Thor
Hello People of the Internet, finally got a hold of the new stormcast book and ive been dying to use the new Stormhost Battallions, Celestial vindicator's Warrior Chamber ( god that's a long word) in particular strikes me as being good. I could use any Input and experience with it. Here's what ive got so far. Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals Leaders Lord Celestant On Dracoth (220) - Command Trait : Shielded by Faith - Stormcast Eternals - Stormstrike Glaive & Thundershield - Artefact : Armor of Silvered Sigmarite - Dracoth Trait : Drake-kin Lord Relictor (80) - Artefact : Sigmarite Pendant - Prayer : Lightning Chariot Lord Relictor (80) - Artefact : Sigmarite Pendant - Prayer : Divine Light Units 5 x Paladin Protectors (200) - 2 x Starsoul Mace 5 x Paladin Protectors (200) - 2 x Starsoul Mace 5 x Paladin Protectors (200) - 2 x Starsoul Mace 5 x Judicators (160) - Skybolt Bows - 1 x Shockbolt Bow 5 x Judicators (160) - Skybolt Bows - 1 x Shockbolt Bow 5 x Liberators (100) - Warblade & Shield - 1 x Grandblades 2 x Fulminators (240) 6 x Prosecutors with Stormcall Javelins (160) - 2 x Stormsurge Trident I'm Trying to abuse the new Command Ability. along with the Rerolls to hit, The +1 Attack Should hit most of the Army. Including Fulminators and the Celestant Himself, The Celestant will position himself so he can buff Either the Protectors or the Fulminators, or Both ! in that very furtunate circumstance ofc. He is tanky, should be able to survive atleast a few rounds. Hopefully. Pros, The army is resistent to shooting, It should be very "killy" on the charge Great Alpha strike potentiel. Cons, Weak vs Magic. Failing Charges means you get a lot less out of your units The Prosecutors are High Priority targets, Killing them disables the Hammerstrike. Thought's? - Thor
Ruben
Solid. Personally I think your judicators are kind of in an awkward position, given that the intention of your list is to go all out assault with deepstrikes to ****** ****** up. Your judicators won't be contributing much here: 2 units at 2k points are just mince meat and won't do much, so either you fit them with crossbows (which suck), or you replace them with even more punchy units. At 320 points you can bring in 1 retributor + 1 liberator squad, or 1 concussor with 40 points to spare, or 1 fulminator + 1 more prosecutor (3 man) with javelins to create another mini deathstar. Also, be prepared to drop your protectors for decimators when going up against horde armies. Protectors are really really meh against hordes. At 2k points you're looking at factions that can put down 2x 30 plaguebearers that -2 hit on shooting and -1 hit on melee, and 1 unit gets to have 2 wounds per model if the magic goes off from the Glottkin. Stuff like that can really turn your list into useless tissue paper if they choose to tarpit and grind you down.
Thor
Thank's for the input! i haven't had the pleasure of too many Horde unit's, Except for Bloodreavers. so i havnet really considered decimators. So +1 Decimator and - 1 Protector in the hammerstrike. I Could exchange the 2 unit's of Judicators with Liberators, that will net me a 120 Points, ( i still need the 3 Battleline required). Not sure for what use though. Maybe a Knight Heraldor? to make things go smoothly? I dont have that much of Character sniping, with the Dracoth's Low range i thought the reach of the bows could take out a scrawny wizard?
SpiritofHokuto
Personally I think you need to beef up the Prosecutors because if they get wiped your paladins are left out to dry. I'll also kind of echo what Ruben says, 5 Protectors will struggle against hordes but the answer isn't Decimators. They'd have to be in range of 5 models consistently to outperform "Speak with your Swords" Protectors never mind if they get wounded and get the rerolls. Better to bump one unit up to 10, the 3" range on the glaives should mitigate the larger unit footprint. Lastly, you want your Prosecutors in the thick of it so you can bring down your paladins in the best positions. Celestial Hammers are better at <9" rnage which is where they'll be most of the time. Here's what I'd do: Allegiance: Stormcast EternalsLord Celestant On Dracoth (220)- General- Stormstrike Glaive & Thundershield- Trait: Shielded by Faith - Stormcast Eternals- Artefact: Obsidian Amulet - Dracoth Trait: Drake-kinLord Castellant (100)- Mystic Light: Lantern of the TempestLord Relictor (80)- Artefact: Spellshield - Prayer: Lightning Chariot5 x Liberators (100)- Warblade & Shield- 1x Grandblades5 x Liberators (100)- Warblade & Shield- 1x Grandblades5 x Liberators (100)- Warblade & Shield- 1x Grandblades10 x Paladin Protectors (400)- 4x Starsoul Mace5 x Paladin Protectors (200)- 2x Starsoul Mace5 x Paladin Protectors (200)- 2x Starsoul Mace9 x Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers (300)- Celestial Hammer & Sigmarite Shield- 2x Grandaxe- 1x GrandbladeCelestial Vindicators Warrior Chamber (80)Hammerstrike Force (120)Total: 2000/2000
