audience, this forum is not a device used to measure t

  41. And here is my Scholar hero! In english (not my native language) so please, excuse (and report) spelling errors! I've made this hero for home brew campaing and a really specific scenario. In the battle this hero will be involved, one army (CoS) have to get control and securing objectives in an old ruined town to find the location of a long time lost temple (that will be the place of the next scenario of the campagne). To reflect that, the CoS army will have to bring the scholar to controlled objective to have him able to investigate for clue to find location of the lost temple.

  42. I know it's been a bit, but here we are. Covid, Trump, the Cleveland Browns. It's all evil and distracts me from the hobby. I've made progress. I'm over 1500 points now!!! I clearly will need to go back and add dark brown lines between the bones, but that's a thing to do to the whole army at once later on. For now, here we are. Crawler and Big Guy ready.

  43. What’s up party people! It’s been ages since I’ve updated this thread. All the previous reasons (hate taking pictures, busy life, the great plague upending everything) apply. That being said, it’s time to show some of my most ambitious project to date. This was actually finished last year around this time, but I kept it under wraps with the intention of taking it to Adepticon this year and show it in the Golden Demon. This wasn’t exactly a “secret project” so much as I just can’t stand taking photographs, and prefer to share the miniature in person if I can help it. But, once COVID shut
