Dracothjay
So, I like the SS batallion as everyone does, but my problem is I hate my non-powerful units being too close to the heat as the SS demands.so what about this list?: lord celestant celestant prime knight vexillor lord relictor 5 liberators 5 liberators 5 judciators 5 judicators 10 retributors - 4 maces 5 protectors - 2 maces 3 prosecutors - celestial hammers. Ok, so I'm thinking celestant prime and retributors are the key ASSUALT units here. Typically the CP will strike in turn 3-4 whilst the retributors go straight in off of turn one and try and cause as much carnage as they can. My liberators hold back and guard the judicators along with Lord celestant, vex and relictor. Prosecutors can move up and get in range with the judicators and all focus 1 unit at a time to lay the hurt on. what are your thoughts? Although having the CP and 10 rets as my hammer units, am I missing something that could better this list?
AaronWilson
Interesting topic, I just threw this together - Prime Lord on Dracoth Vexillor Venator Judicators Judicators Judicators Prosecutors with Javelins Prosecutors with Javelins 10 Paladin retributors Combined arms approach, turn 1 you blow something up with Retributors and force the opponent to handle the shooting or the retributors, all while waiting for the prime. If not something with a Stardrake like.. Stardrake Lord on Dracoth Relictor Castellant 2 Concussors 2 Concussors Judicator Judicator Liberator Liberator 2+ Stardrake that heals when he rolls a 6, and a bunch of high damage mobile models. Not to mention a ton of 3+ rerolling 1s.
Dracothjay
Do you prefer the LCoD? I think I prefer him but the only reason I use the on foot celestant is that he's so cheap. If I dropped the relictor and prosecutors then I could replace the on foot celestant to the dracoth version. I see no point in giving liberators +1 to hit as they bounce off a lot of things, so I'm thinking dracoth version for the battle shock buff. Views? AaronWilson
I really like LCoD for 220. 3+ re rolling's 1 (that cause mortal wounds on passes) Is good, he does a ton of damage when he charges with a relic blade and he's storm strike is a great tool to have. Forgebellows
If not going SS, your troops are susceptible to battleshock, giving the LCoD more value. However, since we can re-roll battleshock anyway as order, the LCoF is still one of the strongest things you can add to your force for the +1 to hit. He's the only way our army gets this buff unless you bring hurricanums.
