Your wife may be even more displeased if your girlfriend is a model

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-EU/Daemonettes-Made-to-Order I'm really torn. I have enough current projects to keep me busy through 2017, but a missed opportunity might be most unfortunate.

You folks know that Fenris part 2 is equivalent to End times : Glottkin, right? Fenris gets wasted, SW go rogue in despair, start a civil war as the Dark Angels lead the loyal chapters in trying to bring them back under the yoke, Guilliman wakes up, pushes through #Ultramexit and signs exclusive trade deals with the Tau and promises to Make Ultramar Great Again. The new high lord of Terra is a necron with a beard and manky robes. A new dark age of technology begins as all the technical institutions of the Adeptus Mechanicus shut down, their tech priests staging sit ins and protests against the non-intersectional expansionist policies of the western spiral arm. WH41K - in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only intergalactic sanctions and dank memes...* Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk *May not be true

I got one of those! He's "Uncle Vlad." He's the one who turned my main ghoul king (a terrorgheist rider) and has mostly retired to experiment with necromancy. I agree that it's a bit of a doofy model, but I still find it really appealing. It's so much class! I think it really works for an older ghoul king who has been warped and mutated by the power of his tainted blood.

If a single wood base was intended they'd just change the wildwood warscroll against to 1 base of citadel wood.. so it's not what was intended (and certainly not what is written, as you already said).

List's submitted! Gonna spend the night working on tokens to remind me what the hell is going on! Ben: I forgot to say on my email, I've paid for 2000 (Mr Hobgoblin paid for it) and 500. I'm waiting for money to show up in my PayPal to pay for 1000, should get that to you tomorrow.

You know I would say in matched play, Nagash has to be up there? He's 900 points for a hero who can only really cast 5 maybe 6 spells each turn. Yes he is a beast but he can be focussed down and he's only one unit so can't be everywhere on the board. 900 points gets you two vlozd who can cover the board more effectively. Or a two units of six crypt horrors and a courtier. With change

In progress Orruk ardboy. Bit of a mood setter for diving into destruction (albeit I'm going beastclaw raiders): Just got his base to do now. Then I will ponder how exactly I'll do the beastclaws.

I've found the new GW plastics aren't fun, for me at least, to put together. Even though the old stuff made perhaps worse models, I'm still nostalgic for being able to pose the arms and such in wild ways. Nowadays it seems like everything is assembly by the numbers. It feels like work to me, and gluing the guys together used to be my favourite part. Tangent anyway. I'm hoping we get some word on whether the battleforce boxes will be permanent or not. They are such great deals, would be incredible if they stuck around.

It is a shooting attack, but it does not follow the normal rules for shooting attacks. The normal shooting attack rules say that you pick one unit within range and visible to the attacker, then make the attack against that unit following the "Making Attacks" rule. Colony of Flitterfuries says to roll 10 dice for each unit within range, and each roll of a 6 inflicts one mortal wound. That completely bypasses everything in the "Picking Targets" and "Making Attacks" rules. It doesn't matter if those units are visible or not, because you aren't picking them as targets or making attacks against them. It doesn't matter if they are friendly or enemy, for the same reason. It's a regular shooting weapon up until the point where you choose to use it, then it becomes a special ability that overrides the normal shooting attack rules. Arguably, you still have to pick a single target enemy unit within range and line of sight — but it doesn't matter, because as soon as you do so, the Flitterfurries' rules kick in and replace the entire "Making Attacks" sequence.

Different strokes, I suppose, but I don't see that as a negative testing of boundaries at all! i much prefer monopose models since assembly and cleanup are my two most hated parts of the hobby. If GW can make awesome models I don't need to waste hours assembling, that's a huuuge step forward (or, in a positive way, backward) for me.

