Post your rarest models!

Recommended Posts

So over the years many GW products have become OOP and are actually quite collectable, much to my surprise. A number of factors contribute to this, such as the availability and materials they are made of, in addition to how awesome the models are. Take Queek Headtaker: his updated model was only available for a short time in metal before becoming fine cast. As such it now costs around £35-40 to acquire one of these models. Little did I know how much my boxed, metal twilight sisters on forest dragon was worth ?

Anyone have some awesome collectibles you want to share?

I have a pretty rare Dark Elf collection.

Most of the models you see here.

These guys were only released at the 1995 Games Day.  I have a unit of 20 of them .

This is a Temple Dog.  Very rare.  Not really sure where I got him!

I'm usually quite bad with selling off models that I don't want any more.

The one exception to this is a job lot of Confrontation - Alchemists of Dirz I still have hanging around. I'd imagine the Nemesis Clone is pretty rare as it only came with Nemesis, the expansion to the Rackham board game Hybrid.

1 hour ago, Rogue Mind said:

Purchased a second hand Spined Dragon a few ago for around £65.  Still in it's original GW box.  Loved this model.

That is a sweet dragon! I generally have a pretty big bias against sculpts older than the mid 90's, but that thing is very creative.

Nothing too rare anymore here, recently bought Harry the Hammer but he's still plenty in stock here locally. Used to have Archaon on foot, Malekith on foot, Galraugh and the Tzeentch sorcerer on disc but sold them all years ago when I quit WFB.

Other than that I recently found the old Scyla and Decheela (?). That was pretty fun :P

I don't have anything very rare or exclusive, but having started collecting over 20 years ago, I've got a bit of old lead in the collection:

Skarloc the Scout, from the Regiment of Renown set.

Sheikh Yadosh, a Dogs of War moneylender

Celestial-Wizard-03.jpg

Bronzino's Galloper Guns, also a Dogs of War unit

Cannon-01.jpg

And my very first Fantasy miniatures: Imperial Dwarves (colour scheme shamelessly copied from Wayne England)

I've only got the 25th Anniversary Harry the Hammer, Marius Lietdorf (metal), Captain Sicarius (Fall of Medusa V campaign), the pointing Grombrindal, and the pilot Grombrindal.

EDIT: Oh and a squad of the old Necromunda Arbites.

Since I painted the white dwarf carried by bug man and the slayer last month I found myself googling all the special edition white dwarfs. Just this morning I bought the pilot version from eBay and I undercoated the pointing grombrindal.

When I get them painted I might start hunting this pirate version:

This is one of my rarer ones I believe. Such a cool model! Still use him in my Master Maze dungeon crawl games too.

I have a lot of old models and honestly really don't know what is truly rare. One of my High Elf armies is completely metal albiet horses.. same with Wood Elves. I have original Space Fleet core game and pieces as well as all the Necromunda stuff. I've got some Saracens Dogs of War and Empires Knight Panthers too. How about a goblin doom diver that is a slingshot on wheels?
