Lardidar 264 Posted January 26, 2017 Welcome, I'm also York-based and very new, having started a few days ago. There is also @Soulsmith and @Nick in York so a few of us. I'm popping along to GW tomorrow for the first time in ages, going to try the game and oggle some miniatures.

I do aos with my kids, one is also 5 and both like painting with me - poster paints and cheap brushes = bonding time
Nick in York 152 Posted January 26, 2017 Welcome Temp. We seem to be getting a few Yorkies in here. The staff at GW York are really supportive and dedicated to community building so we're really fortunate.
Soulsmith 1,167 Posted January 26, 2017 Howdy! Yeah, the York staff are great guys, I regularly paint in store as it's a great atmosphere. If you ever need an opponent, there's a big AoS scene here.
Temp 9 Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks for the reply all good to know friendly people are out there. Yeah the few shop in town is good the staff are very help played an aos demo game last week and loved it (got my but kicked but it was fun). In terms of an army to start I am still not sure really I do like the look of new tzeench stuff but there are so many good looking models across the table not sure where to start really. But I am sure I'll pick some soon.
Soulsmith 1,167 Posted January 26, 2017 What kind of army are you interested in? We can certainly help discuss how they play
Temp 9 Posted January 26, 2017 I really like the look of the Brey/warherds but not sure if they could be a self sufficient army or not having said that Inhave been told i could mix them with other chaos with no problem.
Soulsmith 1,167 Posted January 26, 2017 You can. I have heard they aren't fantastic since they're a bit dated right now, but if you're into chaos go for it
Temp 9 Posted January 26, 2017 I have a small child a wife and a Mortgage definitely relate to chaos I'll pick up the book and have at look at some warscroll battalions see what I fancy
Soulsmith 1,167 Posted January 26, 2017 Hah that's one way to put it. Best advice I would say is go in store and chat, they can help guide you.
