Hi, I'm re-basing now, and it's not as tough as I thought it would be. Sure, cutting off the old square base on the first model and on the army leaders was scary but I'm really happy with the results. It's also given me an excuse to touch up the parts of the models that I was never happy with.

Here is where I'm at now in no particular order.

Next on the chopping block are re-basing some Dragon Ogors and painting five Blighkings. I'll post more as I go.

I really like these!

You should post them in the gallery for sure!

How did you do the bases?  Is it the GW texture stuff??

It's Vallejo texture paint Dark Earth #26.218. See here I paint it on over a dark brown base, put a few thin washes over it, normaly Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade, and Biel-Tan Green, and drybrush it bone. I got a big pot of it years ago before the GW texture paint came out and used it ever since. It's a much finer texture than the GW stuff and has a true matt finish. It's my absolute favourite way to base things and I use it on everything now.

Great looking army and actually very reassuring that rebasing is not so bad, I think the perceived effort has put me off. Especially like your Lord and Sorcerer!

Ok, Dragon Ogors based on curvies. I'm afraid the pictures are not great. Hard to get a good picture of big models on my iPhone.

I've used these bad boys in a few games and have found that they are a good tank unit but don't really put out that much damage. In the future my plan is to pop them on an objective and try to support them with a wizards shield and their Summon Lightning spell that adds back wounds. Not the greatest unit in the game but solid.

On to painting Blightkings next.

Some terrific paint work here sir. Really like the colour scheme you have used. Its not too God specific which is great for the Slaves to Darkness. I particularly like the black on the sorcerers robes. Thats really well done.

Here are a few more pictures that I had stored on the hard drive of stuff that I've done since AoS landed.

After this expect the rate of new images to slow right down to my painting speed as you've seen almost everything now :-)

Working on some Blightkings now. The skin and armour is all but done. Maybe the green needs to be a touch lighter. Gotta get them done before Quest lands on my painting desk!

Tried MNMM on the sword and it's worked out ok. The secret is using metallic paint rather than just black to do the shades. Should finish him off on the weekend.

Great looking Nurgle models. Whats the green color you use for the armor?

Keep up the good work!

It's Deathworld Base with a wash of Agrax earthshade. Highlighted with Ogryn Camo and given a glaze of Doombull Brown in the shadows to give it some more zing and a rusty look.

Awesome work throughout. It's all really good, amazing metallics and red armour in particular.

I like the different pale flesh tones that you've used on the Khorne and Nurgle models too. Could you share your recipe for the Nurgle skin please?

I'll be watching your blog with interest.

Thanks. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The skin is the old Deneb Stone mixed about 50:50 with steel legion drab ( Rakarth (sp) flesh would work too) as a base. I used glazes of Agrax Earthshade and then Reikland flesh as the shades. Highlights are more glazes of pure Deneb and Deneb with white. I kind of make it up as I go so can't give you exact ratios, I'm afraid. Hope it helps anyway.

Been doing more work on Mr Demonspew and hope to have him ready for his game debut next Saturday.

What a fantastic log - your blends are making my jaw hit the ground, so so good! The Darkoath Champ is shaping up to be a pretty amazing addition to your collection.
