Please vote for your choice of winner in the painting contest.

Final entries can be found here - Slaughter Priest painting contest entries

I will refrain from voting, but in the event of a tie I will cast the deciding vote.

This is an open poll so members can see who has voted for each entry.

Voting will be open for 1 week and will close next Sunday evening 9pm (UK time).  I will also draw a random winner from all the entrants and announce both winners at the same time.

Canvassing for votes is not only allowed but also actively encouraged.  Show off your work online and get people to come here to vote for you.

Good luck to all the participants, there are some amazing models in here and you should all be very proud!

As we can canvas for votes I thought it would be only fair to give you a little insight into my slaughterpriest, see it as a kind of Khrone blind date, by getting to know him I'm sure you'll come to love him and vote for him.

Sidney the Slaughterpriest is a strapping chap standing at 7ft 4in. His favourite pastimes involve long romantic walks in the frozen north, slaughtering the innocent and swinging his balls. A little know fact about Sydney is that he hates waste, so after a hard days battling he can often be found socialising with his friends under the stars sharing a glass of Merlot as he roasts a leg of flesh over an open fire. It's this side of Sydney that I'd like you to all think of as you cast your vote, don't think of the blood mad lunatic who'd rather cave your head then look at you, think of the misunderstood gentle giant who loves life and dreams of establishing his own successful chain of gourmet restaurants.

Since we are attempting to garner votes, let me draw your attention to this work of staggering genious (thats how you spell it. Right?)

First, the conversion work is sublime. This guy has a bloody great spike sticking out of his shoulder. The number of times it was glued in place only to fall off again is beyond counting.

The bold colour choices. The helmet is white. White! Who ever heard of such a thing on a khorne model? (whatever you do, dont search for slaughter priests on coolminiornot)

As for the Base. . . Oh You didn't notice the Base? Good, it's a bit rubbish really.

So vote for me. Arbaal has had their ego massaged enough already.

The spike, the helmet, the base it's a perfect match. If you're a follower of Khrone you need a massive spike to keep all the skulls on and you need a white helmet so that your enemies can spot you more easily on the battlefield and thus become more skulls for the spike!

you cannot understand... Khorne  himself came in my dreams last night and told me that if you'll vote for my priest, I will ascend at the status of demon prince...

it's a divine matter :D

KHOOOOOORNE wants it

It seems that this competition become very popular, just by looking at the amount of entries.

Even I was able to finish this dude, which according to my current life situation was a challenge in itself (baby on the way, new house renovation to name a few). In effect he is the first Bloodbound model in my ranks ready and finished :)

As was pointed in one of the topics, can we hope for next editions of this contest? This one was rather 'easy' to go with due to the free model available in White Dwarf. This resolved the decision on what to choose as a thing to paint, as is the case in this type of competition, some models do look better than the others on the start and painting jobs plus possible conversions simply widens the gap between them even more.

Maybe as hinted "the winner takes it all" and this will be this persons choice on what is the next thing to do. Maybe instead we will have a poll for 2-3 weeks to choose what to paint next, so that all of interested parties will have impact on what to do next. Voting could be limited to entrants of the previous competitions. So many options, so many choices, I hope that you will find the proper solution here and this initiative will not die and be continued.

(Shameless plug mode = ON)

On a side note have you seen this guy:

pjimage.jpg

- Typical Khornate grin on his face,

- fancy top-knot on his head, last thing his opponents admire before they die,

- alternatively it can be the ever hungry sword, always looking for new prey to feed upon and delve its teeth into,

- he "came in like a wrecking ball" in to many enemies lives,

- is still "like a virgin", will touch the field of battle for the very first time,

- if in doubt who he follows, look at his chest, skulls is not enough, get yourself a proper tattoo too,

- fancy skirt also contains my nickname in typical Chaos runes style,

- last but not least, its good to get on the field of battle in style, with fancy shining armor in crazy sublime patterns on it, being Khorne follower was never so fancy before :)

If you like him, leave a vote for Malin ;)

(Shameless plug mode = OFF)

Lets hope this is not the last time to have a chance for post like this ;)

@Ben Thank you for your time, idea and effort put into it. This competition and a lot more you do for the community and AoS is really appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everybody!

I made a step by step guide of how I painted my Slaughterpriest. Please check it out. There's also a 360° view of the finished model:

Thanks for watching, and congragulations to everyone who entered this awesome contest! I had a great time painting my model and following the progress of others during this last month. I sure hope there will be more contests like this one!

Damn, it is so close! Just two votes behind the frontrunner. It makes me feel great to get that many votes. And on top of all those votes the mengel miniatures blog just named me 'mini of the week' ?☺️

http://www.mengelminiatures.com/2016/10/mini-of-week-10-7-16.html?m=1

Well, time to reveal my allegiance to Tzeentch!

Arbaal did a truly stunning job on his miniature. He deserves every vote. The way he painted the armour is simply amazing.

But the one entry in this contest that truly stands out is Elfhead's slaughterpriest. Not only is it a stunningly painted mini (just look at the blue shades in the skin), but it's also a great yet subtle conversion. He has turned a champion that screams Khorne in every aspect into a very credible Tzeentch champion. Not an easy thing to do.

So if you haven't voted yet, please vote for Elfhead. Or for me of course...
