Your Model Wishlist for 3.0

Malerion and his Shadow Elves are all I want.

I sold my Chaos Dwarfs (holdovers from the old world) last year to fund a couple other games.

I haven't bought any Age of Sigmar armies, because I'm still waiting for my army to be released. I really thought Broken Realms was going to get to Malerion, doesn't seem likely anymore

I'd say at least a proper first or second wave for all the new 1st edition Aos armies left in shambles (Ironjawz,Fyreslayers and so on) and the legacy armies with too much finecast (like Skaven).
If we're talking about brand new armies and or ideas going by GA:
Order: Faithful of Sigmar reinforcement for Cities and\or Grungni-Valaya brand new classic-dwarves (perhaps absorbing old dispossessed).
Death: Deadwalker own army, some meat monsters and zombie nobilty like in the lore.
Chaos: Chaos duardin, is the only possible new angle still not explored in chaos forces (not counting FW models that got unfortunately canned).
Destruction: Evil Sun worshipper or something like that mixing Grotbag  air Grots and Gitmob wolf-riding grots, the first updating the old "contraptions" of goblins in whfb.

Order; New Duardin/Dispossessed dedicated to Grungni/Valaya with rune-powered Golemkind. And a new White Dwarf model in his image from Realmslayer series.

Chaos: Chaos Duardin. Either Furnace Lords or Legion of Azgorh.

Destruction: New Ironjawz models including mid-range ballista choppas and shield brutes. Reintroduce Hobgoblin wolf riders and basic orruks to the setting.

Death:

Soulblight Gravelords second wave with:

  • Generic Vampire Lord on Nightmare, to go with the blood knights
  • Generic Necrarch style spellcasting specialist vampire hero
  • Generic version of the zombie gravekeeper hero from Cursed City
  • Cursed City Blood Born / other vampire infantry unit
  • Cursed City Nightguard / other zombie ogres
  • New Grave Guard, so the elite skeletons don't look less elite than the chaff skeletons
  • faction terrain (specific gravesite models) and endless spells

OBR second wave with:

  • warsphinx-type monster with option for either a liege hero rider or mortek crew riders plus an extra base to put the liege on foot as an infantry hero.  Maybe the mortek crew get to mount a big ballista on their version that shoots bolts made from the thigh bones of gargants or something.
  • mortek archers
  • mortek chariots / chariot-like skeletal abominations
  • Some sort of necromantic support piece that confers a bonus to casting to nearby OBR wizards.  Maybe this is a third optional build for the warsphinx monster above.
  • Big walls and gate in the style of the set the studio built for the OBR reveal.  I know this one's a longshot, but claiming and fortifying terrain is so core to the OBR identity, and that studio terrain looked really good and like it would make for some pretty simple and good looking plastic kits.

Significant FEC expansion with:

  • Plastic Varghulf, dual kit with named varghulf
  • Actual Models for the various Courtier heroes, perhaps a dual kit for the flayer/horror heroes.
  • Make SG Fell Bats and Dire Wolves available to FEC armies
  • Carrion King named character model, independent of any specific subfaction, appears out of the mists like the Green Knight whenever a Charnel Kingdom needs him most.  A legendary, unkillable figure, with the implication that when dead his spirit might possess another nearby abhorrent, or he might not be a real individual consciousness at all, and abhorrents who grow sufficiently powerful are overwhelmed by the madness and simply believe themselves to be the Carrion King.
  • Fey Enchantress equivalent character - a 'sane' ghoul queen matriarch, subfaction independent like the Carrion King, who travels from charnel kingdom to charnel kingdom tending to the abhorrents and mordents, treated by the FEC as a semi-divine prophetess & mother figure
  • New units that better convey the delusions of the FEC.  Perhaps ghoul cav on dire wolves or fell bats, with more upright postures and scraps of armor, and dignified expressions despite their twisted forms.  Maybe new, slightly more upright crypt ghouls, or a more elite bodyguard ghoul unit, with tattered banners and the occasional raised goblet or corroded weapon or scrap of armor.  Maybe bits of torn clothing here and there that players can paint in dirty heraldic colors.
  • maybe a different, better piece of faction terrain.

