L.Bromley
I have been mulling over using my Vargulf as an assassin, giving him the cloak of mist an shadow an send him off on turn one to try and one turn kill my opponents key synergy hero/banner bearer/ wizard, what do you guys think? Good idea or a waste of 160pts
CoffeeGrunt
I can see it failing against any major Hero and being torn apart before you can get the rest of the army up there, but it might end up tying them up for a turn. Would depend on your enemy.
L.Bromley
I don't see him lasting to long, but I do feel he could take the stormcast teleport banner guy out in a turn or the bloodbound multi attack banner. These are key almost auto picks (there is probably one auto pick for most armies, I just don't know them yet) an I have seen on battle reports that losing the main link of synergy to your force can completely ruin your plans
CoffeeGrunt
Maybe, though the Varghulf is more expensive than them, IIRC.
Solaris
I probably wouldn't use it on the first turn, but the cloak is great on killy heroes.
Grimnaud
Cloak on a Varghulf, definetly! As an assassin, no. He's nowhere near killy enough without buffs. The cloak is great for a surprise regeneration for a horror or ghoul unit or for that sudden charge to an objective or into a soft unit.
Sutek
Losing your Varghulf turn one would greatly diminish your ability to bring back ghouls/ horrors / flayers so just taking out a small character wouldn't be a fair swap.
L.Bromley
You all make a great argument, I feel like he is our cheapest access to any kind of rend damage, yes his replenish ability is fantastic but in order to really benefit from that would have to be defensive with a combat character? Not necessarily, you just have to move him up with the ghouls and hit the flanks when they charge and tie stuff down.
