yarrickson
Not quite a year in to AOS, and I'm onto my third force. After Stormcast and Khorne Daemons and an abortive attempt at Skaven its back to the forces of order for an army of Fyreslayers. I woke up one Saturday morning, and just knew that what I really wanted was a force of orange bearded duardin. So the Skaven force I'd collected went on eBay and by Sunday I was down GW for my fix. Plan is to start with: Auric Runefather on Magmadroth Auric Runeson on Magmadroth Auric Runefather Auric Runeson 2 Auric Runesmiter Auric Runemaster Battlesmith Grimwrath Berzerker 30 Vulkite Berzerkers 20 Hearthguard Berzerkers 10 Auric Hearthguard Colour wise I'm going with a darker skin to hopefuly accentuate the ur-gold and hair. Pics attached of the start of the force. More to follow as I paint/build.
Ben
Looks great so far. WHat are you doing with the bases?
yarrickson
Totally undecided on the bases. Going to leave them till last. Open to ideas if anyone has a thought?
TalesOfSigmar
Great start really love the Runefather conversion you've done. Like the darker skin than normal too.
amysnuggs
I love that conversion, it looks great! And the darker skin makes the orange stand out a lot, I like it
yarrickson
Thanks for the positive comments the perils of working opposite a GW, I've come home with another couple of characters today, added to the Runeson on Magmadroth this gives me more reinforcements for my force. I had emptied my GW of vulkites and Hearthguard last week but more of those will arrive tomorrow, along with my in-laws sadly so painting opportunities will be limited for the next week or so. Updates when I have something pretty to show. Oh and my Runefather conversion didn't like being sprayed with undercoat (silly foam brick) so he's ended up with a shorter latchkey grandaxe and a smaller base Apologies for continued poor pics, just using my phone camera. Will break out the good camera once I have finished product.

yarrickson
I have a possibly vain hope of getting the army battle ready for Caledonian Carnage in Stirling on the 21st May. Tourneys generally the only impetus I ever have to get an army finished.
yarrickson
Basing idea, gone with Averland Sunset with a sepia wash and some blue clump flowers. Too jazzy?

yarrickson
Rainy day, so I have snuck away from the visiting in-laws to get some hobby in. Just waiting on 1 last box of Auric Hearthguard and I'll have 138 SCGT points or 25.5 clashcomp. Below pic is everything else in various stages of grey/black/paint/basing. Three weeks until Caledonian Carnage so will require a big push to be ready for that, might end up being Northern Invasion in July instead for these little fellas first tourney. Should be able to get first practice games in this coming week. Can't wait. Oh and I've diverted from my original plan and have bought three Grimwrath Berserkers. They seem too hitty not to spam. yarrickson
Thanks Niall. You know you'll be one of the first to feel the wrath of the Fyreslayers. (Or you know, utterly pump them given how mortal wound filthy your skaven are now)
yarrickson
First 11 vulkites berzerkers finished. Although now that I photograph them I think maybe another layer of beard/crest highlight might be nice.

Stevewren
The tajima range is excellent. I use it a lot now. The diorama tufts are particularly cool. Great models by the way. I'd like to paint a couple of the characters I think

Not like the old Garagrim Ironfist model with his wrinkly ******. 1 hour ago, Stevewren said: The tajima range is excellent. I use it a lot now. The diorama tufts are particularly cool. Very much looking forward to painting the Runemaster, my favourite model in the range, and also the Runesmiters, as they have a higher ratio of metal to do.
