  1. Aelves players asked for giant war cows made of rock and armed with a massive hammer for years. So happy for you guys. 🐮💖

  3. Something I found interesting from the video, in the lore that Phil Kelly detailed about the Mountain spirit, is that the mountain spirit is still just a mountain, sentient and magical but still a mountain. It's the aelves that crafted an avatar for the Mountain spirit to inhabit and march to war "They wear these sacred masks that enable them to take form". and "transfer their mountain spirits into a host body" Phil kelly also named the creature that the mountain aleves revere, calling it an "Emetricon Longhorn" which is a creature on the slopes of mountains in hysh, that is effectively immortal. It can only be killed by another, not of natural causes. He says to the elves, these creatures embody endurance, Imortality and stoicism and that is why the elves of the mountain path take them as their sacred beast. So from this it seems like the bull motif was a choice by the elves, that they themselves imprinted bull aestetic onto the mountain spirit avatar on the mountains. That's all to say it has nothing directly to do with Slanesh impacting the design of aelves in age of sigmar. However, that said, Slaanesh impacting the appearence of the new aelves is already well established. The serpentine form of Morathi, and by extension her melusai are stated to be artifacts of their internment within slaanesh. The lack of eyes on nemarti in the idoneth range as well is a design choice meant to "taint" the appearance of new aelves by association with slaanesh. The new aleves incorporating slaanesh is nothing new.

  8. By Grimnir's flame! The Scions are amazing! Not only great variety but they're practically the realm of fire manifested with the mix of flame magic and exotic cultures seen in the books that travel that realm. This one especially is a must-buy

  12. Look, I've been saying it for weeks... the Sons of Behemat teaser is absolutely going to simply be a soundbite of a gargant going: "FEE-FI-FO-FUM, I SMELL THE BLOOD OF A SIGMAR MAN!"

  14. Well I kinda lost myself, when it comes down to my goals, buut i was able to paint a whole 2000points army for 40k, this month, so I’m basically happy with my progress and here they are my Khorne daemonkin ready to kill any bluish marines with guns

  16. Upon playing around in paint, I merged a custodes plume with the hammer unit. if anything I am not sure I like the result. I almost prefer the horns.... could just be my skill with paint.

  17. Right, apologies for yesterday’s whiney moment, I have checked myself before I wrecked myself and for the moment, at least, have got myself back on an even keel. Decided to start things off with some long overdue and units, so an Ad Mech Kill Team & the Godsworn Hunt just to, hopefully, get myself into the groove. then if that gets too fiddly I’ve also primed a load of random stuff like sone Azyrite ruins, objective markers, and endless spells for when I need to mix things up and just slap some paint down. LET’S DO THIS!

  19. Been very lucky that I convinced my family that while the kids are home from school “Art Class” should be painting miniatures. My daughter likes mythical animals so she’s been painting mounted Stormcast. My son tackled his Knight Incantors. My wife decided on a Phoenix. Has let me so far finish off three partially painted models (Chaos Lord on Karkadrak, The Changeling, Chaos Sorcerer Lord) and even start on a few new things (magister, ogroid thaumaturge). Only real downside has been the reminder that I’m only the third best painter in my family, and as my 9-year old son gets better I’m probably destined for fourth place... 🤷‍♂️ May shift to some assembly soon. Can we call that “Shop Class”?

  20. I've been using the extra time to steadily work on my backlog. By my count, I have about 100 unpainted Games Workshop models and over 120 unpainted CMON models (Cthulhu Death May Die, Rising Sun). Luckily, I stocked up on paint so I should be able to go for a few weeks of painting. So far, I've completed quite a bit of terrain from the Warcry set. I'm working on the Spire Tyrants now.

  21. Funny that you keep bringing up the KoS “cow” face. I always thought it was more “goat” like, to play into the more baphomet style. Difference in opinion I suppose. In any case, if the argument is that no one can use cows because one army has cows, then CoS can’t have pheonixes because Tzeentch already called dibs on fire and birds. Nasgash, Sigmar, and Gorkamorka have to get rid of all their skull iconography because Khorne was here first. Nurgle and Nagash have to go into a custody hearing over who zombies will visit on weekends. Sounds a bit silly to me.

  23. Those massive helmets could easily snap their neck. So goofy. The models vastly improve without the cow theme (below, from reddit/dakka).

