I adore these new fellas!

But I don't know how I feel about a cities color scheme change... I have an entire Greywater Fastness army painted in Incubi Darkness and Averland Sunset (bluish green + yellow). I would be pretty upset, if this isn't the 'official' palette anymore.

Nonetheless Yellow + Grey make sense – Greywater handgunners are called "greycaps" iirc – and the cogwheel-like pattern too.

I am already preparing myself to add an explanation that there was an organisational reform that changed uniforms and command structure, but is still in progress to my headcanon. Need to justify where all the feathered hats, puffy sleeves and codpieces went.

easy: the DAWNBRINGERS from Greywater are differentiated from the standing-army/garrison of Greywater by changing the green to black.

I do wish the new models had kept that green tbh, it looks exceptional on the ranger and longbeard!

EDIT: If we end up getting two new types of gunpowder units and a bombard, plus the Steam Tank stays, then I will have all I wanted out of this update.

List seems plausible, bit more meat to it than the last "City themed leak", so I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. If it's real it's an incredibly nice and complete feeling release (albeit surprisingly without Warrior Priest and Wizard kits, although with the hopes of a second wave soon!), but as always, it needs to be taken with that bit of salt.

The nice thing about it is that it is very explicit with exact names for things, so if GW shows us another mini next monday we will probably have te list confirmed/disproven.

The list is also fairly plausible in so far that it includes all the rumoured stuff and matches what we know/suspect.

My scepticism is set off by the Ogres being apparently called Maneaters. Doesn't seem likely in a human centred army.

Also, isn't the list just an exact match of what we think we already know?

'Maneaters' was the term for mercenary Ogres as far back as Fantasy so it's definitely an ironic unit name if ever there was one (if this list turns out to be true), but it's not the furthest stretch given there's history behind it. I vaguely recall the Ogors in Excelsis during Broken Realms were specifically Maneaters too.

Ok, I didn't realise it had history.

My objection hereby withdrawn.

Interesting rumor. Vanguard seem like freeguild graveguard.

excited to see if the crusader shrine is real like the old pope mobile war alter.

I was hoping for new pistoleer horses.

happy to hear potentially not all wanderers are gone and that copters are still around.

weird there is still no 1:4 Seraphon city.
hopefully there’s still 1:4 SCE

Mixed feelings about this. I hope we get more than one cavalry unit and a couple of things that dabble in AoS weirdness to build out a traditional core of units.

I did like the size of the list though. 14  or so kits including warcry is what I'm hoping for. The list of warcry units also looked fun.

But which part? We know at least 3 of these cities units aren't fake. Granted the loadout bits could be partially fake. I know its not in your nature to not be vague, but it would be really nice if you could be less vague.

I thought the list looked credible and I would have been satisfied with it. Although I suspect that GW will want to put at least one unexpected curveball of a unit into the real release and the list was playing it very safe.

I liked the prospect of putting the 40k Imperial Guard weapons teams into Cities, though. Whitefang has previously reacted positively to a post saying that the new Freeguild might draw from the Imperial Guard faction design, so maybe that will pan out after all.

I took that more as the organizational aspect of the design, not anything kit/aesthetic wise? Like how the command structure shakes out and probably how leaders can deploy commands

That's how I took it, too. However, unit roles also play into this, in my opinion. If the fantasy GW is trying to capture with the Freeguild is "actual military doing combined arms warfare", then something like weapon teams make sense as a unit, I think. Although of course we have not yet seen any technologically advanced units out of the new release yet. For all we know it's all knights and "hand cannons" now.

They are not fake because the guy has built his lie on it to make it believable. He took the 3 reveals we know about and simply extrapolated from them. Plus some fancy stuff for Warcry (and this time embroidering from the Warcry roadmap).

I wouldn't even be surprised if it's the same person who made up a few months ago, again with Cities...
