MrCharisma
I think I like the mat yellow over the shiny gold that you traditionally see with SCE. Nice work Sir!
harrocks
yes, the matt look works well.
Ulf
Thanks! I wanted to go with something a little different. Plus, it's pretty quick to pull off. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to actually play an army that's completely painted.
Ulf
Finished my first unit of Liberators. I like the color scheme a lot more now that I see it on multiple models at the same time. Next up will be a Lord Celestant on Dracoth, and some Prosecutors.
polarbear
I like that scheme a lot. For whatever reason I find Stormcast very difficult to nail down a scheme for, and I've seen a lot of people struggle with them too.
Ulf
I think that could be because metallic paintschemes tend to look a lot better close-up, and get kind of muddled the further away they are. I tried a couple of metallic schemes, and I just couldn't get the level of contrast dialed in right. But I'm happy with this version, and the matte look is working well on my dracoth characters and cavalry models.
Bruinin
Is that done with just washes?
Ulf
13 hours ago, Bruinin said: Is that done with just washes? The matte yellow is actually just two steps, over a grey primer. P3 Sulfuric Yellow, and then undiluted P3 Brown Ink. P3 Brown Ink might be my favorite paint of all time. It's really similar to Vallejo Model Color's "smoke", but way thicker. harrocks
yep, looking great - going to have check out the brown ink. thinking out loud, but perhaps a final, quick 'n rough drybush with a metallic paint?

DynamicCalories
There are really nice, and a refreshing change from the usually bronze babies that we see.
Ulf
Thanks! I haven't added many pics recently, but I I have been working on a bunch of new stuff for this project lately. Some Dracoth mounted models, and some Scourge Privateers. The fluff is meant to be a bunch of Stormcast who live in a coastal forest in the Realm of Beasts, helping a rag-tag collective of aelfs & humans fight against Chaos.
