Let's chat Kharadron Overlords

In The Iron Dragon, the Endrinmaster could 'power up' shots. That would be a cool ability to add. Say 'instead of randomizing, this ships main weapon does it's full damage' so instead of d3 it would be 3.

Or just "Endrimaster can recharge Supremacy Mine on Ironclad or allow a Skyvessel to act as if had received no wounds" Command Abilities (for CP).

If we are at Iron Dragon then Navigator ranging pistol should deal some mortal wounds ;/

It could be just said that unit embarked on Skyvessel cannot be shoot while embarked, unless they decided to shoot(from the ship deck)  in the previous shooting phase. Seems quite easy and lean.

Also embarked unit should be able to fight in combat phase anyone who's actually engaged with a ship, while receiving a bonus of cover and mayby additional -1 to be hit ? (so Skypikes would finally be usefull)

Heck fully "garrisoned" Frigate would cost around 360 and still won't be that powerfull while comparing to some other options in this point range...

320pts gets you Arkhan The Black so, yeah.

Another point, a Barak-Mhornar general with the Opportunistic Privateers trait would get so much more use out of it imo.

It just needs a good set of wording to prevent some rules lawyer saying that a ship garrisoned with units cannot move.

This still won't get the Overlords to where they need to be though.  The ships all need their saves bumped up by 1.

Giving kharadron heroes Command abilities would go a long way (provided they were good abilities) to helping the army out this coming edition.

How about this; the Aether Khemist's augmentation ability becomes a Command Ability, and in return, rather than just boosting one selected weapon type in the unit, it boosts all of the units weapons.  This would really help out Thunderers, since they're now limited in their choice of weapons.  And let them boost ships as well.

I would also make the Navigator's aetherstorm a Command Ability and give it a similar boost.  Also, had a thought, if the garrison rules were used for embarking and disembarking, would the ships be able to 'see' a navigator who's on board a ship, thus getting their Aethermatic Navigation rule in effect?

With the new CP system, it could work. If you lowered the cost of khemists again.

Hi, hello, good day! This is my first post on this forum, so be gentle. Now questions!

Has anyone tried playing with the leaked pointcosts yet, and have anyone tried out the warscroll battallions yet?

I’m currently list tinkering with a grundstock escortwing, 3 arkanaut company and an ironclad. Think this could be an interesting combination with the ironclads command abilities, but I’m uncertain on what heroes I should bring.

Since the point leakes were super grainy I think the escort wing should put us back between 130-150 points, so I’m thinking navigator spam, but an admiral could also be nice as the ignore combat shock ability had helped me bigtime in previous games.

Sky port wise the escort wing should go really well together with Barak Mhornar, and "who strikes first, strikes hardest" has been crucial for getting my arkanauts out of CC in the two 2.0 games I have played.

Thoughts?

Morning all,

Thanks for all the great contributions made here since the battletome came out. It's been one of the more interesting "Let's chat" threads, what with the fall out from GH2017, but the time has now come for this to be locked as we move into the new edition. To continue the Kharadron Raiders discussion, please head over here....
