Televiper11
So I bought a box of Sepulchral Guard: 7 models; want to take it to 10 to run as a regular Skellie unit. The Wight King models could get rebased to work, maybe? Or I just gotta grab some loosies off eBay

Aturox
Tried to give my vamp lord some color 😅 I wanted to combine the yellow for vykros(moon) and blood for the vamps in my heraldry now i need to come up with 5 color variations for my bloodknights Edit: Had to change the color since the vamp sticked out way to much with the yellow armor 😅 some highlights and it should be fine Edited May 27, 2021 by Aturox

Neil Arthur Hotep
I managed to finish up Belladamma today. More or less in the box art scheme with a few personal touches. I really enjoyed doing this type of mossy forrest base. All my other miniatures are on desert or city bases, so it was a nice change of pace for me. Now I have a decision to make, though: Should I paint and base the 10 dire wolves I have to match Belladamma or should I match them to the desert theme of my other guys? I'm thinking of keeping the Deathrattle and Deadwalker halves of my army thematically separate: All the skeletons come from an ancient desert kingdom, and all the Deadwalkers are reinforcements under the command of Belladamma and thus get a forrest aesthetic. But on the other hand, painting some undead jackals would be a lot of fun and probably more unique. I only have one real green paint, which is Vallejo Game Colour Escorpena Green, and that's the brightest green highlight you see on the model. But because I was experimenting with how to get a nice mossy look, I went back and forth a lot between brown, green, washes and stippling. I did a few things to make the moss look more mossy, though. The first step was that before priming, I used a hard-bristled brush to stipple on some liquid green stuff to give the mossy areas a rougher texture. I think that really paid off and goes a long way towards selling the moss effect. For the actual painting, I started with a darker green that I mixed up from whatever blue and yellow I had lying around (in my case, Vallejo Model Colour Intense Blue and Deep Yellow). Sometimes I thought the moss effect turned too bright, and when that happened I hit it with a brown wash to bring everything back down, before stippling on greens again. Sometimes, because stippling is a fairly rough technique, an area gets more green than I liked (like on the rocks). In that case, I went back with that area's base colour and also stippled it back on. That gives a good look to the mossy growth which is not too even. On the rocks and tree stump, I did a lot of different stuff to sell the moss effect. However, on the ground I literally just stippled on Escorpena Green over a dark brown earth colour in the last second, and it looks nearly the same. So I guess it's really up to you how much effort you want to put in. 1

I'm still relatively new to the hobby, picked up some Athonian Camoshade to make the tree stump on Radukar look mossier, but it didn't have the desired effect. Will try a bit better when I get round to Bella, but won't be anywhere near your level just yet!

I think the key takeaway is to put down a nice dark brown base and hit it with some bright green stipples. I do recommend taking that extra step with the liquid green stuff, though. Lightbox
Some photos I took of my small Avengorii force for an AoS2 game recently. Ended up losing to my friends Lumineth because my dice hated me bad but it was a good fun game and reminded me why the terrorgheist is great (I even got the 6 mortals on its bite once during the game) My blood knights are still wip but I'm happy with how the force is coming along. 3
Sception
Painted the entire cursed city box this month: Spoiler I did rush a bit to meet the deadline. The necromancer robes could use one more final highlight, some of the faces could use some more definition like what I did for the vargskyr. I may have gone a bit too far on the green - the color scheme was supposed to be black and green, not just green. In particular, I think I should have swapped the black and green on the skeleton and zombie clothing - ie mostly black with green belts/straps/details instead of the other way around. But while I have some nitpicks here and there, and some things I might do differently going forward, I'm still super happy with what I got done, and am happier with having this many models painted to this standard than I would have been with having just a few models painted to a higher standard. I have had the box since launch and have only managed the Vargskyr and three heroes so far, haha. I also noticed that 4th edition skeleton sprue tomb stone on the Vargskyr base. A fun little touch
Sception
Thanks! Its base seemed a little barren otherwise, and I didn't really want to put the time into anything more effortful than that. I always keep tombstone bits - & collect any spares from gaming friends. They're never not useful.
Sception
Also painted the Crimson Court (emerald entourage? Viridian viceroys? Peacock patricians? Limey lords & ladies?) Spoiler Like some of the cursed city stuff, it was a bit rushed to finish it all last month, and the faces in particular could use more definition like the Vargskyr got, but I'm happy with the results as they are for now. I especially like how the black scaloped armor with the creen highlights turned out, and will probably make that a defining visual marker for vampires in my army going forward. Maybe even go back and re-do my prince vhordrai conversion to match. Based on my thoughts on some of the Cursed City stuff, I also deliberately used more black on the cloth bits - particularly the pants on the wingaling guy and the body stocking & gloves on the duelist lady. Between that and the dark scaloped armor, I think the overall balance of values on the model is superior on these than on the cursed city skeletons and zombies, and the ghostly green bits pop a bit better, and this will change how I paint my soulblight stuff going forward, though I won't be re-painting anything I already did, not until I have a fully painted army to work with.
