Getting the most out of the charge - AOS Tactics

Hi All,

I have finished the second post for Age of Sigmar Tactics: Getting the most out of the charge!

In the article we discuss how and why you should:

  • Decide on a charge plan in the hero phase so you can use abilities and moves accordingly
  • Choose a unit and target that can get you the biggest advantage out of the alpha strike
  • Roll your decision-making charges first
  • Make room for your other units on the charge
  • Prevent accidental enemy pile-ins
  • Minimise the damage on the units you will activate later by:
    • Preventing enemy pile-ins
    • Buffing and debuffing to optimise damage and minimise damage taken
    • Strategically removing slain models
    • Creating an odd number of activations
    • Killing enemy models that have yet to activate

I would love feedback on my writing and the visual format, does it work for you?

Last week's (and first) post was about optimising and defending for the double turn.

I am looking forward to your input and feedback!

I like it!

One thing I note:

In "Removing dead models in front of unactivated units", in the example the bottom unit of bloodreavers can still pile in and attack (if in reach) remaining in combat I think.

I think you're aware of that anyway as in the next topic "Killing Enemy Models" you note "Units that have charged are always allowed to pile in 3″, even if there is no enemy in range."

Or maybe I'm just reading too fast and misunderstand everything :)

I think the principle is still sound though, it's just the example used.

I love the examples btw. Very clear presentation visually.
