Bridging the Gap-- world that was and the new realms

Recommended Posts

Just wanted some thoughts and feedback on some lore or lack there of. In the last book of the End Times all things were destroyed , everything from world to gods but when the new realms are created old characters are for lack of a better word "reincarnated" like Nagash and the everqueen and given their own realms based on the Magic they  represented in the End Times. So if this is the case I have a few questions and thoughts. First questions is why is grimnir a pile of shattered gold and not still whole, what happened to valya the female goddess of hearth and hold? What happened to the elf gods of old dead or just forgotten?  A thought that has been floating around in my head is from the book slayer ( love gotrex and Felix) when grimnir chose Gotrex to carry on defending the realm gate from the 3 daemons was Gotrex not spared destruction in the end times because he exists in the realm of chaos? Is it there for not possible that he is still alive in the Aos still fighting the good fight and existing as a Demi God.? I think it could be a great story if some of the stormcasts that are trapped in the realm of chaos ( due to selfless sacrifice and closing a realmgate) find Gotrx and bring him back into the fight against chaos.

Love be to hear some thoughts or theories on this thing thanks

The first few questions you asked are explained in quite alot of detail in the end time books. (SPOILERS)

- Grimnir was saved from captivity by Sigmar. Grimnir wanted Sigmar to give him a task so that he could repay his debt. So Sigmar asked him to slay Vulcatrix the mother of salamanders who was terrorizing the realm of fire. Grimnir slew Vulcatrix but was shattered into fragments in the process.

- Valya was 'Eaten' by nagash during the endtimes.

- Most of the elf gods had died out before the beggining of the end times. it was suggested that some if not all took on Mortal Avatars (Tyrion = Khaine, Malekith = Asurayan morathi = Hektari etc) and essentially replayed the battle of the gods all over again. By the end the avatars were either killed or what little essence of the gods that was left was exhusted.

The whole Gotrek thing is a little up in the air.

Gotrek was supposed to replace grimnir. While the real grimnir was planning to re join his people and fight in the end times.

Its unclear if the grimnir in the new setting is the old one (In which case Gotrek could still be in the realm of chaos somewhere and GW will proberbly save him for a rainy day.) OR the grimnir of AOS is Gotrek but for some reason he has taken up the name of Grimnir (Along with everything else)

the third option is that GW will never clear that one up and just let it fall to the wayside :(