It deleted my whole post wtf.. chaos spawns are really close with the musle tone, but you'll want some arms and mayeb different heads. One of the heads looks cool its a three headed deal that you might also like. But the differents between a ghoul king and a chaos spawn is symetry so you'll need 2 arms, and i got 16 greats ones for you: with double claw, double scythe, and double hand arm option you can amek a great ghoul king with just this kit alone, but with the chaos spawn i could easily see getting 4 ghoul kings that all look unique. you'll have to do alittle green stuffing, but don't kill yourself with it. YOu can sell it with the paint really well if your not inclined to sculpt to much. I suck at both sculpting and painting, and i made a passable abyssal terror. as follows

Hey @TerrorPenguin Jon, after reading my last message it looks like a 'please pick my list for me' kinda message, sorry fella that's not what it was meant to be, So I submitted my list this morning so no more please help me messages, I changed my mind again but did take some of your advise. GKoZD (red fury & Ring) GKoTG (Ring) GKoFoot Haunter (Cursed book) 10 Ghouls 10 Ghouls 10 Ghouls 6 horrors 6 horrors Formations 'abbatior' & 'royal family' Total 2000points on the nose So the main plan is to push heavy with the big hitters, keep the Haunter protected with mystic shield as he is my only way of calling in the horrors, think the royal family is potentially really strong, yes I know I can't bring on additional ghoul kings because of lack of points but gaining +1 model in regrowing the horrors could make them really hard to shift especially if I place the haunter well, an opponents within 3" are at minus 1 to hit. the big concern is the small ghoul units and no way of regrowing the ghouls, it was eithe a ghast or the ghoul king, but I'm gonna hopefully keep two units fairly safe at the back, near my objectives and have the other which is part of the 'abbitior' formation and just yolo it forward as wide as possible and try and get lucky an roll some sixes an get some lucky mortal wounds off. Cheers for all your advise Jon over the last week or so, it has been very much appreciated.

Luckily for me I won't be playing tournaments, the most I get to play is occasionally with friends (the local wargaming group doesn't do AoS), so I'm gonna get some cheap railway modelling trees to make my wyldwoods.

Thanks for the advise guys, set myself some real achievable goals by Friday morning, definitely want to attend the event pumped up rather than stressed out an painting in a hotel room till god knows what hour. Re-wrote my list ( probably my tenth attempt ) and submitted it, now the pressure is a little more controlled. As for grudging Russ Veal, it least we could have lots of time to discuss what I did wrong as I take my army off in turn two.

Echoing everyone paint on the Thursday and then do the 500pt game on the evening and then the tournament on the sat and Sunday. You'll pick up the basics on the 500pt game and with 6 2K games you'll be learning every game. If you find you can't finish your army give me a shout I'll bring one my other armies for you to borrow mate.

Lord of slaanesh on demonic mount is a good combo option for the pile in and attack twice, 2 chances to break your enemy with the glaives, they are only bad when you get bogged down

Steamhead Duardin vs Tzeentch Arcanites would make me very happy. Whenever they do one of these box sets there is always one side that I don't like, but if that set were to come true, I would probably buy multiple copies.

The glaives give rend and bonus damage on the charge. It's the best platform for buffs. Khorne has awesome buffs. Glaives + Buffs = dead things. FMB

So now I'm thinking about a plot where an agent of Sigmar allows himself to be turned into a vampire in order to gather intelligence about what Nagash is planning, with a prearranged time at which he will be in the right place at the right time to be killed by ghal maraz so Sigmar can get ahold of him for a debrief before his reforging... . That would be fun, especially if the newly turned vampire starts developing relationships with the vampires and Death-worshiping mortals around him and starts to wonder if he really wants to go back to his old boss...

I think if GW did Shadow Aelves vs Light Aelves and a new series of campaign books it would sell like hot cakes. It would be like the Heresy of AoS. It's an amazing feat by GW really. In just a year they have built up a massive anticipation around the return of the Aelves.
  34. 1 point
A new starter set would be a great way to push 2 new factions and help grow the game. I'll be much happier when we get elves, dwarves and classic undead back with the new battletome treatment as their lack is a big failing of Age of Sigmar in my books. I don't know enough Age of Sigmar lore to know if there's a pre-existing conflict to justify elves or dwarves vs death but I'm sure they could theme a narrative. If GW wanted to stick with the Order vs Chaos theme for starter sets then Duardin vs Tzeentch followed by Aelves vs Slaanesh would seem quite on the nose for me.

I'm getting the Sylvaneth box for christmas, I believe you can be well on the way to a decent army with that plus a start collecting box. I know I'm gonna aim to build a Gnarlroot (already have some sisters of the thorn) for the option for some fun wizards; I'd also like to build an Ironbark (just add some shiny new dwarfs if indeed they are on there way).

