Scorpyon
I have been getting mixed answers on this when searching in the app or on Google etc. Short and simply - in the 4th edition new Orruk Warclans, can you run both Ironjawz and Kruleboyz units or are you only allowed to field one or the other in an army? While some resources seem to suggest that the army is now Orruk Warclans (so therefore any Orruks are allowed), many of the battle reports etc seem to be Ironjawz or Krulebpyz only. Is that just a hangover from 3rd edition maybe? Since I have started collecting Ironjawz with the new Battleforce, and have a few Kruleboyz bits from the Stormfront magazine, I wanted to try and verify either way before deciding what units to collect next. PraetorDragoon
The faction pack is called Orruk Warclans. This contains two factions - Ironjawz and Kruleboyz. These are two seperate factions with their own battle traits, spells, etc. Currently, there is no way to mix those factions outside of Regiments of Renown. It is possible that when the battletome releases, there is a Army of Renown that allows you to mix Orruks. But in what way or how this looks or if there are any restrictions, we do not know. Scorpyon
Hmm ok then. So need to see what the book says then? I guess I was wondering if it was like Stormcasts - they have Ruination, Warrior, Vanguard factions etc but you can mix and match any of them in armies. PraetorDragoon
Kruleboyz and Ironjawz are like Stormcasts and Cities of Sigmar, its just that the Kruleboyz and Ironjawz have to share the label "Orruk Warclans". Ruination, Warrior, Vanguard etc are keywords, and are more like Kruleboyz and Hobgrots for example. Different keywords for synergy and regiment selection, but sharing the same army.
Starfyre
The new Orruk Warclans Battletome will be released in 2025 and will allow you to mix Ironjawz and Kruleboyz via the The Big Waaagh army of renown: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/oaqdfr4a/world-championships-preview-reinforcements-for-the-orruk-warclans/ Quote Two factions – the Ironjawz and the Kruleboyz – are hoofing it into the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar within the pages Battletome: Orruk Warclans. The Big Waaagh! returns as an Army of Renown so you can once more combine furtive and fighty, With the 4th edition index you may not mix the two factions. They are just grouped under 'Orruk Warclans' much to the confusion of many people.
Scorpyon
Sorry - new to Age of Sigmar, hence my confusion - can you explain this conflict: "will allow you to mix Ironjawz and Kruleboyz via the The Big Waaagh army of renown:" "With the 4th edition index you may not mix the two factions. " What is the Big Waaagh? And why can you both mix them and NOT mix them?
PraetorDragoon
Instead of picking a faction, you can pick an Army of Renown to build an army with. Armies of Renown have their own list of units that are available to include. For example, you can play Slaves of Darkness (the faction) and get all Slaves to Darkness models. Or, you can play the Tribes of the Snow Peaks, which limits you to only Darkoath models, but gives you a different set of battle traits. Similarly, the Swords of Chaos limits you to Archaon, Abraxia and Varanguard with their own set of traits. A more wild Army of Renown is the Legion of the First Prince, which lets you take Belakor, several Belakor aligned models, and a bunch of Demons that regular Slaves to Darkness has access to. So for your Orruks you can pick, when the battletome is out: - Ironjawz, with only Ironjawz models. + Regiments of Renown - Kruleboyz, with only Kruleboyz models. + Regiments of Renown - Big Waagh, which lets you take Ironjawz and Kruleboyz models, but we don't know what the exact composition will be and what will be allowed.

" What is the Big Waaagh? And why can you both mix them and NOT mix them? The "Big Waaagh" is an Army of Renown coming in the Orruk Warclans Battletome. Armies of Renown are a set of rules and/or restrictions which change how you build your army, for example Slaves to Darkness nearly always has one where Belakor brings a load of Daemons to the list that you normally can't use in Slaves to Darkness. In the case of Orruk Warclans, you cannot field Kruleboyz and Ironjawz together in the same army usually, however the Big Waaagh Army of Renown removes that restriction. The reason you cannot currently use a Big Waaagh army is that Orruk Warclans currently only have their Faction Pack "Index" which does not have the rules for that Army of Renown.
