  1. This guy I painted for the Golden Serpent competition on Lustria Online last Year: With the idea in my mind of an agile and striking old blood pursuing a victim across the jungle I started working on this mini. The first step was to make the Olblood look unique, to do this I used some bits from the carnosaur kit and the remaining weapon and head options for the old blood to create my guy. The first step was choosing the correct Bits, I did this by using silly Putty to put the pieces together and pose my guy: After that I glued everything together, magnetized the arm so that it could have different weapon options and used green stuff to sculpt everything together: After this I had to create the base, for it I used cold porcelain and a mixture of branches earth and stone: Than it was time to start painting the guy on top. I first started with a Black Primer. Than I proceded to paint it to have a base of the colors I thought would give me a good starting point for my end result. At this point I already knew that I wanted to use Blue, Yellow and Pink in my model and that I wanted it to be super saturated After I had my base colors ready, I started to work on the skin and the transition to the scales, making it so that it wasn't so abrupt. The skink I tried to use a mixture of purple and brown for the recesses and highlight with a mixture of yellow and bone on the edges, this was probably the longest part I continued doing this until I felt confortable with the results, at which point I added some small dots to the pectoral muscles to give it a little more depth. Following this I worked on the scales, here I used very simple techniques of layering the blues to get to a lighter blue at the edge of the scales, and I decided to break the monotony by painting the middle scales different. Latter was time for the face, and probably the part that I enjoyed the most, I pretty much used the same technics explained before but added sume glossy medium to the mouth the last part was the metals, and a slight OSL on the hand of the gods weapon he carries Having finished the Oldblood I worked on the Goblin, the hardest par here was working on the face and the free hand designs. Here is How It ended up looking after everything was put together:

  2. The latest addition to my Shyish Sylvaneth army. A unit of tree-revenants. I made them using dryad bits mixed with mainly black knight bits. I'm not really a fan of tree-revenants, but I do like having a variety to chose from when making a warband or army.

  7. I also managed to get a necromancer finished and a vampire lord (Although I think I might redo his eyes...)

  8. @urion well you may not like them but they look sufficiently menacing! It's crazy how dark the sylvaneth got compared to 15-20 years ago... As for me I can't paint this weekend but here's one of my recent figs. There's nothing GW except the base, and if I had to use it in a game it probably would be a zombie... the base is not done yet but I think the paint job is ok, although I'd love some honest feedback

  9. So last night I played a battle plan from the Quest for Ghal Maraz campaign book. It was an absolute blast! This leads me to a question that I think belongs in this thread -- when will GW next produce a campaign book?

  11. Right then, Better late than never but here are some work in progress photos of the aforementioned Krunkasaur. Tbh a video would probably be better as it's really hard to capture this beast in a single image; he big! These photos also don't convey the conversion work required to repose the Megaboss model, though some of you guys here may appreciate it being familiar with the model. Anyway, check it out;

  12. After a bit of mucking around I've completed my first Overlord test model (minus the basing). I'm thinking I can call this Barak Mjornar . Close enough.

  13. To the Stormcast players saying they need something better than a Celestant Prime, no you don't. SCE can already shoot as well or better than Wanderers, melee as well as Orruks, survive better than anyone else, and move around the table/deploy like Sylvaneth. You don't NEED to have the equivalent of what other armies are themed around. It's actually okay for other armies to have something that SCE DON'T have. I feel like SCE (the faction, not the players) are like the children that cry whenever another kid gets something that they don't also get.

  14. Good lord please don't be another ****** Stormcast... GW, you have tons of fans playing other factions/armies that desperately need support.

  16. Well, that was the best break of painting since I picked back up. But now I'm back from a three week holiday and I will be picking up the pace over summer. (Hoping to get a couple of games in at august) so first up I finished the command squad! i will be adding a banner to the bearer but I want to research and practice the logo this army is going to fly a bit first. So four more to go, need to clean up the green stuff first and then prime them.