++ Mod Hat On ++ I'm really excited about the Wrath of Magnus but can I ask folks to keep this Age of Sigmar related? Don't mind the occasional drift. Tzaangors are hopefully a crossover kit PS I'm really excited about this release

This is something so magnified by the anonymous nature of the internet. They'll do studies on this. It'll end up being a massive chapter in some magic sci-fi paper history book. I mean, I have loved and followed tabletop games, video games, board games since I was a kid. Before I had regular 'net (I got it at 17! I'm only 34 so I was just slow to the bandwagon!) I'm sure there were disagreements around hobbies, sports and such but nowadays hoo boy. That lack of face to face. What has it done?! Anonymity, emotional immaturity, perhaps some social maladjustment (all these people claiming the 'I'm a bit autistic' badge apparently) - it runs rife. You don't even need to dig deep. You wonder who knows they're trolling, who doesn't, who really cares about how they're perceived? I love vidya gaems, I love esports, I love the information at my fingertips but I cringe at the frankly terrifyingly huge swathe of unstable people with 0 self awarness on the net. There's two things I want to say as they seem like the contradict each other but they don't: 1. I am passionate about these kinds of hobbies and I think it's cool people are too! 2. People who are too passionate about these kinds of hobbies need to take a break. There's 2 types of passion, maybe there's two types of passionate people. There's the passion that drives people to do and create excellent things with other like minded souls against the odds... and there's the passion that drives people to stalk and abuse someone through all communication channels available like a beast possessed! And my final point that I have to add because everything in life is a beautiful balance is this: Sometimes the scary ones have a point. Often they are in the same 'team' as more reasonable people who want to present that point. It's just that the point is buried under bile and the fact that that truth is down there, tarnished, drives more and more to claim things like 'censorship' or <insert any political slogan you like> (all this applies to politics too but there's no need to bring that here). People can't talk with other people anymore when they've opposing viewpoints, maybe they never really could! PS What I've presented above is a series of ideas congealed (haphazardly) into one opinion. I may also have presented it wrongly and/or included incorrect information. Maybe someone might feel I was having a go at them, I hope that's not the case! It was not the intent. I know these kinds of crazies are out there but I've only talked with a handful. Which is weird because it feels like there are so many of them. If anyone wants to debate a bit that's cool! I'm super open to having my opinion changed or being educated!

See, that's the beauty of Original AoS. Build cool, make up for perceived deficiencies with more models. No "if I take this, I can't afford to take that" issues. Matched play leaves karib on the sidelines, sadly.

never use varanguard without archie. they don't have mark of anything without him. and they are already overpriced even if you use the full buff (using archie). if you want a flank, better use chaos knights. khorgorath is not that good alone, so drop him if you don't wanna bring more than 2. i don't know what gors do, but i recommend don't wander to other units that don't have khorne keyword. bring 20 blood warriors so you have 2 guys with the oversized weapon. you might wanna change the mighty lord of khorne to lord of khorne on juggernaut. lord jugger is better IMO. more skull cannon for range support. also if you wanna bring bloodletters, might as well as bring any DAEMON HERO KHORNE so they can have reroll to hit of 1. skarbrand, bloodthirster, or since you want to have flank, daemon prince of khorne is a great choice as well. skullgrinder might be awesome if you can activate his buff, but at 2000 pts, it's quite unlikely. so better bring another bloodsecrator.
  44. 1 point
It's funny that so many of you are sure that the model does not die. If it's not slain then the ring does not activate.

