TerrorPenguin
Apart from summoning, are there any tricks in death to get the battle line up and in their faces a bit quicker? I'm aware of the legion of death but do we have any teleporting units like the storm cast? Or mega first turn runs like destruction? Appreciate we are not going to get all of those abilities but would like to find some if they are out there. tia
Fenske
Only thing that pops off my brain immediately is the Courtiers ability in FEC. Depending on narrative or match play, you can add (or revive) lost models back to units. They must be added coherently, but you can conga them toward an enemy... I never thought of that but it sounds nice and cheesy, so my black knights run towards a gun line and 3 get mown down, in my next hero phase I roll a d3 to restore units and get a 3, I can place the first an inch away from my furthest forward unit, the next one, another inch from that etc? genius
Fenske
Yeah. Having a Necro with VHDM is nice with this tactic as it allows unit to pile in twice, so you can lock down a unit, take min casualties as there are few in melee range- then pile in again and clean house. If you can get opponent to take the bait and charge the conga (which requires a bit of distance finesse to optimize) you can then pile in later and get similar results as above. #advancedtactics
Nico
Just clarifying that Vanhels only works in your turn, in case the second paragraph of the above post was implying otherwise. That is a really interesting idea, particularly if you're planning to activate another unit first. Snake onto the end of a line of troops - make sure that you don't attack the same unit as the one that the Vanhels unit is attacking (or he could remove casualties nearest to your snake in response). Best done with Skellies with 2 inch range spears or Necropolis Knights.
Undead4Life
The Abyssal Terror Vampire Lord has a spell that doubles movement distance. Kinda wasted on things like skellies and zombies, but totally amazeballs on things like Zombie Dragons and Mourguls.
Mr.Moe
The FEC have the Ghoul patrol formation which lets you set up 3 units of ghouls + courtier in 6" from ANY table edge
