Skirmish - Post your warband

Well, skirmish is officially here.

So why dont we post, show and talk about our warbands?

Feel free to post unsuported non bahemoth models. :)

Today ill have my firts match, 50 renown.

 

The grudge company:

1 warden king

1 auric runefather

1 irondrake with torpedo

2 ironbreakers

 

Still deciding about command and artefact.

He has 2 characters in that, which eats into a lost of the cost for a 50 renown warband. Personally I feel you're better off with more models than a second hero, but maybe the Runefather adds some X factor I'm not aware of.

 

As for warbands, I ran this warband yesterday and won 2 games with it

Chaos Lord - Inspirational Fighter - Helm of Authority

2 Chaos Knights

3 Chaos Warriors

1 Marauder Horseman

2 Marauders

Depending if you want more speed at the expense of toughness, you could trade a Chaos Warrior for another Horseman.

I didn't think Shadow/War dancers were included!

I love the Heirs of Loec idea though!

Unfortunately no metal or resin models are officially supported so that whole warband is based on unofficial points. The formula for calculating renown points seems to be the matched play point cost divided by unit size then divided by 5 (and rounded to the nearest point). You can figure renown costs this way for anything that is not in the book. The op did mention to feel free to post unsupported models! If I needed an official warband I'd use the first one I listed, but if I could ok it with my opponent beforehand I'd love to do some wardancin' in skirmish.

Love the ghost dwarf idea @mDaro!

A question for all you people with the rulebook in hands...

Can you play a human battlemage?

More specifically, the spell Final Transmutation seems pretty OP in a small skirmish sized game where every model counts as a unit in itself?

Yes you can have a battlemage.  As for the spell being overpowered, I don't see how it would be.  Compare this to most other spells or abilities that deal mortal wounds and it's going to be roughly the same power as those as far as removing models from the table.

Yep battlemages are in the book and you can pick a mage from any school of magic as normal. There are definitely some potentially broken abilities and spells for skirmish. Take a look at the Knight heraldor's thunderblast for example. At least the mage has a 6+ save, and at least you can potentially try to unbind an op spell.

Hah, I hadn't thought that through...... You're right of course. On a 1-3 wound model most spells will be powerful. Too tired to be active on the boards today. Will skulk over to my cave and not come out until I have more wits with me...

Lol I still think transmutation does shine in skirmish though! Doesn't deal mortal wounds so it gets around ward saves if you badly need a particular death model removed from an objective or something.

Not to mention leaving living statues all over the place in a city already nuked for not allowing souls to pass on.... Yeah, that should be fine ;)