Yesterday i played a match vs Beastclaw Raiders. My opponent's list was something like this: Huskard on Thundertusk x1 Butchers x2 Mournfang Cavalry x4 Icefall Yhetees x9 Ogres x6 Ogres x6 My list was same in this thread consisting of: VLoZD w/ lance, chalice and shield Necromancer 40 spear skeletons 10 sword skeletons 10 sword skeletons 5 blood knights 5 blood knights 6 Spirit Host 200 pts for summoning. We played the Gifts From the Heavens I deployed Blood knights in the flanks, 40 skeletons in the center and heroes in the middle nearer to my left flank. My opponent made a first turn charge with yhetees to my leftwing Blood Knights with so many moves in every phase. He also came very close to my rightwing knights but could not charge them. As my Knights were in 10 of my Ruler of Night general VLoZD, only 2 knights were killed. In my first turn i charged with my rightwing knights to his mournfang cav, and in the left flank i charged with my spirit host and skeletons after giving them reroll to hit command ability and VHDM. As yhetees gave -1 to hit to enemy units hitting them spirit host did nothing and their deployment in front of yhetees was a mistake on my part. I attacked first with my knights charging to his Mournfang and killed one base and hurt another. He in response killed 2 knights in the other flank. My buffed uo skeletons killed 2 yhetees but due to his model removal they could not reach them in their second attempt with VHDM. My opponent charged with a block of 6 ogres to my rightwing knights all alone without support in my weak right flank. They could only kill 2 of them between Mournfang and ogres, in return my knights killed off a wounded Mournfang. My plan was to kill the faster elements of his army and hold off as long as i can. His general tried to kill the knights fighting with yhetees amd dealt 6 wounds to them. But only 1 knight died due to ruler of the night and also one knight had regenerated in my first hero phase. His yhetees killed another knight, leaving 2 knights on combat. I could not do anything in return as my skeletons were out of combat. His general stayed awwy combat to deal 6 MW in the distance. He also hold the comet objectives with his backline ogre troops. His butchers could not do anything meaningful. His second 6 strong ogre unit came close to my center line and charged at my summoned direwolves unit acting as roadblock. In my phase comet landed at my center near to his centerline 6 ogres. I regerenated again my beaten knights in my both flanks. I buffed my centerline skeletons unit with reroll and VHDM and cast mystic shield to spirit host. While my rightwing knights tanked alone, i moved other knights to my center to protect my comet and moved my spirt host in front of his sniping general to act as roadblock or charge him if the next turn passed to me. My general also took a charge position to his 6 ogres in my objective. My buffed up skeletons move in a way to make multi charge to his now alone yhetee unit and 6 ogres: Now the hero of the day was clearly the skeleton unit as they killed off both of the units with so many rerolled attacks. 12 skeletons made into combat with yhetees and 13 skeletons with ogres. They made 2 (with vanhel) x 3 (more than 30 skeletons in the unit) rerolled attacks per skeleton. They decimated them and VLoZD killed off the last guy. My rightwing knights had one standart bearer after the dust was settled in their side and he was holding 2 units by himself. My opponent conceded after this. So our knights are very tanky with their very good save, regerenating ability with standart amd hunger rule. Also their shield is golden to enemies without rend. The basic ogres deal 2 damage but have no rend on them. Only the mounts of mournfang. Our skeletons are very theeatening with their huge board presence and with right buffs they can decimate everything other than 2+ save units. This is where spirit host came into place. They can deal MW to high save units while can tank reliably to high rend low attack models. But i think maybe it is better to hold them in reserve and summon them where they are needed. But as they came in threes they loose their tanking ability. Sorry for the long post. Cheers

The Chaos Sorcerer Lord cost 140, the Rotbringer Sorcerer is 100. So you do pay for the (nice) extra abilities of the Chaos Sorcerer Lord.
  48. 1 point
No, there is no difference for the player (right now without a Battletome), but i think Khorne himself is angry for taking a wizard ?
  49. 1 point
If the ability is on the unit's warscroll, then it is part of the unit itself and included in the points. If the ability is gained from another warscroll, then you're looking at reinforcements. That's not official, but the only hard'n'fast I've seen that makes sense. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Really enjoyed the show as usual, and I actually think you guys are great just having a conversation and not sticking to a set format. If casual conversation means you can bang out a few more minisodes throughout the year too, I'm all for it. A niche is nice and all, but I think the people eating up Warhammer entertainment either on podcast or YT are mostly in it for background to painting. More talking, the better, doesn't have to be a professional production. Also enjoyed the self-mocking of "The hobby phase!" voices, haha. On subject of if AoS fluff has come to where we want it, I find it a yes and a no. They've done an awesome job setting the scene for Age of Sigmar and introducing a bunch of new factions, but they've also completely ignored a lot of the old races. If AoS was just the new stuff, they'd be banging on perfectly, but a lot of the model range is still unaccounted for and muddies my view of what the realms are actually like. Anyway, keep it up.
