Draft - scoring for the next campaign.

Here is a draft of what the scoring system will be for the next campaign, from the first week of April through the last week of June.  Details on army selection and scenarios and Hobby Challenges to follow soon.

Let me know if you have any comments or questions, and I'll incorporate changes as required to the final version.

**************************************************************************************************************

We will be following a fairly simple scoring formula for this campaign.  There will be seven campaign episodes, in each of which we will play a different scenario from the Realmgate Wars.

  • For each episode, you can receive 2 Glory Points for winning, or 1 Glory Point for drawing the scenario (if you play more than once, only the first result will count).
  • For each episode, you can receive 1 Glory Point for Attendance, by submitting your result on time to the organizers.  You can still join in later and catch up, or continue to play after missing one episode, but will not receive the Attendance points for any results submitted late.  By "on time" we mean prior to the start of play for the following episode - if you submit your result for Episode 3 on the night of Episode 4, that's cool.  The day after Episode 4, and you don't get the point.
  • For each episode, you can receive 1 Glory Point for Painting if your entire army is painted (we're not going to give you objective guidelines for what counts as "painted" - use whatever definition your conscience will allow).  It doesn't need to be newly painted, just painted.

There will also be two Hobby Challenges (details to follow).

  • For meeting the first Hobby Challenge, you can receive 5 Glory Points for Hobby.
  • For meeting the second Hobby Challenge, you can receive 10 Glory Points for Hobby.

We also have a "Spread the Word" award.

  • If you bring a new person to the campaign, then if and when they submit their 5th episode result, you can receive 5 Glory Points for Spreading the Word (again, we're not going to give an objective guideline for what counts as a "new" person - use your judgement).  While we'd be delighted if you Spread the Word to more than one new player, you can only collect the award one time.

The winner of the campaign will be the player with the most Glory Points at the conclusion of Episode 7.

A note about make-up games and playing non-members of the campaign.

It can sometimes be difficult to make it down to the store for the scheduled times, and we wish to give some flexibility to help people make up their missing games.  To that end, here are a couple ways in which you can make-up games outside of the normally scheduled campaign nights:

  1. Come to the store on the off-week and play a make-up game on Thursday night.  This game can be against another player who needs to make-up the same scenario, or against another player who has already played that scenario (this game will not count toward the other player's progress), or even against a non-member of the campaign who happens to be in the store.
  2. Find a table with some terrain and play a make-up game anywhere.  We are restricting this option a tiny bit, compared to the above.  You can play a make-up game anywhere any time, but if it's not at the store on Thursday night, it has to be against another player from the campaign - not against a non-member.

Painting I think should use the standard metric that is usually used.

Minimum 3 colours, and based.

Based implies either a scenic base which is painted and/or a base flocked with some sort of basing material. No plain coloured bases for examples sake