Nighthaunts:

  • Honestly, I think the range is mostly fine and just needs new rules
  • maybe replace the few remaining holdover oldhammer ghosts
  • this would require a new SG kit for black knights in order to also replace the hexwraiths, so maybe add that to the SG list above
  • Maybe some faction terrain

For Stormcasts, I want more warmachines/artillery, Lord Commander (and Vandus Hammerhand to be made Lord Commander), a more full on melee flying unit (prosecutors feel more like harrasement unit).

For general use I would also like to see GW make some endless prays but for specific gods that any faction can use as long as the faction can follow that god.

I just think it be neat for the gods to be able interact more in game since they so important in the lore.

I know that for someone may seems obnoxious but as SCE being similar to space marines i'd give them some lighting gheist construct like the dreadnought.
Unable to be reforged anymore they'd get encased in a Sigmarite golem that fulfill some heavy assault role.
Also we need a lord commander miniature.

Honestly... I would be happy if they just gave me a plastic Skryre Acolyte kit. Those metal poisoned-wind globadiers were the same metal models when I was playing WHFB back in 98-99

They don't upgrade because of immersion.

Skaven poison themselves with the warpstone inside their weapons, just like skaven players poison themselves with the lead inside their miniatures!

I like this, I think we are going to see it sooner or later. I mean, how much infantry and cavalry can they create? They could also do BIG golems, like Knights!

As cool as I think that could be, (I'm thinking the big Zandalari golems from Warcraft), I'd rather save that space entirely for a duardin army. I'd really like Grungni to stop working for Sigmar and forge his own path. While I'd really like a new destruction race, I'll happily settle for a Duardin vs. Greenskins narrative in 3.0.

I agree on that though i'm a bit more optimistic.
We know Grungni was working for the Dwarf people in Chamon as the "stormcast new armor" is a recent development not thought before the Bel'akor thing.
In Soulbound they described him building reclamation engines for the dwarf to reclaim their holds and the Fyreslayer tomes says also that he's working on various possible things.
Still the alliance betwen Grungni and Sigmar is a staple that should'nt be forgotten as Ghal Maraz itself is a symbol to that alliance between dwarves and men (unlike fickle elves).
Still I'd say something for Grungni is definitely coming, with a third faction, hoping they'll be playing the classic point of dwarves: karaks, grudges and tradition.
I'd love some things like Valaya Shieldmaiden\Valkyries, rune weapons and other traditional\spiritual things (contrasting the Atheistic Kharadron and the warrior-brotherhood feeling of the Fyreslayers).
Perhaps they could throw in some Gholemkind auxiliary as they are mentioned in various books as being of Chamon.
The possibilities are endless if GW does apply, and Gromthi attack on Bel'akor renew my hopes.
After all Greenskins can be stopped only by the sons of Grungni.

I would like to see Malerion make an appearance but I’m not sure I’m sold on the shadow-demon-Aelf thing yet.

I would like to see Gnoblars make a comeback in some way but im not sure how you can effectively differentiate them from Goblins.

One thing I’ve learned from Age of Sigmar is that GW has been very capable in making me want factions I would have no interest in on paper (Idoneth and Kharadron come to mind) so I am sure that whatever they come up with will be great. Ossiarch are about the only exception. They’re a faction that I live the lore and basic idea of but absolutely hate the models.

Honestly I feel like that particular angle of hardcore suicide troops - dwarf slayers, Death Company, flagellants, Sisters Repentia, Medusan Immortals - is a little overdone in GW games buuuut imagining how they'd sculpt a skeleton/armature of lightning with floating plates of sigmarite barely holding it together in a coherent human-shaped form is really appealing.

Well, technically space marine Dreadnought are'nt suicide style troops so i'd say it's a different niche.

Still as barely holding themsleves golems could be appealing too.

Or even a shock attack gun style artillery piece that shoots lightning gheists XD.

Order

  • Melee swashbuckler type infantry for KO, to go in the Iron Sky Attack Squadron instead of Arkanauts.
  • "Upgrade" kits for IDK's cavalry with differently posed eels, and a second wave for the faction.
  • New Dwarf faction.

Chaos

  • Chaos Dwarves, yes I know it won't happen.

Destruction

  • Hobgoblins.
  • A second wave for Ironjaws.

Death

  • The Liege Immortis for OBR, allowing you to take Necropolis Stalkers as battleline.
  • New Hexwraiths, or a replacement cavalry unit for Nighthaunt entirely.
  • New Grave Guard.
  • A Vampire Lord mounted on a nightmare.