  25. Found that online. I have to say I don't like the whole new range. The bodies/pose/bits can make excellent basis for conversion but as is, it's major No-No for me.

  26. Maaaaaan are we sure Slaanesh is locked up? These elves are really bloody horny... all jokes aside I love the hammer Aelves. I will probably cut off the horns on their helmets because I have a thing against any piece of headwear getting in the way of swinging heavy objects, or just cut the bovine part off completely, but my heavens everything else about them looks awesome. I love the giant mountain bulls as well (and hey bonsai trees are hanging off a cliff) Kinda sad we don't have a dragon riding elf, but you know, a giant mountain spirit is pretty good too. and plus, it's not a stupid wraith construct like in 40k, powered by dead elves so i'm happy for originality! Overall I just want a generic captain model to add some roleplay to my army and create my own dude, but so far I'm happy I saved up all my money for this release!

  28. I kind of wish they where instead of just sitting on top like that! There is a weird disconnect between the top part and the rest of the model. I would prefer if the top part was lowered to look like the mage sitting on the rock rather than this.

  29. Omg, this is the best! He looks amazing and I was hoping for more spirits! And there's 3 more sub-factions to go that can have even more!

  34. Nice idea! I'll be back with my contribution, but while I'm working on that, a suggestion: I think it would be neat if we each had one single post in the thread where we make our updates. Just keep editing your own post. That might help present all our stuff more cohesively and make viewing all the neat things easier. Just a thought. Update 01 Attached photos of our Area of Challenge (no shame for us!). Just the basement/hobby room area. There are others in other rooms of the house. Also, a photo of a Flesh Eater group for Warcry that I have done while in isolation. Our plan is to work on our main armies (Gitz and Bonereapers) and then tackle bunches of scenery.

  35. Well Stormvermins in comparison are basically witch elves, with just a worse save and less defensive powers if we include both allegiance rules. so comparing both of those pointsvalue I really think that Gwendar is more or less right eith his point prediction

  38. @Artobans Ghost to get a dirty white, depends on how dirty and how white... check out the citadel paint up but I get to get a dirty-ish white: rakarth flesh, karak stone, seraphim sepia, ushabti bone or even pallid witch flesh could work. for a cold white: mechanicus grey, drakenhof night shade, mechanicus grey (avoiding recesses) administratum grey, celestra grey, ulthuan grey, maybe white scar to highlight if very thin and specific. hope that helps a little. the other option is battle damage. Darren Latham's iron hands yellow shows a really neat technique for (relatively) easy battle damage that would break up that white and dirty it up if that is what you are after. On another note, pledge as complete as it can be. Wurggog prophet and 5 Brutes completed for this month: Ok, so not really Brutes. These are 40K Nobs that I have converted. My thoughts on these is that they are newly promoted Brutes, bigger than Ard Boyz and harder but not as well armoured (yet) as the full on Brutes. Breaks up the aesthetic anyway. Really happy with the Prophet. Lots of holes in this one but manage to get around it a bit. Comments are criticism welcome. Only the Megaboss on foot to go and then some warpaint on my Bonesplitterz and I am calling this army done. At 3000 odd points, thats enough green for a while...

  39. Been working on a couple of models for my friends Ogors Unfortunately I can't do the bases at the moment so I'm going to have to leave them for now My son is finally painting up the dreadnaught he got for Christmas so we will be playing some 40k. I'm also thinking of intorducing him to WarCry

  40. Yeah, that’s why I have a tiny hope that they release the digital version of the BT before that. It would give us something to read and to play around with lists, and they could sell at least that. Not today of course, but maybe we get the announcement today or next week.

  41. I used a random number generator and a spreadsheet to choose what to paint. On the first day I did my Forlong miniature from the Lord of the Rings, on the second my gravesite markers for Legions of Nagash. Then the RNG chose my 80 Flagellants and that's been my life between my 1 year old and my job for the last 12 days. One day, and hopefully soon, I'll be removing hordes of beautifully-painted zealots from the board as they get wiped out immediately.

  44. Dwarven home finished for now. Human inn next, then elven building. Maybe I'll open the building up later to make it a smithy, though it's really not made for that. Learned a lot, and already changed a few things in the next one.

  45. GW might never officially give them rules, but you can bet people will use models as "counts as". Just like you can't use all your 30K models in 40K officially, but you can most certainly bring them to the table as stand ins for regular 40K models and use them as conversion material too.
