Satyrical Sophist
I love cities of sigmar, and started getting into it with 2nd ed. I have a slightly embarrassing number of shadow warriors and phoenix temple models. I know there is a lot of speculation about what is going to happen with the dwarf and elf stuff in the future. Current thoughts seem to be that the duardin stuff is very much out this edition, and the dark elves stuff will be out in future, probably waiting on Malerions update. What are people's plans for their old models, should units be removed? I think there are a couple of ways it could go, and was just curious as to what people plan to do in different situations, what homes for exiled elfs and dorfs. I see three scenarios for the endgame cities of sigmar, these are ranked in order of preference. 1. Cities are fully multicultural, new aelves, duardin and potentially even ogors. There may or may not be things working with the species tag, but I'd rather it be minimal if so. 2. Cities are token multicultural. A few options of aelves and dwarfs, but not really. Basically like we have the warhulk now. 3. Cities are entirely human, other than the warhulk and special characters. I really don't want this to be the case, but does have the advantage of nothing caring about species anymore, so just rebase your iron drakes to run as fusiliers etc. I could see this happening in stages, but I think those are the end game options. So where are you thinking of putting things? To start off for me Black Ark Corsairs are models I absolutely love, and if they get legended then suddenly I have 50 witch elves that I much prefer the look of. I'm not 100% sure what else I can get into DoK from my other aelves, but I am pretty heavy on the corsairs, though I could always use my dark rider as the DoK alternate build instead. I think the hydra or kharibdyss would pretty much have to be added to for the altar thingies. My old phoenix guard, the closest is probably going to be the hammer wielding lumineth? One advantage if all none human options leave cities is that all the elf cavalry can be run as cavaliers. Disadvantage is that I maybe do not need 50 or 60 cavaliers (3 units of dark riders, 3 units actual cav, 2 units of Drakespawn, 2 units of stag riders). Dwarfs are a lot harder to find a home for. I am really hoping that there is a unit of duardin heavy infantry coming, because otherwise I don't think the old dispossessed really have an easy to slot into place. Neil Arthur Hotep
Personally, I am hoping for a future where HUMAN, AELF and DWARF are treated as the subfacitons of Cities in the way that DEATHRATTLE, DEADWALKER and VAMPIRE are in Soulblight. Or RUINATION, WARRIOR, EXTREMIS and VANGUARD chambers are in Stormcast. I also think that's a pretty realistic and likely outcome. In any case, I have no aversion running any 25mm infantry as Steelhelms. Depends on what the new book looks like, of course (if there are new Greatswords in it, then Executioners should probably be Greatswords, for example). Same for other cavalry and Cavaliers. Everything else kind of depends on what the new book has to offer. I don't see a clear use for a Steam Tank in any army outside of Cities, for example. But if it gets replaced by a Cogfort, it might just need to be rebased.
Sete
I have a few CoS models, and I hope they keep Ogors Dwarves and Elves. The range is a bit limited for me at the moment.