  • 1 month later...

Ok, I’m sorry for the thread necro but it’s kinda fitting, given that this wishlist has been living rent free in my head for the past few days - be warned, wall of text incoming.

Basically, I want an expansion for the non-Soulblight elements of SBGL:

Deadwalkers:

  • A generic version of the Gravekeeper from Cursed City. Make them aging Necromancers that split their soul apart to avoid death, becoming half-zombie liches or something. Maybe have a variant mounted on a palanquin on a broken off chunk off earth, carried around by a load of zombie attendants
  • Generic Nightguard. The Kosargi were hands down one of my favourite parts of Cursed City, so the fact they’re stuck to Radukar hurts. Hell, they don’t even have to be Kosargi specifically, undead Ogors in any kind (although preferably in units of 3 ) would be nice.
  • Zombified vultures carrying around zombies ala Deck Droppers - although these Zombies would probably have some kind of grenade weapon rather than straight up guns.
  • Rat/vermin swarms. Genuinely don’t know why they weren’t ever elaborated on, given that they were in Cursed City.
  • Updated Corpse Cart.

Deathmages:

  • A unit of Necromancer acolytes, preferably around 5-10 models in base size. They’d function like the Vanari units in that they’d be wizards but only able to cast a single inherent spell.
  • Fleshy abominations. It’s been said time and time again, but that’s because it’s such a good idea! 20-strong horde units of modified zombie/generic undead with extra arms and limbs and heads, carriages with big lightning rods on top pulled by hulking and brutish ones with no head, stitched together Frankenstein’s monster-esque behemoths - it’s free real estate.
  • On a slightly less exciting note, more mounted Necromancers. Just a Nightmare would do - something to get them across the battlefield and do their job quicker.
  • Some sort of operating table/dug up graveyard scenery. Whilst this might not be Deathmages exclusive, it does fit them best imo.
  • Underworlds warband. A Necromancer with a grab bag of assorted undead minions, think anywhere from Dire Wolves to Zombies to the aforementioned fleshy abominations. Oh, and a lovable mascot of some kind ala the Deepkin Crab.

Deathrattle:

  • Bone giant. The Tomb Kings had them, and whilst the OBR might have custody of the golem/catapult side, the average Joe skellies get the rest!
  • New Black Knight and Grave Guard models. The old ones just look a bit decrepit in comparison to the shiny new Wight King and skellies, it’s a bit sad.
  • A Barrow Champion with some kind of shiny big banner.
  • Some kind of Wight King special character. Maybe the “Jade Skull Emperor” mentioned in the Battletome that refuses to ally with any Soulblight?

I have some more ideas brewing for the specific Soulblight element, but for now this is it. If you can’t tell, I’m a sucker for more rotting/decayed undead hahaha.

Nighthaunts:

Ranged Unit:

Something akin to slingshots for midrange shooting (12 to 18). Shooting some ectoplasm that does exploed when rolling 6s for example

A Monster:

Maybe something that is a warped entitiy made up from fused souls in one giant blob of sceaming souls, a weird mass rolling over the battlefield to swallow/suck you into its mass. Not something for a huge damage output but rather a great anvil unit that just won't die easily

Daughters of Khaine:

A beast from Ulgu:

Something made from shadow itself, lurking in the dark parts of Ulgu. A small unit of 3 "tamed" beasts with 4 or 5 wounds each accompanied by a beast mistress putting them in a frenzy (and hopefully the right direction). Maybe a multikit that builds you one tanky version and one glasshammer version.

A larger monster (with monster keyword):

Just as with the beasts, something from the shadows but huge and mean :D

Heavy Cavalary:

Something more like the Cold One Knights or Dark Riders

Crazy Warmachine Catapult thing?

I just would like to have such a unit type, no proper idea. Maybe something that catapults multiple small balls filled with explosives and steaming hot blood? Maybe something thats a more magical weapon than traditional, shooting a ray of searing, piercing and tearing shadow down the field?

Sylvaneth

Archer Revenants:

We have seen a sculp, bring the unit already.

Kurnothi/Woodelves rolled into Sylvaneth:

Would be a nice addition just like LRL got Light and Wind so far.
