Bullgors. Did they worth it?

Hi! I want to give my Khorne-themed chaos army a bit of punch, and as I'm not a ultracompetitive player I can accept that my options are not optimised. I love the Minotaur models of GW (I know that many people hate them, but I just love them... even... yes. Even the Pumbagor. I love all of the miniatures of the Beastmen release many years agó!) so I was thinking of buying 3 or 6 to run them as a good hammer.

Are they worth it? I'm not talking alone in a ultra competitive meta, I just want to know if they are "good enough"

And if they are worth it. How should I build them? I was thinking on the Great Axes because that -2 Rend can be very good with my rend-less army, and the bonus of the Shield don't seen good enoug to me (I'm sure that if they die, its because they are shoot to pieces, so no +4 save for shield in meele) and the reroll of to hit rolls of 1 its a little meh.

I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna buy them regardless, but I just want strategic advise, and to decide if I buy 6 or just 3.

Thanks!

PD: This idea come to me after I saw the mierce Minotaur hero and thinking... I need some budys to go with this doombull.

I believe Mierce are doing a 25% off over Easter weekend. I already have 12 of their Bullgors and 2 Doombull. Yet to build them though

Oooohh... then I'll wait. Thanks! I love their doombull, but the Minotaurs, like the Scibor ones, are very... cow to me. Like two leged bulls and not monstruos half human-half bull. I know thats the original minotaur its a men with head of a bull, but still.

I use them occasionally in smaller games. They're fantastic in that they kill whatever they get into (Doombull killed 15 Chaos Dwarfs in one go last week) but with only 4W and a 5+ save they do die pretty quickly in return.

I use the Mierce Models as well, they're fantastic. Only have 6, the Doombull and Ghorgon tho

if you're not a competitive gamer, then you really want to look at the Bloodscorch Bulltribe batallion from GODBEASTS :)

ORGANISATION

A Bloodscorch Bulltribe consists of the following units:

• 3 Ghorgons
• 3 units of Bullgors

ABILITIES

Add 1 to the Wounds characteristic of all Bloodscorch Bulltribe models.

Slaughterers of Khorne: All units in a Bloodscorch Bulltribe have the KHORNE keyword. In addition, you can re-roll failed charge rolls for a Bloodscorch Bulltribe unit.

It's such a pity this didn't make it into the blades of khorne book.

I think they took a bit of a hit with Rule of One as they won't generate attacks ontop of attacks.  They are better when they have the Doombull's Command Ability for that +1 to Wound, which makes them generate attacks on a 5+.  This could be a problem though if you are keen on running your Khorne stuff as the general.

I used that Khorne Batallion and played the matching scenario. Boy was it fun. Bullgors destroy what doesn't kill them. Yes great axes are the way to go. Rend is king.

I backed it with a Bloodsectator, Bloodstoker and Plague Priest. Even on their own, 6 without buffs would take off a Terrorgheist in one go.

I'm playing a pure Warherd list this Saturday. Looking forward to it.

I recommend you start with 6 with Great Axes, and pick up a Doombull to get bonus hits on 5s. I really like Ghorgons and multiples work like they did in 8th (really well) but the community has mixed results. I assume there are armies I haven't faced with them.

Good luck they are a threat that people will zero in on early. Make sure you understand their Musician and Standard bearer well too.

I am a huge supporter of the warherd in general. They don't have great saves but they are fairly quick and hit like trucks. Ghorgons annihilate lower save enemies, bullgors the tougher ones, and the doombull makes them all do it better.

I play a Cygor (with my Breyherd) and they really are fantastic at finishing off wizards (as well as neutralizing their spells - two despells per phase that heal you/wound them is great on lower level wizards). I've had a Cygor (with Fireglaive support) take out both Neferata and a Vamp Lord on AT in the second turn of a game. Take one along!

looking at the minotaur above, if only the GW minotaurs had the reverse knee legs - there was always something about the model I could never mput my finger on... and That's it!!!

might have to attempt a conversion.

The Ungulote leg joint.  Yeah GW dropped the ball on the minotaurs in a few ways.

The good news is yes, they hit like trucks, doombulls are amazing.  It's worth looking into them if you are a fan.
